The variety of food was not very big which is the only reason for 4 stars. The service and quality of food was excellent! They only bring out small amounts of food and make sure it is made freshly constantly. Our waitress was very sweet and attentive.

Best Chinese Food in Port Alberni. It is always fresh and cooked well. They don't cook large amounts like some restaurants do so one can always enjoy fresh cooked food. I have been dining here for years and when I go somewhere else for Chinese food., I always regret it. One thing I hate when I go to another Chinese Restaurant and that is, most of the time, the food all tastes the same.. This never happens at the Yellow River..
Really great! We did takeaway, everything was fresh and hot. Very friendly at the front as well. I loved the beef chop suey, lemon chicken, and chicken Chow mein!
Came here on vacation from the mainland with my partner and 5 kids. The place was very nice and clean inside, service was great and prices were very fair especially for childens buffet. Anything that was needed was cooked and served right away.
We went here on Easter and to Our surprise they were open as we didn't have a kitchen to cook in because we are doing kitchen reno it was great to find something available. Staff was very great and pleasant.
A good buffet for Port Alberni. There's about 12 main items which are cooked in small batches so everything is usually fresh. Every time we visit Port Alberni we come here for dinner. One of the better chinese restaurants here.
Really good. The batter was crisp. The veg had just the right crunch. All the flavours were bang on. Good Chinese food.
I never went to yellow River because of the name, let's just say I found it less than appetizing but the food is the best Chinese in all of Port Alberni.
Good was fantastic wasn't to impressed with the large fellow we had to deal with was quite rude and snappy and honestly I will go back and say something to the owners as I know them
