Quality foods was very clean and tidy. The prices are a little higher in some cases than we are used to on the mainland, for example; Bubbly is $2 more a case. The staff is very friendly, and of course, it's the only place to buy Chinese food.

The deli/ kitchen section here is second to none! They make the best Western style Chinese food on the island, in my opinion, and I use the pre-made dinners during my work week all the time. Prices are great, and selection is amazing.

We don’t have a Quality Foods on the mainland (that I’m aware of) so it was nice to visit one during my visit to Parksville. There is food downstairs as well as upstairs. The friend I was with chose a burger and fries from downstairs. I decided to try the Thai chicken soup and a small pizza upstairs, where we ended up sitting. They have lots of spaces to sit and the food was decent enough. Only problem was that the employee who works there took away my plate with my untouched crackers and bun (accompanying my soup) without asking if I was done - hence the loss of one star. Servers usually ask if you’re done before taking your plate away 🤔.
