but it's SO WORTH THE WAITWe ordered 7 items off the menu for 5 people
Everyone was happy with the good qualityThe room was very clean & nicely decorated in a classical Chinese themeStaff was very friendly - kept our drinks filled- & didn't crowd us
Server was so helpful when we needed to change our orders due to allergiesThey offer both Chinese & Cantonese itemsThey also offer several kids options that are so great to keep little ones happy
If your in a huge hurry then feel free to go anywhere elseYou'll get substandard itemsYou'll get it off a buffet that has been drying it out for hours

Recently watched 3 large boxes of returned take out be dumped back into a local Chinese buffetYuck not a golden moment
Who wants to pay $15 to eat unwanted take out ?Or eat cold dry food that is " washed" with won ton broth to reheat n hydrate it

Awesome to see this little gem in Port Alberni. We stuck to the Thai menu , pad thai and red curry beef were yummy, golden tofu had nice flavour. Immaculate and clean inside, nicely done renovations. Very friendly staff!
This was a very nice spot! Super clean. We had several dishes: two Thai curries, Pad Thai, chicken fried noodles, pan fried dumplings, BBQ wonton soup and chicken with chilies. All were wonderful; particularly noteworthy chicken fried noodles and the soup. Highly recommend!
In town from Nanaimo and found this little gem. Very clean, nicely decorated, and very impressed with the food. Ill definitely be back!
Mmmmm good. This is a very clean friendly tasteful place I had the special ( curry ) was sooo good . Would defiantly would recommend it !! I will be going back !
Best asian food in town,but.... I was thrilled when this restaurant opened up,everything was genuine,fresh and not from a can.real, fresh ingredients.the couple running it are very nice people.i truly love the food,been there at least 10 times.the only negative thing i can say is...they truly need an english speaking server to help out the owners,as well as some help in the kitchen,because one man back there is not enough,the food does not come out together,by the time you get your last dish,the previous is cold,i really hope the service gets better,because the food is so good.
We'll be back!. First time trying out the Asia Garden. Clean and tidy, very nicely decorated, service was friendly and excellent. The food was wonderful, and we'll be back in a heartbeat!
Not bad for a small town. Nice to see some Thai dishes on offer as this town is overrun with terrible Chinese food. We had the golden tofu, huge deluxe wor wonton soup and the Thai red curry with beef with coconut milk rice. Soup was ok - broth was totally blah but had decent enough wontons, nice big shrimp, a few char siu pork pieces, some weird overcooked chicken and veggies. Golden tofu was HOT, super crispy and delicious. Red curry was supposed to be medium spicy but I was able to handle a few ladlefuls and I am extremely sensitive to heat. Overall it was decent and we would go again. Te server was nice and had a bit of trouble with English but that's how you know it's authentic!! For all the dishes listed above plus a pot of tea it came to $50 including tax and a 15% tip. I'd encourage people to give it a shot!
This venue serves as a great meal opportunity! Always fresh + always hot. Both Thai + Chinese cuisine are offered. The place is charming + cozy. The menu may be small but, the there are no bad choices. As it is a small business, they are only open for dinner.......from 4:30-8:00, Monday to Saturday.
Ordered the Chinese for 2. The food was fresh and the pork was to die for. Slightly smaller portions than I would have liked but the quality is there and will definitely go back for more
Absolutely delicious. Group of 3 split 5 items from Thai menu and all were very impressed. Beef isn red curry was the best, goes fantastic over the Jasmine rice.
There is no restaurant cleaner than the Asian garden for 100 miles. Might not be big but it is spotless! And I really liked the pad tie- the real deal. Has the required fish sauce, rice noodles, pepper kick, delicious! Now I need to return to try some of their other goodies.
This is the best Chinese / Thai restaurant in Port Alberni. Food is always excellent and served hot. Husband and wife team operation. Ivy is so friendly. We've taken many visitors and they have all been impressed even when we arrived 10 minutes before closing for a take out order: no problem!
