Great place! I really enjoyed playing pool here. First hour is $12 then every minute after the hour is 20cents. The atmosphere is great. The nachos were the best I’ve ever had. Would definitely recommend. The drinks were reasonably priced. Great for a night out

Got their food delivered and they did not disappoint! Delivered quickly, and delicious food. The cheddar bacon burger was so good, and filling! And their aoli is to die for!

Update: We used the pool tables ($12/hour as of April the 23). Great background music, sports on TV's, drinks and service. ---- Nice atmosphère and great service. Food was good and price was reasonable. I loved the aioli sauce.

Fantastic service, best wings in town (without exaggeration actually the best wings I've had in Ottawa). Pool tables are in great shape and a good value. Will definitely be returning soon.

Lane was the best server I have ever had in my life. I am exiting this bar feeling like I’ve changed as a person. My entire life course has been altered from this day forth. Lane provided me with the love and warmth that my mother didn’t. If every server was closer to Lane, the world would be a better place. I can’t stress enough: if you walk in this door, demand Lane serves you.

Ordered the Classic Burger with cheese and bacon… delicious. Super friendly staff. My waiter went out of his way to make sure the Leaf game was on the tv by my table. Recommend 100 per cent. Will be back.

Exactly as we expected but was pleasantly surprised that we could eat and have a drink Durning these Covid 19 times . Would have loved to play pool also but unfortunately all tables were book I guess there were another people as smart as us that had the same idea. Our waiter was very courteous and helpful on helping us decide. I am sure if you just want to hang out and play pool or watch sports in an old fashion sort of Irish pub way this place will work out perfectly!

Every time I've been to MacLaren's I've had terrible terrible terrible service. The waiters usually all just huddle around the bar area not serving customers. The times I've gone up and asked them if we could get some service they usually reply aggressively that someone will be with us soon and after another 15 minutes of waiting we usually just walk out.

My go to place for playing Pool and enjoying beer and have a relaxing time.<br/>Best pool table in whole of ottawa and that's coming from a professional player.<br/>Another awesome thing is that Glass are chilled too in which they server beer that's really great.<br/>The reason I didn't gave them 5/5 is because of slow service on several occasion , which I guess is fault of management for having very less staff.

Came here for dinner last night. I had their 12oz ribeye, which came with a caesar salad, mixed vegetables (Carrots, broccoli, corn, onion and cauliflower), as well as dessert.<br/><br/>The ribeye was pretty good, and cooked properly, but it was a little on the fatty side. The salad has shaved Parmesan and smoked bacon on it, which was actually really good. The mixed vegetables were good as well. For dessert we got their chocolate lava cake which was so rich my friend couldn't finish it (I don't eat dessert).<br/><br/>The service was friendly, however I had to basically remind the server how to do his job. He took our order and went to talk away, and I had to tell him "I want the steak rare" because he didn't ask. When the food came, he asked if he could get us anything else, and I had to ask for a steak knife. After he cleared our plates he asked "Just the bill?" and I had to remind him that dessert was included with my meal. He was friendly, but was not on his game.<br/><br/>The food was pretty good though and reasonably priced. I would probably go back.

The beer and sangria tasted good. The staff seemed distant and not to care much. You can play billiards here which is always fun and there are many tables.

Great place to watch the game. Tons of TVs and friendly staff.... food isn't great but that's not what you'd come here for.

Went for lunch with a large group from work. VERY disappointed! First we had a reservation for 50 but they only had 1 server and 1 bartender who didn't assist. Preordered appetizers but only half the group got anything. Should have been advised how much was required for the size of our group. Took forever to order. The first were finished before the last even got their plates. Kitchen was obviously not prepared for us. A colleague ordered wings and stressed ..well done. They came greasey and bloody. Sent them back. The same plate came back... Everything including the celery and half eaten bones came back cooked, greasey and still red. Complained but servers answer was " we don't have a fryer'... REALLY!!! Other reviews stated free pool. Not true. We were charged $12 an hour. <br/>Overall not a great experience. Would never recommend this place

Beware. They water down any drinks that are with hard liquor. Not sure how I could drink twice as many martini's than I could any other time, without feeling a thing. Food is very mediocre. Need new cooks, minus the crooks.

