A perfect day to enjoy Knechtel’s - crowds are gone - breeze off the lake was fresh and the food - oh the food was SO SO yummy and the staff are lovely! Fish was perfect, fries were crispy, gravy was thick how I like it and that coleslaw is fabulous!
Great spot to grab some food. A little pricey for what it is but the quality is there! Friendly staff, tasty food! Not much more you can ask for in a busy location.
Knechtel’s is the absolute best place to get food in Port Dover. I had the Haddock Dinner and it was incredibly delicious! The fish was fresh and perfectly battered, the fries were perfectly fried, and the bun, coleslaw, and tartar sauce were fresh and delicious. I’m positive that you could choose any item on the menu and it would be incredibly delicious! Can’t wait to eat here again! Highly recommend to everyone!
The best fish and chips I've ever had! The lineup was a bit long even at the end of the day, but it was worth the wait. I sat at the picnic tables on the beach to enjoy the meal which was also very nice. I recommend the perch!
The BEST perch fish ever! Always willing to drive over an hour just for knetchels perch.
Tip: bring ur own tortillas and make amazing perch tacos with their crispy perch, fresh coselaw & right on tartar sauce.
Our family loves Knechtel's on the Beach. Although sitting down and eating in a restaurant is lovely, when you have the kids and they are excited to eat, swim, play in the sand, Knechtel's on the Beach is the way to go. We often boat to Port Dover, walk over to Knechtel's, eat our food at a picnic table or on the beach, boat back out! It makes for a fun weeknight adventure for the family.
Oh my golly ... BEST FISH TACOS, I have had in such a long time! I wasn't expecting to order these, but with rave reviews from the staff, I had to try them. Knechtels did not disappoint. Cheers, Spicy Jan
