One of Ottawa's best kept secrets. Delicious and unique. Their dishes rely on the subtle flavour of the ingredients and moderate spicing instead of overwhelming with heavy overdone spicings. There are plenty of good vegetarian options on the menu and the friendly staff are helpful but not aggressive. The green tea leaf salad (with optional chopped chillis) must be tasted to be believed.

Incredibly tasty food. The squash curry is my all-time favourite but can't go wrong with the chickpea or eggplant curry (which I tried for the first time tonight - I don't even like eggplant as a rule but it was so good!). And the salads, especially the green tea leaf (and the papaya, and the ginger). Oh and the spring rolls. Yes I'm pretty much raving about everything I've ever had here. Fabulous service, too! It has a homey feel, the staff are so lovely and always greet us like friends. Tonight they brought my 3 year old some food to munch on while we waited, we didn't even ask for it but it was much appreciated. It's the small things. :)

A hidden gem. We had the beef with basil and mushroom & tofu stir fry. Both excellent, but the real standout of the evening was the Burmese coffee. This is just the kind of place I love to eat at: unprepossessing decor, amazing food and service.

Every dish was delicious, from the coconut soup to the green tea leaf salad to the chickpea curry entrée. Excellent service. Restaurant feels very homey and cosy. Loved it. Highly recommended.

My Mom is Burmese and I grew up on "Authentic" Burmese Cuisine. Definitely recommend this restaurant if you're looking for something to tickle your taste buds. Everything was fresh, and made in house. The only downside is it took a little longer than expected, but definitely worth the wait. My Order: Green Tea Salad (Lahpetthoke) 1 Vegetarian Spring Roll Beef Curry & Jasmine Rice (Amaethahinn) My Mom's order: Papaya Salad 1 Vegetarian Spring Roll Shrimp Curry & Jasmine Rice We both shared a pot of tea. Ate & Drank every bite. $70. Not too bad for the quality. Highly recommend it. GREAT alternative for Gluten Free people! :)

This has become one of my favourite spots to eat whenever I am in Ottawa. Amazing service and really delicious food. The more you go for the traditional Burmese fare, the better it tastes. Tea leaf salad, Shan-style noodles and Fish noodle soup are favourites of mine. The smoky aroma of their organic Burmese tea (which you can also purchase to take with you) is phenomenal as well. Highly highly recommended!

This restaurant is so unique that I must recommend it to anyone interested in Burmese food, or if you're simply interested in unique, flavourful cuisine. The couple that runs the place is so friendly as well, and the menu is reasonably priced. Not sure if the wine pairings fit, but please do yourself a favour and have a meal at Rangoon.

Owner is very sweet and friendly. The Shan Styled noodles were excellent, and big enough that I was able to have a small portion of leftovers the day after. Items are reasonably priced.

Was such a great meal! We had their signature dish, the Green Tea Leaf salad and it was delicious. The dressing on it was so yummy, and the added heat from the chili peppers was just the right amount (but don't worry, if you don't like heat you can just pick it off). We also had the Tofu Mushroom stir fry, and the Spicy Chickpea curry, and I would highly recommend both. They texture of the mushrooms can be a bit much, so I would split it if you aren't an absolute lover of them. Looking forward to our next meal here!

Great food and portions. Offers a unique experience and different cuisine. Definitely wish a visit. Prices very fair. I look forward to trying different dishes. Also, there are some great spicy and nonspicy options.

How could you not give 5 stars to this restaurant? The flavours are unique compared to anything else you can get in the area. Their owner is thoughtful and this thoughtfulness and attention to detail extends onto their menu and service. It's not a high end fine dining experience, but it has that warm and charming feel of a special homemade meal.

The owner was so very nice and attentive to our order. And everything done in an appropriate amount of time. You must try the fermented green tea leaf salad and the tofu and mushroom stir fry! The tamarind dipping sauce was fantastic as well. First time trying Burmese cuisine and Rangoon made it a excellent experience. This place deserves more business for sure!

A lovely little spot. All dishes were flavourful and nicely presented. The eggplant dish and their salad were standouts. Bathrooms were up a flight of stairs which might be an issue. Lovely change from Cantonese that predominates the area.