Consistently (consistently) bad food. It's fine if you want to drink beer and watch sports with your friends, but DO NOT eat there. Yuck. Even the basic pub appetizers like nachos and wings are inedible. Bad food, would be the gist of this review. And, they usually don't have enough staff on the floor to provide acceptable service. Even just for slinging beer. Better pubs exist just steps away from this one.

Pool & Petty Theft. Keep an eye on how much money the bartenders/staff take from you. Other than that, it's a lovely establishment. Nice atmosphere, well put together staff, great location, decent priced drinks (when they charge you the correct amount). So if you don't care about getting ripped off and cheated, I would totally recommend this place!!<br/><br/>A few months ago I went to MacLarens with 2 girl friends to play pool and have a couple drinks, we each ordered 3 beers and one table. The bartender let us know $5.50 for the beers, my friends gave him $7 each expecting a bit of change back to tip, but were given nothing. I gave $20 and was only given $12.50 back, but did not notice, as we were having a good chat with what seemed like a friendly bartender, and gave him a $2 tip thinking I was given my full change back. We got to our table and started talking saying that we didn't tip, and he didn't give us the correct change back. I asked another bartender how much a bottle of beer was and she told me $5.50. The bartender saw us talking and walked up to us and asked if something was wrong. I told him he never gave us our proper change, he automatically fessed up to not giving my 2 friends change, but tried to tell me he gave me $14.50, I said, no you did not and he went to the bar to get us our change...clearly knowing he was in the wrong. I told him we will not be finishing our game of pool, nor will we be paying for the 15 minutes of pool. He agreed and we left.<br/> <br/>Now I just met someone and they said the same thing happened to them. They had 7 beers between a group of them and were charged $150. When they told someone at the bar the next day that this happened, the coworker knew this girl and wasn't surprised.

Terrible cuban sandwich. This piece of crap sandwich called the cuban was a total waste of time for the cooks and whoever thought of it. the flavour was off. nothing about it was remotely cuban oriented, and it was over priced. all I got was 4 slices of ham and some cheese with pickles that tasted like nothing. anyone who knows anything about cooking would laugh at this sandwich... I wish I had never wasted my time with it. the creator of this sandwich should be shot for lack of taste

ATTENTION & EFFORT. One Sunday morning last Month I had Just arrived from out of town...maclaren's was recomended to me as the best venue for Sports....It is.<br/> The food is o.k.and the Alexanders were cold<br/>But is the attention and effort put in by the staff that quickly made MacLaren's my local.<br/><br/> RPM MacLaren Racing

Sports Bar.. Good food, comfortable atmosphere, plenty of pool tables to hang out around. Great place to hang out with the buddies while watching the game and drinking some beer.

Tried to make a group reservation only resulted in total frustration and the inability to reach the reservations manager. Whether by email, phone or even in person, after 2 days of chasing, we gave up and went elsewhere. Will never recommend this place.

Real Hi-Def. Looking for a place to watch some basketball on a Friday night with not too much going on, and was advised to come here. Its hard to describe this place because of what it offers. When you walk in, lined up around the perimeter are tables with really comfortable seating and has a restaurant feel. The servers are dressed in black tie's and white button ups, and the bar in the centre of the place had multiple taps and a good selection of alcohol. But as you look around there are lots of pool tables (even more in the back on the way to the washroom). So then you think pool hall. Then at the back of the restaurant you see 6 huge TV screens (at least 60") all in REAL hi definition (not that fake stretch stuff some restaurants would have you believe) and multiple smaller tv's on pillars scattered throughout the place.<br/><br/>The staff is more than happy to turn a hi def tv to whatever sports you want to watch. Most of the pool tables were in use, but there were not any rowdy patrons ruining my night.<br/><br/>Tab selection is your standard stuff, and only had the foccacia garlic bread to eat. I'd recommend this place for an evening of doing something without partying hard. I'm sure this place is great during playoffs and NFL sunday's

I had the smoked salmon and threw up all night.

I just don understand why anyone ever goes here...
