Place is nice and cozy. Servers are very friendly and food was delish.🤤 I had the fajita nachos. So yummy.😋 Apparently the steak was really delishious too (from a friend). Their pub fries...uff. Drinks are made well also.😉
If you're looking for something not too big and just in the nook of westboro I'd suggest going here. Especially if you're feeling that pub feel.💜💙

Food and cocktails are always perfect and the service is usually excellent. Really friendly staff.
Can get busy at dinner time or on a weekend so best to call for a reservation if possible.

Had a really nice dinner with great wine and beer, the appetizer was a shrimp starter on rice, and my mother's salmon was the catch of the day. She was very impressed.
I had the chicken tacos and while they were satisfying and good I went for the turkey meatloaf. I ordered the turkey meatloaf. But the bartender had to come back and inform me they were all out. Disappointed, but not a huge deal. Will be back and will call ahead to make sure this signature dish is on stock.

I usually share my good experiences at places and always focus on the good of each site, but today I came to Churchill's few minutes earlier than the kitchen's last call. I knew I was going to be very close while on the way so I decided to call and confirm if I would be able to be served if I was 10 minutes earlier than 10:00pm and they said yes. A while after ordering me and my friends were addressed by the bartender who said they couldn't make our food because the cook had closed the kitchen 5 minutes earlier. I would have appreciated better communication and definitely not waste our time.

I love going to Churchill’s, it’s hands down one of the best places that Ottawa has to offer. Nothing but great service, love going for the atmosphere and the best drinks in town. One of the bartenders, Mike, always treats me well and is very attentive. Will always make sure to swing by when I’m in town, 5/5 recommend

Friendly staff but disappointing meal. Think I paid $24 for a chef's pasta special with chicken. While I was happy it had actual chicken versus processed chicken, there were fatty dark meat pieces not befitting a dish at this price and I thought the sauce was too much in that the pasta was lost in it. More attention to detail is necessary if you are charging that price for pasta. Also the only side was a slice of toasted white bread. Again, details.

We've been coming here for a few years and the place is totally awesome. Have tried a few pubs in westboro but always seem to gravitate here. The food is probably the best pub food at least in Ottawa. Very innovative and everything is just a bit different from the usual pub fare...and full of flavour. Can't say enough, try it out you won't be disappointed! Oh and kid friendly as well!

I want to love this place! My experience is a 10 when I stop in on a hot summer day for a nice cold beer but I will never again come for dinner! The nachos were horrible and it's hard to do nachos wrong. I will always come by for my summer beer as I love the rooftop patio but will stay away during the colder months.

Came here for a quick snack. Time from ordering to table couldn't have been longer than 10-15 minutes max. Had the hot wings and guac as appetizers. (Sorry for the blurry picture! The way they served the guacamole was neat, in a little tortilla cup) Loved the guac, especially after having craved it! Wings were crispy with sauce on side, but it was good-nothing particularly special. <br/>Bathrooms were clean...key trait of any good food joint..<br/>And the atmosphere was cool. Unique pub decor. Tv screens everywhere if you wanna catch a game. Our server was attentive and quick, mind you it wasn't busy for 330 on a Saturday

Worth it. <br/><br/>11/02/2016<br/>Back to Churchills, this time in the dead cold of winter. Weekday evening so a couple tables were open when we arrived. The only negative thing was I could feel a draft the whole time, and we were in the middle of the restaurant, not near the door : ( Otherwise we again left satisfied. He had the chefs creation pasta, and the smell as it hit the table was enough to make my mouth water. The sun dried tomato cream sauce looked a bit oily, but I didn't taste it and my better half loved it. The portion was so big he had to take some home and that never happens. Ever. I had the burger once again, and the flavor combo of burger, fries, salad and spicy Caesar was exactly what I was looking for. The burger was juicy but not greasy, and full of flavor.<br/>85 for two with 2 drinks. Thanks again Churchills for a hearty meal with fresh flavors.

Summertime lunch in Westboro.<br/>The Service was good (as usual).<br/>Atmosphere is relaxed and exactly what you would picture for an upscale pub.<br/><br/>Tried the Gluten free fajita nachos, they were good, not good enough for a "re-do".<br/>Company had chicken wings, thumbs up on the sauces! Maple garlic / BBQ were flavorful and memorable.<br/><br/>Caesar's are outstanding.

Always great!!!. Me n my girlfriend go here when ever we can we love everything from the apps to the cheesecake , they service was great helpful and happy to serve , and the ribs and smoked meat sandwich s were so good even two bites left , I feel like I must take it hope !!!! Yum

Great spot. Hope it can compete with other bars.. My favourite spot. Go there 3x a wk. but the hrs aren't set in stone and the kitchen closes at 11. The barley mow opened up down the street and I can't see this place staying open. They are gonna have to rethink everything since the mow is now here. Churchills has no drink specials. Strange food specials. And the bar is never fully stocked. Good luck guys. Would hate to see u guys close because of something so obvious.

