Food here is normally good for pub fare. But tonight my order was less the edible. The fries in the Irish spicy bag were way way WAY too spicy hot to eat. I normally love spicy food, but these were so over the top that I had to throw them out. I also had ordered the had the hot wings, they were really mild in comparison. I won’t be ordering that ever again. I’m really disappointed, as I liked this pub.

I must admit that it's been well over 2 years since the last time I went there. The menu has changed and the club sandwich was probably the best I've ever had. Would order it again for sure. That being said, it was at noon on a Tuesday and for half the time I was there with 6 others, we were the only table of customers in the whole place until 1 other table filled up. Could be just the day of the week or COVID but I'm not sure why it was so empty. That's good I guess if you want the space but not so good from an atmosphere perspective.

Nice place. The patio used to be more open, but now it is a screened in porch, which is nice but very loud. Hard to talk. Food is pretty good, service good, inside atmosphere nice, variety of drinks (though I don't consider Bud & Coors domestic, or beer).

Had a lovely patio experience here! Staff was friendly and quick to help take orders. The beer was delicious and reasonably priced. We had the fries and they were delicious!

Really liked this spot! We stopped in to kill a couple hours and weren't disappointed. The service was great, the vibe was right, and the seating was hella comfortable.
We got to see the band Garden Variety play and it was a nice touch for the place! Would definitely return if we're in the area or find our way near the other locations.

I forgot my my wallet behind the other night, they emailed me (presumably from one of my business cards) and said they were keeping it safe in the managers office for me. I was able to retrieve it before opening. They were all very courteous and friendly throughout.
Edit: I should like to add, Hollie also took the time to come to the door and deliver it to me before the store had even opened. She was very polite and refused my insistence on a finders fee. I hope you guys pool tips when I visit next ;)

We waited outside, it didn’t take too long to get inside. We did our contact tracing and went inside right to the heated patio. We sat close to the door where it’s colder in the corner. We ordered the same meal; a triple decker sandwich with sweet potato fries. When the bill came, I was surprised to see that my sweet potato fries sauce was extra. The server didn’t even mention to us it was extra. She should of told us before we ordered. Next time, at least mention stuff that’s extra. Kind of cold on the patio but ok. The food was excellent!

We have been in a few times as this is right around the corner from our house. Yesterday we went in for a pre-movie dinner. I ordered the Atlantic Dill Salmon for dinner. It was the oddest dish I had ever had. The “Dill Salmon” had no dill, and was topped with parsley, which was burnt from the broiler. It was served in a dish with a combination of mushrooms, carrots and onions in a creamy sauce, topped with lemons, and then the salmon on top. The salmon, sadly, was overcooked and dry. Luckily I ordered a side salad so I had something to eat prior to the movie. I didn’t bother sending it back as we were crunched for time.
Hey Chef...rethink that Salmon dish. Mushrooms don’t pair well with lemons, or Salmon.

Ordered the dip and tasted like they dumped a box of salt in it. Ordered the fish and chips. The batter was raw on the inside. Won't come back here. Very nice waitress though. Very good service.

our party of 7 were seated at a great table on the heated screened patio. Lots of families enjoying their Friday night. I choose the shepherd's pie which was delish for $13.00. Reasonable pricing. A shoutout to our server Brittanny B for our great service. Excellent instincts. We thank you. A Friday night bonus was after our dinners a live band sets up inside tables are moved and the dance floor fills up. Such fun! Highly recommend

Pub platter delicious! Brought my youngest Son & Niece last night, loved H&S's own draft brew mixing cider & white beer. Nice having the little quiet room off to side, like a "Florida-room", good for chatting but you can still hear the band. Will be my new go-to place in 'Farrhaven' when I need a pint after visiting family lol.

Place has a lot of potential. The servers I've interacted with are great.
The downside is the owners aren't invested in the establishment. Last night, Nov 25, we noticed all our draft beverages we flat. We told our server who felt bad and offered us to try others, but it was the same. We later overheard that there was a known leak in the CO2 lines but the owners hadn't done anything about it. We switched to bottles and were still charged full price for the drafts. Disgusting and disappointing.

Ordered the chicken curry and chips. Everything was piping hot when it arrived and the curry sauce was tasty. The chicken was tough yet the menu suggested 'tender'. Have been here for lunch and had a wrap. It was average. Meh.

