This is the best Thai restaurant in Ottawa, in my opinion. The Panang curry is excellent. On the whole, much better than the over-hyped Siam Bistro.
Been going for 2 years regularly. Best thai in the City. $11.30 (including tax) for soup and main course. Main course could feed two. Little cute dinning location on Kent street. Extremely fast service. We also place regular calls for pick up with only 20 mins notice for over 10 meals. They are great!
Hands down some of the best Thai food we've had outside of Thailand. The only 'complaint' we have is that it could be spicier - but it's kind of nice that it's not, as it shows they're relying on a good balance of flavours rather than just a chilli hit.
I think Coriander Thai is my favourite thai spot in the city. I've only ever been for lunch and consistently order the pad thai since it is cooked so well. Every time I've had it, the meal has been so fresh and full of flavour. Service is always fast and the portions are huge.
Yummyness!. I was just at Coriander Thai last week and it was awesome! I can't believe I have walked by there hundreds of time and never went in. The food had lots of flavour and was authentic. We had the duck curry, which was to die for and the beef and green bean thai basil dish also amazing. The service was good, price was fair, I will definitely be going back.
Good food but limited choices for vegetarians.
Had a great lunch very fast service very flavourful food and very good price.
Great curry. Each time I go, I have the light chicken curry with potatoes. It is delicious. This place offers many good options at a competitive price.
I will go easy on spice stars next time. I read some good reviews about this restaurant decided to try by myself. The service was good and the dish I had was excellent. I can't say the price is cheap (between $10 to $12 for lunch specials). I can handle spicy food pretty good so I ordered my dish with 3 stars. What a mistake! I think their 3 stars is equivalent for 4.5 stars at other Thai restaurants.
I will definitely go back there but I would do 2 stars this time. I suggest you to make a reservation during lunch hour. This place filled up very quickly.
Hot and Spicy. Coriander Thai had an amazing list of dishes to choose from. So much so that I could not make a decision so I left it up to the waitress to decide. She ended up bringing me her favorite dish, mixed sea food in curry and coconut milk sauce, with a side of sticky rice of course.
First off the sticky rice was some of the best I have had in Ottawa. Too often I find sticky rice to not be sticky at all and lack in flavor. Not here, they take their rice seriously. It stuck together in nice big clumps and tasted amazing. Rice should be able to stand up on its own in flavor and this did.
The main itself tasted amazing. There was a mixture of scallops, shrimp and squid along with a medley of veg. The sauce itself was spicy as promised and had a great tang to it. The dollop of coconut milk placed in the center of the dish helped to cut the tang of the sauce and give it an overall refreshing taste. The only down side was the the squid was overcooked and tough. The hardly took away from the dish though.
I will most definitely be going back for more.