Just Meh. I had the pulled pork and my husband had the reuben. Both were not bad but not memorable either, just really middle-of-the-raod average dishes that anyone can make at home. Also when I received my pulled pork it came on a hamburger bun rather than a ciabatta bun as advertised on the menu. This makes a big difference because the bottom bun was completely soaked through by the juices and inedible. When I pointed out the error to our server he actually tried to convince me that it was indeed a ciabatta bun. I'm not an idiot, I know the difference. He ended up checking with the kitchen who confirmed it was of course not a ciabatta but a "brioche bun" but he did not offer to exchange the soggy mess. The service also took forever. To their credit they knocked 50% of both of our mains for the long wait and error which we really did appreciated. Don't think I'll be going back though.

I love this place. It's just got such a great atmosphere. I've been a couple times for drinks but last night we decided to go for dinner. It just happened to be burger and beer night so it was easy to decide what to try. Sadly, the burger wasn't great. It was a bit tasteless and just way too much meat with the double patties that come standard. I had half fries and half salad as my side and both were pretty good. The portions were huge! I'll give the food another shot next time and maybe go for the fish n' chips or the pasta.

Great food for the price point. Living in the neighbourhood, I can safely say this is the only pub or near-pub type establishment in Westboro that I care to go to. The service is usually quite good, and the food is definitely beyond expectations for standard pub fare. The Churchill's Burger is always cooked perfectly, and the generous portions of both salad and fries (the half and half) are great, especially for no extra charge. If you're debating Churchill's and the Corner (next door), the only reason not to go to Churchill's is if you're in a group of 10 or more.

Poor grub. My wife and I ate at Churchill's tonight. My burger was really very good, but my wife's ribs were borderline inedible -- they were dry and tough and thoroughly disgusting. We told our server how poor they were, but she didn't seem to be overly concerned.<br/><br/>I'd prefer to send a private email to the owner(s), but they have no email address on their web site so here I am in a public forum.<br/><br/>Not impressed at all.

Figures. I am a graduate of the Algonquin College Cook Training Program ( Classical Cuisine ) and I have dined at Churchill's several times. The food is excellent and the prices great. Judging by some of the comments on here, it is no wonder Ottawa's staple restaurants seem to be Swiss Chalet and Pizza Pizza. Ever since moving to Ottawa 24 years ago, it seems to be a pattern of good restaurants failing and the mass produced frozen food industry winning. It may have something to do with being taxed to death by incompetent Liberals but I think it has more to do with a lot of complaining and tasteless customers. Greasy burger? give me a break. The Churchill's Burger is excellent and you will never get a better one in Ottawa. The only odd thing I find at this restaurant is a lack of Churchillian anything anywhere. The Library and Archives Canada has tons of Churchill images they may consider hanging. Go, you will not be disappointed.

Truth of the matter. So in reviewing some of the comments about Churchill's Pub in Westboro, I have found that the accuracy of some comments must be mistaken for another restaurant, on another continent. <br/><br/>This quaint and cozy little pub has so much to offer everyone and continues to impress me. As a frequent flyer at this establishment, I have never been so impressed by a pub's ongoing push for quality rather than quantity. From the daily seafood catch, brined and smoked St. Louis style ribs, and the famous smoked wings, (sauce optional because they are so good on their own) to the Colossal Caesers with homemade beef jerky as just one of the seven garnishes, this is a cut way above the average pub. <br/><br/>I implore everyone to try this little Westboro Pub experience and encourage you to simply try it for yourself. If not, more bitchin wings for my friends and I.

All round bad experience. Recently we went to Churchill's. It went something like this...<br/>We ordered two sodas, I ordered the soup to start then the daily risotto. My boyfriend ordered the side ribs.<br/>The soup came with dry toast on the side. Not even an option of butter. And apparently Churchill's thinks it's food is so perfect, they don't have to even put salt and pepper on the tables. I would have liked some, but the waitress was no where to be seen.<br/>(She was also never available to refill our $3 soft drinks.)<br/>Thirty-five minutes later, dinner came. My risotto was alright (once I finally got the salt & pepper) but the ribs were AWEFUL!!! Hard as rock, red in the middle with massive amounts of fat on the backs. Isn't the meat supposed to practically fall off of ribs? When we asked the waitress to confirm that they were actually cooked through, she brought them back from the kitchen, unchanged, and said that's the way they make them. The fat on these was just disgusting. Half an inch thick.<br/>She did offer to bring something else, but we were now an hour into this dinner and had somewhere else we had to be. <br/>And even though we made it very clear we were dissatisfied, a manager never came to see us. <br/>Well, we will never go back and see them.

