Been here several times, eating a variety of items off the menu and each time I’ve been pleased with the food. The pho broth is tasty, the spicy beef soup is ooomphy, the rice and lemon grass chicken with sunny-side-up egg is well done. Vegetables are fresh and meat is not chewy.
Booster/high chairs are available and there’s plenty of seating inside so seldom are you waiting for a table even during the lunch rush.
Saw in a couple of other reviews that they rated the service as just being ok, if not poor. In my opinion the service is good, for what this restaurant is all about. It’s a $10-15 meal - other tables are kept clean and within a few seconds of sitting you’re offered tea and a chance to order. Pretty good in my book!
The food was average, it was fairly good portions however quite expensive for what it is. The meat was a bit flavorless. The service was slow and we only got 1 cup of tea however it was busy that Sunday so perhaps that's why.
My husband and I have been regular customers since they first opened- they remember who we are and probably what we want to order each time. We go back there for the subs, the fried egg on rice with lemongrass pork. My favourite pho is #28. I do enjoy a coffee on occasion as well. Are they the most "authentic" or the "best" in all of Metro Vancouver? Likely not. For instance, they are nothing like Phnom Penh but that wouldn't exactly be a fair comparison either. I mean how can you compete with that? What I will say is this place is 1 of 2 Pho restaurants we frequent that are local and we have tried almost all of them within 20 min of where we live. We have always been pleased with the food as well as the service.
Pretty much the beefiest broth with a hint of lemongrass.. Their pork spring rolls are very flavourful, distinct pork and shrimp flavour. Not too many pho joints seem to get the spring rolls right. As MacArthur said " I shall return".
At least once a week.... My family and I eat here at least once a week. Service is great and the food is delicious. Get the combo roll with a house special pho!
Love this Restaurant!. Love this restaurant food is Great, People are friendly and welcoming. Reasonably Priced :)
Had the lemongrass chicken on vermicelli with spring roll. Chicken was really good and generously portioned. Fish sauce was okay as was the spring roll. I wish the spring roll was a bit more flavorful however I will go back as its a good bang for your buck and the chicken is really good.
Good Food; Good Prices. Very decent Vietnamese food not just for Coquitlam but in Lower Mainland too. Pho noodle soup has all the trimmings including onions, green onions, cilantro, bean sprouts, basil, lemon, and jalapeno and a very flavourful and hearty broth. The lemon grass chicken is very tasty but their grilled pork chops are only average. The salad rolls are somewhat disappointing since they use head lettuce and not too much variety inside. IMHO their signature dish is the BBQ short ribs ... sometimes a little too greasy for my liking but the flavour is INCREDIBLE and probably the tastiest that I every had. It is a must try item at this place.
Excellent vietnamese food!. This place may be slightly difficult to find as it is tucked in behind the Costco in a small strip mall. However, it is worth the effort. It is very clean with excellent service. The vietnamese dishes are some of the best we have every experienced. Try the combo dish of spring roll, lemon chicken and vermicelli with an iced coffee on the side. Extremely tasty with the regular choices of hot sauce.
If you are a fan of authentic vietnamese food, take the time to find this gem. You will not be disappointed!
Best pho in town. Great service... even better food! We use be pho99 addicts but Pho Toan Thang is now our go-to pho place. Highly recommend it!
