Really very surprised. I've been walking past this place for years. Never drawn in by the look of the place. But WOW... Glad I did today. I got the $7.90 (taxes included) pastrami sandwich and LOVED it. Everything fresh. Very good size for the price. I am a Botega fan... but having alternatives in the Byward are good! Definitely try this place.
Great selection of Polish and Europe food. Staff here is friendly and speak both Polish and English. Most of the staff has been there for years, they tend to remember there clients.
I live in another province and had Continental Delicatessen put together a gift box for a friend. They did a great job, picked good items and even offered to deliver it. Elizabeth texted me with details and was great to deal with. Great experience.
The young lady who waited on me was fantastic to work with, she made me feel welcome. She put me at ease.
I was unfamiliar with most of their products and she patiently guided me through their selection.
The products I got were incredible. Cured Polish and Hungarian salami, a few slices of ham.
I'll return, and I cannot recommend it strongly enough to those who enjoy food.

This wonderful spot has has been there for over 18 years with the same owner which tells a lot about this place and its authenticity of Europeans selections from meats cheese European tea all types of chocolates and treats mostly found in Poland or other European countries. All I can say is that when you come in you will feel the warm welcome from the workers there. The owner is such a lovely lady and will take care of you. You should all try their paninis, sausages and cold cuts. what makes the difference is that despite the inflation and location the price is right. You all should try once!
I absolutely loved this little hidden gem. The store is clean. The staff are friendly and the selection and variety of items offered here is off the wall :) what's really nice is that it feels like a little vacation when you walk in and see all the honey, candy, meat, spices, yogurt, butter, did I say meat lol they have an amazing charcuterie counter with a bunch of polish specialties. I wish I lived closer to go more often. Will definitely be making special trip just to go back!
