My last meal in Quebec City before flying back to Toronto had to be poutine (of course). This place was close to my hotel and fortunately did not disappoint.
Squeaky cheese curds and addictive gravy. Their fries are a little burnt, but that’s their style and I don’t mind it as it adds an extra dimension to the dish (as noted in an earlier review, some don’t like their fries this way).
Pictured is the “Gaston” which has onions, ground beef, and hot dog slices in it. If you don’t want protein, stick with the original or with onions only. Small place so takeout is a good option as it could get crowded inside. Courteous staff. Fair prices. What’s not to like? Bon appetit!

Stopped in for poutine based on Google reviews, and we weren't disappointed. Unpretentious, friendly service, delicious food. Off the beaten path so not fill of tourists. There are two high tables with stools that seat 4 each, plus two spots to sit and eat at the counter.
The second largest poutine was enough for two to share and came with lots of delicious squeaky cheese curds and gravy.
I tried the St-Roch burger and it was also great. Juicy beef patty with spicy sauce and fresh lettuce and tomato. I think the Brie melted too quickly for me to see it.

Stopped here for poutine as suggested by a local. Great portion, topping, and soft melting fries. One of the best poutine we have tried, with half the price as the other three places.

Me and my friend visited from Montreal. It's a local restaurant. Very friendly staff. There is Kim and Véro. Both were very generous, smiley and fun to dine in their presence. The food was awesome. Hot and fresh, delicious and filling. They gave us free fries too. I will definitely visit again when I come to Quebec city 😄

Après une première expérience assez troublante, non sur le point gustative, je dois avouer M. Gaston s'est virer de bord assez rapidement pour réglé le problème. On a été à l'écoute et on s'est amélioré! À mon deuxième passage, J'ai essayé la Gaston, un vrai party dans ma bouche! j'ai ensuite essayé l'hybride entre Gaston et Sylvie... la Sylton, le party était encore plus gros, et mon estomac aussi après avoir ingurgité tout ça :) Le mec derrière le comptoir est demeuré sympathique et enjoué malgré toute la populace qui se trouvait dans ce petit endroit reclus de la rue Dorchester. J'y retournerai avec grand plaisir!

Très bonnes frites maisons, le menu est bien varié, simple mais très bon, moi les noms des poutine et hamburger me font ben rire et chaque fois j'y vais peu importe qui me sert le personnel est toujours gentil, bien attentif à notre besoins et efficace �

Petit resto très sympathique, très accueillant, tout est bon sur le menu et surtout, des employés et proprio sensass, c'est ma petite place préféré, je vous encourage a aller manger une poutine Gaston ou le suisse, vous ne serez pas déçu loll

Pour un premier essais (je suis difficile!) C'étais vraiment bon très contente de mon choix (la gaston) on y retourne c'est clair!

Le problème n'est pas la nourriture mais la prise de commande et le service. Manque de courtoisie total des préposés. Prise de commande déficiente erreur sur les repas commandés. D'autres endroits servent de l'excellente nourriture avec un service plus courtois et amical.

Envie d'une poutine hier soir après la game de baseball. Mon ami me dit "on va allé chez Gaston c'est bon!" (Pis ça rime en plus ! ) Go chez Gaston. Un p'tit casse-croute de quartier avec son comptoir, ses affiches de concerts, quelques déco un brin rétro et surtout un super accueil! J'ai pris une bonne poutine et j'ai craqué sur le Ti - Guy! Un truc de malade!!! Une expérience gustative mémorable
