Huong's is one of the gems in Ottawa's flourishing Vietnamese food scene. Overall quality is good, and it's the best or only place in town for certain hard to find dishes like bánh xèo, bún riêu, bún chả cá, bột chiên trứng, and hủ tiếu sa-tế. Free parking in the lot across the street after 5pm on weekdays and all day on weekends.
Most authentic Vietnamese cuisine. I love this restaurant, especially for being true to the vietnamese cuisine. As much as I am not particularly picky, but I am with vietnamese food (since I am vietnamese).
I would recommend trying their Hanian style chicken dish, pho, rice wraps, bun Bo hue (spicy beef broth soup), Bun cha ca (Fish patty in broth with vermicelli) and just almost everything on their speciality menu. Don't be afraid to try various dishes.
The staff are also wonderful and efficient. Only thing negative, is finding parking, but again it's location falls between Chinatown and Little Italy.
The BEST Vietnamese food in Ottawa, hands down. Broth is perfect, and you can't go wrong with any of the vermicelli dishes. Their Vietnamese spring rolls (deep fried rice wraps) are so, so good. After going to Vietnam and having real Vietnamese food, I can confidently say that Huong's is the most authentic experience in Ottawa. Highly recommended.
This place is awesome. The regular menu is aimed at individuals not familiar the Vietnamese language. Having some familiarity with it, I order off the white-board and the regular menu.
If your are not adventuresome, and stick to the menu, you will not be disappointed.
What would be best is if the white board was also in English. This place could introduce Ottawa to the wonderful varieties of Vietnamese cuisine.

It's unfortunate that many diners will miss some of Huong's best dishes, for the simple reason that the specials menu (on a whiteboard on the wall) is printed in both Vietnamese and Chinese, but not in English. If you don't read either Asian language, you'd never know to ask for the Bun Bo Hue, which is a beef noodle soup entirely different from the more familiar pho. It's thick, intensely flavored with lemongrass and chili, and the noodles are fat round rice noodles rather than the flat kind. Another dish to try at Huong's (this one featured on the regular menu) is the Banh Xeo, which is a kind of large crepe stuffed with pork, shrimp and bean sprouts, and served with lettuce and fresh mint leaves.
Winner. From the friendly and polite staff, to the well thought-out and patiently prepared dishes, this unassuming restaurant off the fringe of Chinatown is a delight in so many ways. As other posters have commented, the spring rolls are superb - fully filled, tightly wrapped, with a satisfying, crunchy bite. I had the spicy crab meat noodle soup and its broth was infused with lemongrass, mint and onion in a deep, beef bone stock. It was unique in that no other Vietnamese restaurant in town has a soup quite like this. Very original.
There are house specials listed on a board hanging on the wall. They are all worth a try. The price is reasonable. The portions are decent. And again, the owner and his staff are very welcoming.
Great Springs rolls (A3). I have been trying all sort's of pho for years now, and Huong's Pho is great. However, the Spring Rolls (A3) are to die for! Simply fanstatic and consistent. This place is full with local foodies every week, and rightfully so.
Oh so good!. This is a place I frequent often. It has amazing pho, and I know people always say that about Vietnamese restaurants but this really is good. The shrimp salad rolls are HUGE and you get individual peaut sauce. Yes, the peanut sauce is amazing. If you are interested they also have a seafood salad that is to die for.

Probably the best Vietnamese food I’ve ever had. Food was pipping hot, there was an incredible amount of meat in the bun bo hue, and the flavour was extraordinary. The owner even took a minute to show me how to roll the spring rolls correctly, which I really appreciated!
The store seems to have plenty of regulars, and I can see why. The amount and quality of food you get is mind blowing with how low the price is. This is hands down my new favourite restaurant in Ottawa!
Hands down the most underrated and my favourite Vietnamese restaurant in Ottawa. The food is fresh, delicious and really well priced! I'd say around 30-40% cheaper than anywhere else but serving just as big if not bigger servings. Tried the bun bo Hue here and this is what it's supposed to taste like, so freaking good.
Staff was really friendly and you can see how hard they are working. They deserve the best! Overall, this place is awesome. I would HIGHLY recommend trying out the food here!
Best Bun Bo Hue in Ottawa hands down. Pho was also really good and the fried spring rolls were perfectly cooked...light and crispy. We will be back for sure.

One of my favorite places to have traditional Vietnamese dishes i haven't found in Ottawa since traveling around Vietnam. The owner is amazing and remembers my orders and quirky preferences. Easily a staple place to eat in Ottawa.
This is my favourite Vietnamese restaurant in Ottawa. The pho broth has a very homemade kind of taste and is much better tasting and less oily than any other restaurant serving pho in Ottawa. The pricing is competitive compared to their competitors. Have been coming in for years and will continue to do so.
You know a restaurant is good when it's packed with locals both dining in and take out. This place offers authentic food, and it's very quick. The pho was piping hot same the banh xeo was amazing! Well definitely come back. It is located just within the outskirts of Chinatown but there's plenty of parking.
