Amazing, underrated little bakery. People should come here more often! It's run by a lovely Chinese couple. Their selection of baked goods is amazing. MUST try the egg tart and the lemon meringue tart - it's topped with marshmallows and just melts in your mouth.

Great food, just like a bakery back in Japan. The matcha cookies are awesome, as are the danish and baguette offerings.

Go for a Skor square or almond cookie. Super hard working couple runs this bakery. Always worth supporting their business by chowing down on a sweet treat.

Delicious snacks at great prices. I often stop at Brown Loaf on the way to work in the morning, and grab a sweet or savoury snack for the day. Their prices are competitive compared to other bakeries and their products taste wonderful.

My favourite bakery! I go about twice a week for bread, croissants and cinnamon swirls. Run by hardworking & friendly husband & wife, very passionate about their work. Always happy to see them open at such early and late hours, though sometimes I honestly wish they would close a little earlier & get some well-deserved rest!

I've been wanting to try Brown Loaf for a long time - I finally did yesterday, and I can honestly say that this is the best baguette I've had in Ottawa (and I think that I have high standards for bread!). The owner was also extremely kind. Highly recommend!

What a beautiful professionally made croissant! Of course it's crispy outside, soft and buttery aromatic inside! Always perfectly shaped and, no mess after bites and bites and bites. I experience is the crispier the croissant is, the messier it is while biting it or even just holding it since the outside layer always comes off so easy. Half the croissant would fell off already before finishing it. I give it 6 stars for its perfection!

Very professional and courteous service. In business for over 20 years and there's a good reason why. Walking into this Bakery, the first thing I noticed was that it smelled so delicious. Just like a traditional Bakery from my childhood. Highly recommended quick visit to this gem! There is so much to chooses from and prices are reasonable. #localguide

It's the most affordable and delicious bakery in the area! I go about twice a week, usually for their fresh croissants in the morning and then a post-work treat in the afternoons. I've been working my way to try everything in the bakery. Favourite: plain croissant, perfect feuilleté layers and SUCH A GREAT PRICE! Pleasant surprise: The cinnamon roll has a cinnamon caramel coated between the layers, that is perfect consistency and not too sweet. Won't find anywhere else: French Basque cheesecake. It's the perfect balanced cheesecake! EVERYTHING IS HANDMADE AND FRESH!!!

The BEST bakery in Ottawa. Me and my girlfriend have our morning ritual to grab fresh bread every Saturday. The baker is very friendly and his 🍞 even delicious. Highly recommended.

It smells awesome inside and the old asian guy(maybe the owner?) is sooo lovely! He is all smiles and jokes, he made my day. I am going to bring these pastries home but I am dying to try!!

Charming bakery with fresh breads, cookies, and other baked goods. The owner and staff are wonderful, friendly people. You can have your fresh bread freshly sliced right there as well!

Family owned bakery, Brown Loaf is in the heart of Elgin. The customer service I received was great and the man working there welcomed me with a big smile. Their croissants 🥐 were delicious and fresh! I have had their pastries before and must say they bake it with love. SO DELICIOUS.
