Excellent catering! AND Home cooking!. Everything in this family owned and managed cafe is home made and prepared with the healthiest and freshest ingredients you can find. I have eaten here for over 5 years now both breakfast and lunch and would recommend it to anyone in the area. My company also uses them for catering all the time. The food is always on time, hot and they have always been able to accommodate any allergies or food aversions my staff might have. They treat every customer like family, service with a smile! The owner and manager are always available if needed and are THE friendliest people in downtown Ottawa! Wraps, paninis, taco salad, soups, salads,curry, stir fry, lasagna you name it and they make it from scratch! Last but not least, their cookies are heavenly! Nut-free to top it off:) Looking forward to next time!

Found them online and loved that they said they have GF options. So I walked 15mins and by the time I got there, they weren't serving breakfast anymore. But the employee was so nice and made me an egg blt with the lettuce acting like the bread because they had no GF bread. Very happy with this place and will definitely be returning!!
Guaranteed good every day. I go for a roast beef or chicken wrap with hot Dijon plus 2 chocolate macaroons for &9.99. Love it. Folks there are wonderful.

Tasty, Quick, & Gluten-Free Options. Had lunch here today after seeing on this site that it was GF-Friendly. The staff were friendly, professional and very fast despite the heavy lunchtime traffic. The steam line server recommended the beef stew as GF and was quick to add that he would substitute salad for the side of bread. However, at the cash, a bit of disappointment: their coconut macaroons are GF (which is nice) but the cashier served them to me with the same tongs that she had been using on all the other non-GF baked goods... which means they were contaminated with gluten. I should have said something to her but there was a big line-up behind us and I was now craving macaroons (I paid for it later!) so I just kept it to myself... next time, I'll speak up. And I will be back if I'm in the neighbourhood at lunchtime. GF-friendly but be on your guard (if you're celiac).
Fridays enchiladas. Great place for a quick casual lunch with simple homemade like food. The friday enchiladas are great. The free lemon ice water dispenser is a nice touch.

Wednesday for Lunch I met up with a friend who talk about how each of our new businesses was going. My friend suggested we visit this quaint little cafe with good food at affordable prices in downtown Ottawa. With this, we headed to Cafe Deluxe ( 77 Metcalfe Street, Ottawa ). We arrived to a small cafe style restaurant. The only thing, where exactly do you order? Good thing my friend had been there multiple times and was welcomed by more than one of the staff. As we were the only two customers ordering at that time, it worked well. But where's the menu? When facing the counter and the staff preparing your orders, the customer needs to turn around to see the menu. Yes, the menu is, confusingly, behind you written on chalk boards. I took a quick review of the menu and settled on one of the weekly Wednesday specials. The Order : 1 Chicken Club Sandwich with fries and a bottle of Coke. One of the ladies behind the counter started work right away on the sandwich and inquired if I would like it taken to my table where I could wait. Sure! Now with table service do I pay the cashier or wait for the server to bring it to me? I decided to be honest and head to the cash. Good thing I did, I was asked by the cashier what I ordered and paid for it. Twelve dollars and change for a club sandwich with fries and drink? I wasn't sure if the price was worth it. I sat down with my friend who kindly waited for my sandwich to arrive before eating. No worries though, my order arrived about 2 minutes later. The club sandwich was cut in fours and neatly stacked on top of the fries around the edges of the plate. Taste wise the white bread along with the tomato and lettuce was fresh. One of the better fresher tasting club sandwiches and well worth about the same price as the neighbouring pubs. The fries were freshly made with golden brown outside yet not crispy overcooked. I am obsessed with the cookies at this cafe. They are delightful and simply the best in Ottawa (and beyond)! The staff are super friendly and the establishment is very clean. The breakfast, lunch and dinner options also look delicious. I look forward to trying those soon. I highly recommend this cafe.

My colleagues took me for lunch here the other day and I got the club sandwich, it was fresh and very delicious.
I usually leave home in a rush and don't always have time to make breakfast so I have been looking for a local place that makes fresh food, that is open early.
After discovering this place and having the amazing club sandwich, I decided to try the breakfast.
I ordered the BK wrap, which comes with a small coffee for only $6.77 after tax !?
Needles to say, It was amazing.
The coffee was fresh and the wrap even fresher. The beyond reasonable price and the friendly staff was just the cherry on top.
If you work in the downtown core, and are looking for some homemade food, I highly recommend Cafe Deluxe.

Cafe Deluxe catered our u14 Provincial ski race. They prepared 800 boxed lunches over 4 days. They were a pleasure to work with, very accommodating and the lunches received rave reviews by the 12/13 year old athletes, accompanying parents, volunteers and ski patrol!
This place is a godsend, they are a very kind hearted business who donates at least 1 meal a week to every guest at the Ronald McDonald house, delivered every Wednesday to RMH. As a guest I love looking forward to a nice home cooked hot meal , being away from home while our sick infant is in CHEO is just one extra thing not to worry about. Eating tends to be on the run, with mostly snacks as meals. This past week they kindly delivered Cajun chicken pasta and it was fantastic, everyone at the house was raving about how great it was and how much we all look forward to having a real meal once a week. Just want to say thank you to these wonderful people who graciously donate to this much needled organization 💕

One of the best place around this part of downtown to get a quick bite to eat. Daily menus with multiple choices. Soups, paninis, salads, and hot meal options. The place is very clean and very well ran. Everything I've tasted was good to great. The food is fresh and the put the effort to make it look good and taste good. If you like cookies, they have an excellent selection. And this is a very affordable place.
