I loved this place. One of the best service and the staff.. recommended place for breakfast.. lots of choice on food.. the coffee was good too. Quite big place and lot of seating indoor and outdoor available.
The sandwiches felt fresh.. the coffee had quite good richness in it. There are lots of pastries to try and also wide variety of cakes too.. the place was clean and well maintained. Free parking available outside the cafe.

The almond croissants are amazing- Crunchy, moist and the filling is not too sweet. The scones are equally as delicious! I personally love the plain scone as the crust is the perfect texture of soft/crispy. The latte today did not disappoint.
I will recommend and will return!

The coffee drinks are good.
Even though I am not a fan of biscotti in the first place, I have to admit that their biscotti are really good.
50 minutes roundtrip from my place, but worth the trip.
The only issue is they only have one location, too bad because it is an amazing bakery.

I chose the raspberry rose cake from the menu online, ordered by email, and received confirmation very quickly. It was ready at my requested time. The cake was beyond my expectations! Moist cake and the raspberry buttercream was so fresh. We also took home some biscotti and it was lovely. I can't wait to go back!

We ordered the double chocolate cake for my husband's birthday and everybody raved about it. It is weirdly hard to find a reasonably priced and moist cake in Ottawa, and this was so yummy, and reasonably priced. Everyone was asking where it was from!

Rode our rental bikes along the Rideau and following the directions from Maria in the Escape Tours & Rentals shop we stopped here for great coffee and pastry. Pastry consumed on vacation has no calories, right??? If the downstairs appears full, there is lots of room upstairs.

Nice little coffee shop in the heart of Little Italy. <br/>There is a huge selection of affordably priced tasty desserts, all to be washed down with their fresh coffee.<br/>Service is fast and friendly. Only downside is the cramped location, hard to move when there is a line-up.

Cute little pastry shop in the middle of Little Italy. They have such a gorgeous selection of treats, it's really hard to choose. The service is very friendly, and you can sit in and enjoy your treat if you want, although it's very small. I like to take it to go. Definitely going to come back and try more of what they have to offer.

High-quality biscotti in a huge assortment of flavors. There are a few tables inside making it a nice spot to grab a biscotti and a coffee, but I tend to get my treats to go.

Very warm and welcoming place! Went there for desert last night and everyone enjoyed theirs to the last bite. I could have been more generous with my rating but service was just ok. Although my crème brulée tasted heavily, it was missing the distinguishing crackly caramel topping that we come to expect from this desert - it was just brown sugar on top.

Delicious tiramisu!!! So light and done right. I haven't been here before the other night and I was overwhelmed with the options of desserts. The outside patio was a nice spot on the warm evening to go have the dessert, but there is extra seating on the second floor of the shop too. <br/><br/>

Great addition to the neighbourhood, Simply Biscotti is a long-time favourite I still visit on Preston Street. And thank goodness, they sell more than just biscotti. The Colonnade location has a very spacious interior, topped only by friendly, appreciative service and high quality baked goods for all occasions. Whether for breakfast, lunch or special dessert to bring to a dinner-party, all baking is spot-on delicious. This location does not have my all-time favourite Kouignette (available at Richmond Road location). Finally, espresso is perfect, just like the other two locations. Simply delicious!

The desserts at Simply Biscotti are dangerously yummy! Butter tarts are out of this world and the Americano coffee really hits the spot. It's very authentic and true to Italy. Super small establishment with minimal seating but nice servers and tons of patio space during the summer. Definitely stop by on your afternoon Preston Street stroll

Desserts, amazing. Food? Not so much. I do like every dessert I've tried there, always really good and reasonably priced. My favourite is the chocolate cream filled pastry and the little Macarons. However the savoury items have been hit or miss. I've tried three paninis, the first one was a simple ham and cheese. It wasn't nearly toasted by the time they served it to me, and was so dry, just bread, ham and cheese which for 8$ seemed pricey. The second sandwich was amazing, a scone with cream cheese and smoked salmon, I think it was a special that day. Warmed up enough and so creamy and great. My third sandwich was also a special, and was roasted chicken with gauc, arugula and roasted red peppers on marbled rye. A great size for the price and was decent. I thought the gauc tasted pre prepared though and the chicken also tasted like a prepared product, but as a whole it tasted good and was filling. My major disappointment was the 5.50$ greek salad. The veggies tasted as though they had been sitting out all day in the heat, the feta had zero taste and the tomatos were chewy and inedible. I ended up tossing it after a few bites. <br/><br/>I will still continue to go and try sandwiches and desserts but I'll probably avoid the salads until I see some sort of refrigeration or fresh preparation for them unfortunately.

