Review Cochon Dingue Champlain - Quebec City

This was my favorite meal in Quebec City! For starters we had the Trio Cochon, which was great, I really enjoyed all three appetizers. For the main course, I had the Quebec ribs and they were excellent!! The sauce was delicious and the ribs were perfectly cooked and succulent. I highly recommend them. My wife had the pork poutine and enjoyed it.

My partner and I had a good experience here. Most of this was due to the great service. Everyone was very friendly-especially our waiter because she was very informative and understanding. They have a decent sized menu with quite a few options- including some gluten free options. Our favourite part of our order was the mango smoothie, apple sauce( it’s worth the try as it is not the tradition style) and the real fruit jam. One thing that really made this place stand out to us was our waiter gave us a shot of a strawberry smoothie for free which was a nice touch. Overall this place is worth the try and a good option for a quick breakfast!

Visited based on the reviews, left pretty disappointed. We went in around 8pm and the staff wasn't very friendly... They took a while to take our drinks order and also our food order. Food and drinks arrived quickly after we ordered though. The raspberry sodas, the kids ordered, were pretty much lightly flavored club soda.. Barely tasted like raspberry. The blonde demon tasted more like a lemon rather than a gin drink. Couldn't taste the gin at all. The bloody pig, however, was very good. The soup of the day (turnip and pepper) was excellent. The Mediterranean watermelon salad was average at best. The coconut shrimp was very good. The fried chicken and waffles were not good at all. The chicken was over fried and salty. The seafood linguine barely had any seafood in it.... Kids meal was supposed to come with a cookie and a drink both were not offered and we forgot to ask. They charged us full price for the kids meal. Staff looked like they were overworked and barely paid attention to our table. Overpriced for what was delivered. This was the only disappointing food place we tried in Quebec city.

It was my first restaurant in Quebec and it was the best. The staff was so friendly and the restaurant was really clean. Baby Pork Ribs and Seafood Pods were excellent choices. The potato chips served on the side of Baby Pork Ribs were loved by the children. The bathrooms here were better than the hotel bathrooms. If I go to Quebec again, I will stay here.

We heard a lot of buzz about this place and could not wait to try. It truly is an experience. Do make a reservation before you go though as general wait times are from 25 to 45 minutes. As soon as you step in, you are overcome by the fresh scent of brewing coffee. The guest services are excellent, interactive and engaging. The food, yes the food; its out of this world. Everything we ordered was classic breakfast/brunch items, but the way these dishes are put together is both interesting to watch and irresistable to eat. I wanted to stand up and start clapping, but, I couldn't!

Nice place, good location on the famous food alley. Waiter was very attentive and friendly. The food was okay, pot en pot was quite good with big chunks of seafood and the sauce was decently balanced, not too gloopy. However the poutine’s cheese was cold and the ribs were tough. Good flavour, but a bit tough to chew.

Loved the place! Plenty of options to choose from, and lunch menus come with a drink of choice. I ordered an omelette that was delicious, which included tons of potatoes (which I couldn’t finish) and was full of flavor. Our waiter was super attentive as well, and everything arrived on time. The only drawback was the time we had to wait in line to get in

Great atmosphere and friendly staff. Food was subpar. We ordered a couple of cocktails, french onion soup, duck wingette, chicken and waffles and the poutine tout cochon. The cocktails and duck wings were great. The French onion soup was decent but a little on the salty side. The poutine came cold, the chicken and waffles were way too salty, it was barely edible.
