Review Nym Gelato - Quebec City

Great gelato place. The price is reasonable too. You can choose between 2, 3 or 4 scoops with different flavors. I chosed 3 flavors and I really like hazelnut and the pistachio ones. The passion fruit flavors is refreshing too. Great place for your sweet tooth!

Brazilian Mix Gelato! . Mango, Passion Fruit....annnnd I cannot remember if there was a third ingredient because this gelato was mouth -watering and one big distraction from reality! 🤤 . Totally needed that!

Yummy fresh ice cream 😋😋😋 Very delicious

I hesitated to write this review at first, but then I thought it's my duty to make other people aware of the incident that I encountered in this ice cream place. Just to be accurate, this happened yesterday, September 19, 2021 between 5 PM and 6 PM. I came to Quebec City as a foreign tourist with my friend and we decided to stop for some ice cream. The shop was empty, we were the only people there at first. We said Hi to the server lady, but she didn't even reply back and she avoided eye contact with us. I asked her nicely if I can try the tiramisu flavor, and she gave me some. I tried it, didn't like it then I discarded the spoon. I decided to order coffee flavor in a cone. She scooped 1 scoop into the cone, the portion was so small that the scoop of ice-cream sank inside the cone, and it could only be eaten using a spoon. I asked her nicely if I can have a spoon. She rolled her eyes and mumbled some thing. I asked if she can please repeat what she said because I didn't hear it. So she looked at my friend, and addressed him instead with an angry tone, and said that I already gave her a spoon to test the tiramisu flavor earlier, she wasn't supposed to discard the spoon. My friend said that it is just a spoon. She gave me a spoon and she had a very angry look. My friend then took few minutes to chose his order, at that time another family entered the shop. He picked milkshake. The server was so angry, she slammed the fridge door and she started preparing the order with frustration, and she put it at the counter violently. My friend was so upset he wanted to talk to a manager, but I had enough and asked him to just let it be. We payed and left silently. We were supposed to cancel the order, but I just didn't want to make a scene in front of the other customers. As a tourist and a foreigner, I had the worst experience ever in a new place. And if this was not a RACIST encounter, I don't know what is.

My mom and I were wait in line very patiently. Before us were some school girls. Couple girls suddenly went in front of us and the waiter served them instead of us. Horrible people. Don't go.

This Nym Gelato in Old Quebec City serves very tasty hazelnut gelato, it tastes just like it!

It feels so refreshing to have a cup of gelanto while discovering old QC. There is a nice small square close by where you can enjoy your icecream.

We stopped here for some treats after lunch on a hot July day in Quebec City. We appreciated the dairy free sorbet option for our youngest daughter as well. They have a great location right outside the beautiful Cathedral in the heart of old Quebec. And there is great park right outside the door and another a block away to sit and eat on a warm day. Inside, its cramp, a counter to order, and just enough room to exit around other people ordering and paying. They do have two window ledge seats for your party to wait for you, but I'd recommend having them wait in the park outside if it's crowded, as it was quite cramped the day we went. My wife and I and oldest daughter all got gelato. My daughter some cotton candy flavor and loved it, someone finishing the large small size with my wife's help. My wife and I split a chocolate gelato, which was nice and creamy and more than enough for the two of us. My youngest got her sorbet, the smallest, and needed assistance to not finish it. But she kept trying until it was fully melted, so I'd say she liked it! Highly recommend as an after lunch or dinner treat, eat while sitting in the park or strolling the beautiful streets of Quebec.