Food and Coffee was ok - Service: Not so much.... Saturday night at 9:35pm. 3 Friends and I are craving chocolate and coffee. We stop in and are immediately told that the place closes at 10:00pm so it needs to be "to go". OK fine, we order and as we are getting our stuff 8 more ladies come in with similar cravings. They are handled rudely by the 2 girls behind the counter. Warning them that they close at 10pm. No seating and no real cups or plates because they have already washed the dishes for the night. There are tables and chairs available but they would need to go outside in -20 C weather instead. The ladies get frustrated and leave telling the workers that if the place is closed at 10pm, don't start closing at 9:30pm. The employees clearly did not care and offered no apologies.<br/>This makes 12 people that will most likely never go there again. Money and customers lost. They are not the only place in town with coffee and cookies.

I was in recently, and the atmosphere of this place was really tense. The owner seemed to be overpowering and disrepectful to her employees. The staff are extremely welcoming and very nice- the food it amazing. I can no longer support a business who doesn't treat their employees right.

Fly me to the moon. This place is the greatest. The desserts to the coffee to the staff and to the owner Rosa. I would like to address Desiree-white as a trash talker dolt but I will move on to a positive review.<br/>I am in the neighborhood a lot and SB is one of those places that makes you stop in. The lobster tail is more than special. All the cheese cakes are amazing and the eclairs are my favorites. You will find no better desserts and people at SB. Don't listen to brats that write bad reviews about her chocolate cakes. Some people are just not meant for this world. I dream about this Rosa and thank her for her dream fulfilled. The proof is in the line ups and second location. God bless.

Disappointing. I was disappointed after so many raving reviews of this bakery. <br/><br/>I woke up with an intense chocolate cake craving and decided to try Simply Biscotti. <br/><br/>When I got there the service was very nice, the girl was exceptionally friendly and was quick to offer suggestions. They did not have anything that resembled chocolate cake though. I ended up buying a chocolate caramel cupcake as it was the only chocolate cupcake they offered and when I got it home, discovered that it was gluten free and not even close to the same texture of cake. It was more like a cold paste. There was nothing chocolatey about it either.<br/><br/>If I'm being honest, next time I have a craving for chocolate cake I think I'd have better luck at the nearest Loblaws.

Took my girl friend here tonight for some delicious treats for her birthday..<br/>Although, we just walked in and we were unsure of what to get since there was so many desserts to choose from, one of the employees asked us rudely if we knew what we wanted to get. She clearly saw that we had just walked in and we weren't clear on what we wanted.. She seemed to have rushed us. <br/>She was just sooooo rude throughout the whole experience. No one wants bad service like that at all. <br/>She didn't even say your welcome or wished us a good night or anything! She looked miserable and looked like she hated her job. <br/><br/>Anyways, aside from that.. We've been going to this spot for a couple years now and that's the first time that's happened. <br/>Desserts are amazing though!!!! Just needs a lot of work on the customer service.

Love This Place!. We were walking in Little Italy and decided to stop in for a snack. We noticed this cute little bakery and was instantly attracted to it. When we walked in, we noticed that the bakery was quite small. They had a few tables but it was hard to walk as they were close together. We went to the front of the bakery where the counter was. We were greeted by two kind individuals behind the counter. They asked us what we wanted to order and we decided on two cannolis. We then noticed that they sold packaged items on the shelves at the right-hand side. We scanned the shelves and noticed that they make their own biscotti which were packaged and ready-to-go. We chose two packages of ready-to-go biscotti and paid for the items. The cannoli were to DIE for! We had never had cannolis as delicious as these were. They were fresh, tasty, and crunchy. They weren't too sweet, just the perfect amount of flavour. We decided to eat the biscotti at home and were pleasantly surprised at how amazing they tasted! They weren't hard (like most biscotti), and had a homemade taste which can only be achieved when baking at home. This place was one of the best bakeries I had ever been to! Will definitely recommend if you are ever in the area.

Everything you want in a bakery. I'm quite surprised at SB's current 81% rating. I'm a pretty critical eater, and I can't for the life of me think what people might not like about SB. The pastries are authentic, rich, fresh, and diverse, and there's a plethora of other options. Perhaps some have had sandwiches here that they've not enjoyed, or something, that is my only thought -- but then again, why did you go to a biscotti shop and order a panini? Get some damn biscotti. Now. Go. It's delicious.<br/><br/>PS: If you think you don't like biscotti, you probably do. You just don't like the tooth-breakingly crunchy biscotti served elsewhere. SB offers up melt-in-your-mouth, cookie-esque biscotti. Obviously dip in coffee for best results.
