You like good italian food and great wine selection? Look no further. The warm welcome from staff is only surpassed by the spicy italian sausage. Try the Rigatoni Giuliana if you love chicken and mushrooms in a beautiful rose sauce....
This is a classic! The food is deliciously authentic, the wine list is extensive, the service is impeccable, and the owner even greets you at the door! Highly recommended.
I hate to start this review on a bad note, but the first part of our trip to Caffe Trattoria, parking, was one. Their parking lot it quite cramped and it was difficult to maneuver the car into a spot. Unfortunately, the man at the front of the house seemed a bit unwelcoming. The decor is sort of classic Italian, buy maybe a bit outdated. But the view from the restaurant is nice and the snowy landscape paired with the Christmas music they were playing really set the mood for my lunch. The waitstaff was quite friendly and attentive. I ordered the Linguine alla Trattoria and it was honestly one of the best pastas I've had at a restaurant, I'd recommend it to anyone who's unsure of what to get. The bread came at the same time as my food, which I'm not used to. The bread was a bit too dry, but at least it was warm from the oven. A slight nitpick: it came with butter, but I generally expect olive oil and balsamic vinegar from places like this. And I feel like their prices are just a tiny bit high for what you get, but that pasta was so good that I would recommend checking out this restaurant.
The food (ravioli and tortellini) was good and the service was great. The tiramisu was amazing. Nice relaxed vibe. The owner, Dominic, was really friendly and even gave us some Grappa on the house for the anniversary we were celebrating.
The manicotti is absolutely amazing! Definitely worth a try if you love ricotta and spinach. The staff was friendly and the service went pretty quickly! I will most definitely come back!
Was recently at Trattoria Italia with my girlfriend for dinner. We sat at a high top table near the front windows. For appetizers we had the caprese salad, carpaccio and the Gamberi Gognac (Shrimp). The shrimp and sauce were amazing! Our main courses were the Linguine Pescatore in tomato sauce and the Sogliloa al Limone. Both were delicious. The ambiance was very pleasant and the accordion player came to our table - we even got a few couples up dancing. Thank you Domenic for a lovely evening!
Good food (had a veal parmigiana), my date had a pizza, and a very impressive wine list. A good spot!
The service was friendly, and the woman serving us was quite engaging in conversation. The ambience was nice, but a bit quiet (however - we went on a cold, snowy weeknight).
Traditional cooking but comforting and cozy meals like a home cooked meal. Nice staff and great decor for the holidays. Pasta great and the veal dishes too. Desserts are ok. The best was their broth based soups. Satisfying.
Inexpensive but tasty italian meal. We've always had a great meal here- it's not overly fine dining, but the spaghetti and meatballs are delish!
Check it out - great food. Love this place. The FOOD is definitely worth your time. always great. Service normally great and all in all one of my favorite restaurants in the CITY. Check it out.
Great place, the people posting negative reviews are clueless.. I am a private contractor who has been to every inch of this restaurant. The pasta, pizza dough and sauce are homemade. The people that said the sauce is from a can and the pasta is not homemade. Stop posting reviews on anything food related. You don't have a clue what your talking about.
The interior is classical Italian, with musicians brought in on special occasions. The wine list is the best. Food is great and service was great. This is where Italians go to eat Italian food.
One of my favorite places to eat in the city.
SOOO FRESH! I love this place it's great for a date. A lot of love and the service was great vary friendly staff. I will be back many times.
A wonderful Friday evening dinner at Trattoria Caffe. We went there on whim while strolling on Preston St. Would have loved to be seated on their rooftop patio but they said they had closed it. This was a little after 8pm, which we found weird for a Friday Eve. Anyway, the food made up for it. The bread rolls were warm and soft. Linguine with salmon bits was pretty amazing. I never knew pasta with fish in it could taste so good. The chicken mains were delicious too, very moist chicken breast with a generous coating of sauce. The tiramisu was ok, I've definitely had better. It was a little on the drier side and you didn't really taste the coffee liqueur. I would go again to try their pizzas and the extensive wine collection their menu boasts of!
We came in this evening with a reservation for large party. The staff was lovely and everyone enjoyed their meals. Great ambiance. One thing I have to highlight is that our waitress was an absolute pro. A large group is difficult, especially one that has people moving between to tables to talk to everyone. I wish I got her name because I would love to sing her praises properly. From start to finish she was on top of everything. Thank you for a wonderful evening.
Booked a private dinner for my parents’ 50th wedding anniversary in the restaurant’s wine room and were very happy with the entire evening. Maggie was very helpful with everything leading up to the night providing quick responses to questions and complete and accurate information. Menu was easy to arrange and flexible including options for kids in the group. The food was excellent. Service from Sophie and others was superb making sure we were well taken care of. Room was well appointed and gave us a private space to enjoy our night together. Planning and execution was great and the restaurant delivered on all fronts. Thanks so much to everyone at the restaurant who made this a memorable and enjoyable evening.
