I've brought out of town guests here this past month, all of them opting for different specials or from the main menu. All were impressed with the food, the atmosphere, the friendly service and no one except me commented on the reasonable prices, but then they were my guests. It will be my go to place as summer company is just beginning! Thank you Chameleon and staff for the excellent service!
We've always really loved Chameleons, so imagine how thrilled we were when Alecia (who worked there for many years and always gave excellent service) and her partner became the new owners! This cozy, friendly little restaurant has become even cozier and friendlier and offers the freshest and most creative cuisine ever! Culinary surprises are the best!!! ...and they've nailed it!!! We always enjoy our experience there. Just last night we dined there prior to a Bard 2 Broadway production, and thoroughly enjoyed our Chicken Schnitzel, Half Rack of Ribs with Chameleons' own housemade BBQ sauce, starter (5 star) Apple Crunch Salads and a half litre of red wine (sorry I've forgotten the name...but it was great!). It's not just their business....it's their calling!!!
This place is a Mike Drop 😋delicious! The seafood crepe was creamy, abundant with seafood, the Salmon neprune was perfectly made Salmon and scallops with shrimp in a delicious sauce. The house made brownie was fluffy and decadent! Highly recommend!!
Chameleons is perhaps a good name as you may not even notice this restaurant tucked away in Parksville as you drive the old Island Highway; however, do your best to find it as your tastebuds and stomach will thank you.
Chameleons is fully focused on the menu and not any overt theme or falsely created ambiance; but, that is a very good thing. The food is simply delicious and the value is great.
The seafood crepe is decadent and the braised short rib was tender beyond compare.
Don't even get me started on the Sticky Date Cake (sticky toffee pudding)...wow!
Also, an Empress Gin Martini for $10? Value and quality are over the top.
If you want the best food in Parksville/Qualicum, then look no further than Chameleons...even if they blend into the background.
First visit to Chameleons last night after being recommended by so many people and was not disappointed one bit.
Wonderful relaxing interior and the staff are very attentive but not over the top.
The food was excellent and really well presented. My wife has dietary problems but after talking to Alicia the chef ( her husband)made her a fantastic dill sauce without a thickener and a lactose free cream! Thank You Guy's.
Although the menu is not huge what they do offer is varied and done very well and obviously all cooked to order.

I have wanted to go to this restaurant for YEARS. It was well worth the wait. From the moment you walk in, the atmosphere is inviting and comfortable- like home. Staff super friendly from the owner to our amazing waitress, Leanne. And the food?? Unreal. Crab cakes were so fresh and the seafood crepe was outstanding. We will definitely be going back. Thank you for an incredible meal and experience.
oh my goodness this place was amazing! would give it ten stars if i could! the service was excellent and the staff are so friendly. leanne, our server, was so lovely.
the crab bisque was loaded with crab - as described. flavourful, crab-by tasting and not too salty.
the shnitzel was perfectly cooked and the gravy was very tasty - traditional and executed well. came with spaetzel that tasted like it was freshly made. the vegetables were perfectly seasoned and cooked perfectly.
the seafood crepe was DELICIOUS! i didn’t know what to expect and was glad i ordered it. it was loaded with seafood and tasted so flavourful and fresh. it was baked with the perfectly crisp crepe with cheese on top.
sadly we had no room for dessert.
at the end of the meal, they gave delicious chocolate mints with the bill.
would definitely come back here if i’m back on the island!
The food is excellent, the service friendly and prompt. Our golf group of 16 people were there for dinner one evening. Although their kitchen is not huge they did a marvellous job serving us all in a timely manner. No complaints from us! We had a wonderful evening…..definitely going back! Highly recommended.
Great food, classy yet simple atmosphere - happy we found this gem in Parksville. Had the Prime Rib Roast - delicious!!
Came here during my vacation with my wife and 2 year old daughter and really loved the amazing friendly customer service. I met the owner and she made us feel so welcome. The food was delicious and you can tell it's fresh and made with love. Highly recommend!