Great decor is the first thing I think about when I walk in the door. A lot of money has been put in the look of the place, but not much attention to the qaility of the food. It's a pub, should there be quality? Yes. Here? Not so bloody much. Menu is nothing to parade about. It's over priced. This place only attracts suburban residents. Their food is overpriced, a basic salad costs as much as a burger.

We have been a few times for food and it is consistently good. Personal fave is the after school special, a grilled cheese and tomato soup done up fancy. Ooey gooey goodness. <br/>Have also been a few times for drinks and dancing, and the live bands are always good, but the main attraction is the crowd. This is the opposite of the club scene, where everyone looks the same, and no one is approachable. Always a great mix of people, and we never fail to make friends.

The newest pub to open in the Barhaven neighborhood. Featuring a good selection of beer on tap, friendly service and a decent pub themed menu. <br/><br/>The fair sized patio is a big draw during the warmer months, while the large bar and dining room welcomes patrons who wish to eat indoors. Plenty of TV screens so that you can catch all of your favorite games, but they are not overly distracting so you are able to enjoy the pub atmosphere.

Great food, great service. Had lunch here today, the club sandwich on focaccia bread was delicious! Manager checked in with us to make sure we understood there gluten free options, server provided great service. 5 stars.

Somewhat disappointed. We went for a late lunch yesterday. It was not overly busy, so no problem getting a table.<br/>The set-up and design of the restaurant is nicely done. The patio was open but we chose to sit inside next to the open patio doors which was very nice considering the gorgeous sunny and warm afternoon.<br/>My friend ordered a caesar salad with shrimp and was happy with it. I ordered the fish and chips. It didn't take very long for our food to come.<br/>Unfortunately my chips (french fries) came cold and by the time our server came to check on us which seemed to take a long time, I had already finished my fish. She did replace the fries which was much better. The fish itself was fairly large and quite oily but the cod itself was good. I was disappointed that the meal did not come with a side of coleslaw as most other pubs would serve it.<br/>This was our first visit but not our last. There are other dishes on the menu that we would like to try out and hope for a better outcome the next time around.

Walk in the door and look around at a really nice place. Nice classy pub. Food is good and the staff are all really nice. This place is one level above all the other places in Barrhaven.Really like it,think I have new regular spot.

Food was disappointing. Disappointed with quality of food served for dinner. My son and I went for dinner this week. I ordered the Curry Chicken and he the Chicken and Waffles. Both dinner plates arrived at the same time. His dish should never have left the kitchen as it was visibly burnt with many black spots. The batter was a thick, hard coating on top of tough pieces chicken. Inedible.....My dish although spiced quite nicely was chicken in a pool of oil sauce. Not sure what happened but clearly the oil separated from the sauce. The wait staff and the Manager were good to correct the bill and offered to serve us other food but to me the time to fix this mistake had passed. I wasn't in the mood to wait for 1 or both dished to be re cooked or to wait on some other offering. Dishes which don't present well in the kitchen should never make it to the table!

Decent late night place. I went last weekend after a late night at work. The place was packed. It certainly seems like the place to be if you are looking to be with loads of people. Unfortunately, I had to scream at my friends to get them to hear me with the band playing in the background. This isn't necessarily a bad thing if that is what you are looking for. Big cross section of ages as well. <br/>I only had the nachos and they were just OK but this is a bar-pub so it isn't like I am expecting the world either.<br/>The drinks were slightly high priced for Barrhaven but their bill are probably just as high as they are anywhere else in Ottawa so I guess I should expect similar pricing.<br/>All in all it was a fun place but not a place if you are looking for conversation.

Nothing like the British pubs I used to go to. As an ex-pat living in Barrhaven where there are very few places to socialize and not much of a sense of community as a result, I was quite looking forward to a branch of the Heart and Crown opening up around here. I had been to a few downtown and had enjoyed the community environment they had there. However, the Barrhaven branch was absolutely nothing like those other branches, primarily because of the staff. Last night I watched entire families get carded when they arrived, young adults having their night out destroyed by aggressive bouncers carding them on the dancefloor! and barstaff who were downright rude to everyone who ordered. Certainly not like any of the British pubs I and many of my families members used to go to in old Blighty and not even is welcoming as their counterparts downtown. I hope this place goes out of business as I feel I would rather have a lack of community than one made up of hideous venues like the Barhaven Heart and Crown and the ugly, offensive people who staff it.
