I eat here everytime I'm in Prince George, great service, great craft beer list, amazing food (you haven't lived until you've had the brisket, the turkey blt is amazing too). Will always recommend to anyone coming through PG as a "must try".

We went here last night and it was awesome! We loved the burnt beef brisket ends, the potato skins were the best I've ever had! When dinner came, my ribs were huge and fall off the bone tender with a lovely sweet BBQ sauce. So good!! I had the caramel apple pie for dessert and it was delicious! Our server was very nice and friendly and got all our orders perfect! Great experience!

This little piggy has left the market.... hmm not sure which direction this place is going, dry, and overpriced, if I'm going to order a platter of $28 smoked meat, it should melt in my mouth, as someone who raises my own homestead meat, I think it's only fair to respect the animal, if you gonna eat it , it better taste amazing, instead I was left with a dry thistle like texture in my mouth, so let me just say little piggy ( and cow... and chicken) I'm sorry your death didn't end in mouth watering goodness.

The food was fantastic. Make sure to try the "shasta fries". Everyone in my group enjoyed their food during the Canada Winter Games. Our waitress was "Mercedes (8560)" who was pleasant, on the ball, and all around adorable. We would recommend this establishment.

A Prince George treasure. Prince Georgers ought to be pretty pleased that we have an eatery of The Copper Pig's calibre in town, and from the looks of it, I think we are. From the looks of the dining room at nearly any given time I think it's safe to say PG is in love with gourmet BBQ. This is now my go-to suggestion for out-of-towners, and I would say it's my favourite non-Asian restaurant in town. The atmosphere is great, the owner is super dedicated to being in downtown Prince, and the food is fantastic! I highly *highly* recommend getting the George St. Platter; it's a sharing dish probably good for four (though my brother and I have put one down on our own more than once) that will give you a taste of everything TCP is, or will soon be, famous for. The drink menu is a real standout, too: it's got a cool retro-chic vibe from some old-school cocktails balanced with some original infusion options, plus an all-BC craft beer list that will impress hipsters and local boys alike. The mason jar portioned pineapple iced tea is a great non-alcoholic option.

What I like most about TCP is that it can please rednecks and beatniks alike without compromising its image. It is just an outstanding eating establishment that I cannot recommend highly enough. Phone ahead; it's busy for a reason!

Good food classic look to a BBQ joint picknick tables and wood chairs but a little more upscale feel. Food was a little "fancied" up. I've been to Nashville and Jacks BBQ and prefer the classic approach it's all about the BBQ meat for me. That said everything was excellent. Was there solo sat at the bar and the bartender was great, food came fast top notch craft beer selection. Ill return again with different expectations now that I know how they serve.

The Pig, like my election, is intense and worth it.. First, I've been to (and worked at) my fair share of restaurants in PG over the years and have to say that I love the trend that the new generation of restaurateurs that are investing in downtown Prince George. The Copper Pig BBQ and Social House is another great example of what can be done if PG people are able to invest in downtown PG, joining the Twisted Cork, Hummus Bros and Nancy O's in creating great 'casual' non-corporate dining experiences for people that have matured past Earls or The Keg's corporate menus or The BX/Shooter's 'drink first, eat maybe' atmosphere.

That said, the Copper Pig was a great surprise to find in downtown PG. Located at a one-day great location on George Street if that Wood Innovation Center ever gets built the Copper Pig right now unfortunately doesn't have a great street presence but in saying that, makes for a great surprise upon entering.

The setting; The decor is PG original, taking advantage of high ceilings and exposed wooden beams with earth tone interior. There's a choice of picnic tables, bar seats, booths, regular tables or what is referred to as the social long table; providing for a hospitable and social experience with others. Another plus is that the washrooms were unisex; no piss-covered men's room floor; both washrooms were comfortably homey with no odors to offend. You actually felt like you were in a friend's house. We went on 'Bob Marley' day; where the music was nothing but Bob the entire night, which was a nice change to the usual radio-friendly background noise in other dining establishments. It showed that the owners care about even those small details in creating it's own separate image from other establishments.

The food. We went with family and I shared the George Street Platter, which was AMAZING. When asked about the size, the owner came over and informed us quite honestly that it would feed 2 grown males or 3 females and he was quite right. It had a great selection of choice BBQ bits and their specialty potato chips which was a nice change from the usual french fries that would be offered to fill up a plate such as this. While most Shared platters seem to rely on different shades of brown deep-fried bits and bites, the George Street Platter even came with coleslaw and extra sauces. Although the price may seem steep at first (about $45) considering that it was for 2 of us, gave us a great selection of BBQ non-deep fried meats and didn't leave us hungry I consider it a great introduction to what can be had at The Copper Pig.

The drinks; The Copper Pig is local and proud. It has a large selection of BC craft beers and promotes them effectively. There is whisk(e)y bar is well-researched and obvious care was taken in their selection. The drink menu also taps into the early years of bartending; when was the last time you saw a menu that offered sours on the menu. There was even a section called "Prohibition drinks" if you wanted to take your Grandpa there, I suppose.

The service; It's hard today to really determine the difference between good service and great service. That said, I would say that The Copper Pig definitely has good service. We were met with a smile, the owner came over and talked up the menu and our orders were delivered promptly. The waitress had no opinions of the menu, no upselling (note to servers' that doesn't mean 'would you like gravy with that? should be a mandatory question) . She left me with no impression other than to drop off a wine bottle in front of my obviously pregnant wife without explaining that it was actually water. So, some explanation about that would have stopped a few judgmental looks headed my wife's way. It's a small thing but when it comes to serving, those small things are noticed.

Overall; I heard that Brown's Socialhouse recently brought a lawsuit against the Copper Pig for using the word Social House in it's title. Being as how Brown's is another corporate chain that has it's eyes on the PG market, thanks to trailblazers such as The Copper Pig I only hope people remember that when it comes to making a choice between the two if Brown's ever shows up. It's not the word that makes it a social house, it's the people inside and the owner and staff obviously work hard to create that. The Copper Pig is a great addition to Prince George and I look forward to going there again.

Excellent BBQ joint. The four of us that went were extremely pleased with the meals. The meals were also huge. I could not believe how big the portions were.
