I am staying at the hotel for a couple of nights and didn’t want to venture out too far on Feb 20, 2018 so I settled in for a bite at the lounge.
Server came by quickly and the lounge was quite busy. After being given enough time with the menu, I ordered the buffalo cauliflower and a Caesar salad. Both items came quickly. Cauliflower was lightly breaded and nicely spiced. Good thing the creamy sauce was there to break up the spice. Both dishes tasted a bit too acidic for me but both were delicious. Loved the chunks of jerky-like meat in the salad and the fried chicken skin. Yum.
Overall service was lovely and I didn’t feel rushed even though it was busy. Total was $34 (includes taxes and a virgin Caesar). Pretty good for downtown Ottawa.
Really great selection of high end cuisine with a healthy twist, without compromising flavour. I always enjoy every meal at the Arc Lounge. It's a great spot, conveniently located in the heart of the downtown core. I love supporting the boutique hotel industry because they offer a true glimpse of the city. Enjoy your stay and your meal at the Arc! I know I did ;)
Last night my husband and myself along with another couple of good friends enjoyed one of the best meals we have ever had! The dining area was quiet and intimate, the service was so friendly and efficient and the food was over the top wonderful! The 4 of us were amazed as each plate was presented. The steak , elk and scallop offerings were all Melt in Your Mouth! We will return ! Overall fabulous experience well worth the price and for myself the extra WW points!
The Arc Lounge is the perfect high end restaurant to celebrate a special occasion with your love. The settings and atmosphere are cozy and the service was superb. For the second time this year, I chose the Elk Ranch ribs and the meat and vegetables were prepared to perfection. We had a lovely dinner.
Due to a small mix-up related to my
appetiser (beer tartare, yummy!), I was given a free martini. Service was impeccable and the food excellent. We'll be coming back again!
Creative Lunch Menu. Want to have a real culinary dining experience, a special lunch to remember? A place where the chef really thinks about his menu and puts his heart and soul into his work? Ottawa is famous for the big, plastic menu restaurants. A thousand options but who wants them? Tired tex-mex rip-offs, meat and potato blah, a huge pile of fries. Is this what impresses people, really? I had the pleasure of dining at the Arc Lounge. I had a delightful fish and chips dish that wowed. The fish was crisp but not oily. The fries were a perfect compliment, not dumped on my plate as an after thought. I have never had such a fantastic dish and I lived in England for 13 years. The whole experience was very positive. I will return for more!
Fantastic Senses. I had a great experience at Arc Lounge during a stay in Ottawa. The quiet atmosphere and the fabulous fair from the chef ended our weekend fantastically!
My father, an amateur food enthusiast described each dish as a masterpiece with much enthusiasm. Chef Duffy’s dishes take top prize for creative plating. I think the pictures speak for themselves. A little wow was whispered as each plate arrived at the table. Food isn’t at the standard the place is aiming for; however, the food is good. Is that just another way of saying it is overpriced for what you get? Maybe. I still come back for business lunches and enjoy what I eat.
