We went for lunch (the buffet). It was perfect food, staff, and environment. I recommend the coffee ceremony too.
Really awesome lunch buffet for a good price and delicious Ethiopian coffee :) The staff was super nice and attentive too!
So great to have an Ethiopian restaurant in downtown Ottawa on Laurier just west of Elgin street serving buffet style lunch including the pictured vegetarian injera plate - filling and delicious!

Everything about this place was GREAT!
Our hostess took the time to explain things to us, especially once we explained that we had never had Ethiopian food before.
Presentation was beautiful. The serving platter was colourful.
Food was AMAZING! Everything was sooooooo different!
I am not one to eat (mostly)vegetarian, but I definitely will do this again.
After all that, what could top it? The fact that they are EXTREMELY affordable. For $40, tip included, we both came out very satisfied. It has been 2+ hours since we left and I am still satisfied without being stuffed.
A couple of warnings: You eat with your hands. The "bread" they use is to help you eat. It has a very different texture. It is almost like a sponge cake and a crepe had a baby. Virtually everything you eat will have a different taste and texture. The spiced tea blends in with everything so nicely! Finally, the salad with the D'Afrique platter is great to cleanse the palate between each different mouthful. The platter had 8 different tastes in it. Well worth taking as a first try so you can taste a bit of everything, pretty much.

This was by far the most exquisite Ethiopian cuisine I have had the pleasure of eating. The ambiance and the staff make it worth coming back for more and some more after that.