Awesome!. I went to Churchills for the first time yesterday and was pleasantly surprised! I had never really heard of it but my friend had been and said we should go, so off we went! I liked the Pub look and atmosphere but what I liked even more is the amazing service and super yummmy food! We started off with their home made Jalapeno poppers and the Chirozo, Goat cheese and roasted tomato filled won tons. Both apps were amazing and so flavourful. I HIGHLY recommend the Jalapeno Poppers, the smoked cheddar and the cilantro sour cream make this app is a must when at Churchills. For dinner I had the Ruben and my friend had the pulled pork sandwich. Both sandwiches were really good, home made beef brisket was tasty and really flavourful! My friend also really enjoyed her pulled pork sandwich. Both dishes were served with fries and salad. Fries were hot and crispy and the mayo was home made and probably the best mayo I ever had! All these yummy dishes aside, I think the hilight of the night was the Caesar! This Caesar is the mother of all Caesars! It comes with olive, pickle, spicy bean, celery and home made beef jerky! I am not jerky expert, but I have had enough home made beef jerky to know this beef jerky is simply amazing! So, if you are looking for a casual pub night with great food with an innovative menu, that seems to change regularly, I say you need to try this place!

Great!. Food is excelleent! Jalapeno poppers are great, so are fish and chips, and so are daily salads. Bring back the shrimp lunch sandwich. It was soooo amazing.

Food at this place is some of the best in the city.. made from scratch, even the jalapeno poppers.. made by hand.. everything is fresh.. if you expect cappy pub food like the Oak.. go there.. food is actually good here.

Awesome!. My boyfriend and I have been here a few times and everything was delish! We love the chorizo sausage dumplings with spicy peach sauce for dipping. The first time we went I had a veggie stew with bechamel sauce on top, it was soooo good, but they have since changed their menu. My boyfriend had the pork chop and he said it was the best he ever had. We will definitely be going back.

Splendid restaurant. Nice food, comfy atmosphere and attentive service. One negative: insomuch as I have Crohn's, it would be nice if all the ingredients were listed. The green onions in the Churchill burger patty weren't and they're a trigger food for me. Will be back but will remember to ask about menu items! Super kudos to our bartender / server for making nice drinks.

The place is nice, casual, comfy. Good service. The Churchill burger was overlooked and strongly spiced. Not my fave. Fries were greasy not crispy. Good deal on beer. Went on st pattys day. Wasn't busy. Odd. The steak of the day was gross covered on aged cheddar sauce. The hash was flavorless. Nice place but godf not good enough to warrant a return visit.

A Cut Above the Average Pub. Love this place! Great spot for lunch or dinner. Newly renovated and a more contemporary chic take on your average pub decor and the service was so super friendly and helpful with advice on popular items. Great atmosphere!<br/><br/>I had the Stuffed Chicken which was really flavourful, generous portion and great colour and presentation. (Chicken stuffed with Monterey Cheddar Cheese, Bacon and Green Onions and topped with a Demi-Glace). On the menu it came with rice and veggies but being in a pub I was jonesing for spuds. The waitress was very accommodating and allowed me to sub for fries and caesar salad with no extra charge or hassle.<br/><br/>My friend ordered the Fish and Chips and she gave this pub classic a double thumbs up saying it was was deliciously flaky (perhaps a tad greasy) and I can vouch the portion of fish makes your jaw drop.<br/><br/>The menu features a lot of options you wouldn't normally find on Pub menu, like a Tandoori Chicken Sandwich my friend swears by to order next visit at lunch, as well as a Shrimp and Avocado Sandwich and Vegetarian Moussaka. <br/><br/>Westboro is lucky to have this gem :)

LOVED IT!!. Really nice atmosphere (kinda fancy sports pub-ish), super friendly staff and DEEEELICIOUS food! I got the steak special - HUGE hunk of meat, medium-rare, was cooked perfectly and had some incredibly tasty butternut squash (lots of brown sugar and cinnamon, I'm thinking!) along with some nicely seasoned garlic spinach. Overall - FANTASTIC! Will definitely be going back and recommending it to friends! :) V

Shepherd"s Pie Review from a True Brit!. The Cuckoo's Nest staff has been out and about sampling food from all the wonderful new restaurants opening in Westboro. I recently stopped by Churchill's pub and tried the Shepherd's Pie (which I was raised on, being a true Brit) and was blown away! It was THE BEST I HAVE EVER HAD! (Sorry Mum and Granny!) PS Fab Pina Colada's too! Service and atmosphere great!

I really love the chilli lime chicken wings. We went for Sunday brunch and were waiting for one hour to get our Florentine eggs and English breakfast. There were only three couples, including us waiting for meal. Two couples came to pub much later than me and my husband but there got their food in 20 or so minutes. Our waitress forgot to order our meal !!! After almost one hour of waiting I asked our waitress about our meal and she said that she forgot to order it and she is trying to get something for us from the kitchen!!! We left the pub with no wood but lots of "Sorry, Oh I am sorry ..." words...<br/>It was our first and probably the last try to have brunch at Churchill's on Richmond Rd.
