When I was doing food research for my recent trip to Parksville, this restaurant kept topping the list when I Google’d, “where to eat in Parksville.” Of course I had to eat here and of course it was incredible. I got the eggs benedict with back bacon. The hollandaise sauce was so fresh and light. The flavour was so bright. I don’t like hollandaise sauces that are too thick or too buttery tasting. This was the opposite and still tasted very luxurious. The back bacon was some of the best I’ve ever had. You could tell it was quality meat. The eggs were perfectly soft poached. I usually don’t like shredded hashbrowns but these were fantastic. The crispiness and seasoning was just right.
This place is hands down the best place in Parksville to eat. Chef owner makes everything from scratch and you can tell. Seafood chowder is outstanding, light and very tasty. Egg Benedict was great with homemade hollandaise, as was the traditional breakfast. Not greasy at all like most places. If you like your food full of preservatives and artificial flavour, don’t go, but if you appreciate great home cooking with excellent flavour, this is the place to be.
Staff is attentive and very friendly. I can get warm inside, but everything else makes up for the temperature.
Bread and Honey is a local treasure. Small, friendly atmosphere. Great staff and spectacular food! I’m almost reluctant to post this review for fear it becomes so popular I won’t be able to get past the crowds at the door.
What started as a simple get-together brunch after the-wedding-the-night-before, turned into a discovery of an amazing breakfast and lunch place. In Parksville. Bread and Honey Food Company is small. It's located in a strip mall in Parksville. It actually doesn't look like much, but don't let any of that deceive you. In many ways, Bread and Honey reminds us of the original Locals in Courtenay, which also started in a strip mall. It's unfortunate, but once Locals expanded to a bigger and better location a few blocks away, it lost some of its special magic. Bread and Honey is all magic.
Amazing little spot! We came here for brunch and tried a few of the items on the menu. It was a recommended must-try spot and it definitely did not disappoint. Every dish was packed full of fresh ingredients and amazing flavours. The service was excellent and the entire place has a very homey and warm atmosphere. We were lucky to be seated when we arrived but I didn't use recommend making reservations beforehand.
Spectacular, well thought out, well seasoned, flavorful food. The fried chicken sandwich was outstanding. The salad and chips were all tasty as well, going to go back again for sure. Thanks!
I don't think it gets better than this. This was the only place that was opened on New Years Day. I have read a few reviews and says that this place stands out from most. We ordered a Brisket and Egg breakfast sandwich and a latte. The orange juice was a smaller than most you order at a restaurant though. I also ordered a side of hashbrowns and THAT was delicious and had a little crisp on the top and bottom. YUUUUUUM!!!!! Although it took a little more time, it was absolutely delicious. Definately worth the wait. It wasn't greasy at all. The service there was good as well. My waitress was very nice and attentive.
Some friends and I were looking for a quick breakfast place around the area but nothing seemed opened this early. We found Bread and Honey Food Co. on Tripadvisor so we thought we'd give it a try. This is a really cute breakfast place with outstanding service! Try the hash!
I have never had such an amazing experience from such lovely people in the food industry. The food is amazing, the people are amazing and the price is amazing. Must I say more?
Yum!. Bread and Honey is the best place in Parksville for a super yummy lunch. EVERYTHING they make is delicious (including the lattes). The atmosphere is warm and friendly, the decor perfect and the "Bread and Honey girls" (as my boys call them) are the absolute best! I can't say enough good things about this little place. Go try them out.
Wonderful Bread!. I have yet to have Lunch at this charming little restaurant, but if everything else is as good as the bread that the owner makes each day, from scratch, then it must be good. Buy the 8 Grain Honey loaf, which is not only yummy, but good for you, too! You'll have a much happier start to your day making your toast from this bread, and it elevates a grilled ham and cheese sandwich to the "divine" category.
