First time trying Meatings and thought the food was fantastic. Nicely tender smoked meats. Pulled pork was juicy still and the brisket was nicely seasoned and mid fatty without being salty. Nice deck out front to sit and eat. Went on a weeknight and it wasn't busy so plenty of space to relax. Good canned beer selection as well!

Amazing food & superb service as always. The only two knocks for me were the beer tap availability and the lack of indoor seating. They say they have beers on tap but they only had 1 “tap” (more of a redneck tap - cooler with hose and pour spout) and that tap wasn’t working. Won’t stop me from going back though as the food is by far the main attraction!! :)

Amazing bbq food and generous portions! The owner is very personable. The location is a bit difficult to find, it's off of a quiet road at the back of the building. The inside seating was very limited, but I heard they've recently expanded that. Based on my experience last time, I would do take out here rather than dine in.

We visited this place looking for some good classic BBQ and this place delivers. We had a sample platter for 2: beef brisket, pulled pork, mac n cheese, coleslaw, and cornbread. Portions were good and staff was very friendly. We would come here again!

We have been enjoying Meatings BBQ for a couple of years now, and when it came time to plan our backyard wedding there was no doubt that we would have Meatings cater it and that our guests would be treated to an amazing meal. Matt and his staff are friendly and courteous, and go out of their way to provide top notch service. Lydia, their wedding coordinator, was patient and kind, especially while we made frequent changes due to the pandemic, and she always made time to answer any questions we had. The food was delicious and our guests have not stopped talking about it - we would give them 10 stars if we could! Thank you so much for being a part of our wedding and going above and beyond for us. We will continue to highly recommend Meatings.

Amazing barbecue place that you can tell have mastered their craft. Great food and very welcoming staff. Try their sandwiches! They’re amazing!

Meatings catered our private event last night and I have to say, it was a truly incredible experience. The only thing better than the quality of the food, was the quality of the whole Meatings team who made sure that every person there had a tremendous meal. I mean where else can you get A5 Waygu tartar, Iberico pork, waygu beef brisket, and so many other insane dishes all in the span of one evening. Either hire Meatings, or go visit them on the east end. You won’t regret it!

Meatings on Canotek is incredible! The best restaurant around, but the disappointed with the restaurant in Sensplex. Ordered nachos ($17) and added brisket for $6 and there was a few tiny bits. We will wait until the summer to go back to Canotek.

The best ribs in town. We arrived late, and because of the Craft Beer Festival a short walk away, they were running out of product. Our trio involved BBQ chicken drumsticks, and 4 ribs each. We got 4 ribs as they were out of pulled pork, beef brisket, and jackfruit. I could understand a small place running out of stock. The food we did get(the ribs, chicken, BBQ beans, tater tots, mac n cheese, coleslaw​, pecan tart, and deep fried cornbread) Everything was delicious. The ribs are dry rubbed. You can slather it in sauce if you want. I tried it dry and sauced. The ribs were juicy, and tender. The meat pulled from the bone easily. The service was great too. We now have a reason to travel by OC Transpo from the West End(near Algonquin College) to Orleans for the best BBQ in town

Our family of six adults got the family platter (4.5 lbs meat, 3 shareable sides, 4 desserts), along with one appetizer (deep-fried pickles), another shareable side (garlic mashed potatoes), and 8 pork ribs. We chose brisket, pulled pork, and chicken for our meats, with sides of cornbread, fries, and smoked beans, and pecan tarts for dessert. Everything was fantastic. The meats were all juicy and delicious, and there was a nice variety of sauces if you wanted anything on top. The sides were also really good, especially the beans. The pecan tarts were tasty; the only thing I might suggest is being able to get four different desserts instead of them all having to be the same. All ìn all, though, we loved Meatings, and will definitely return. Thanks for the excellent meal and friendly service!

We had a chicken & ribs buffet at our wedding and we were all very impressed with the food & service! We had many people tell us that they were the best ribs they've ever had, and that it was some of the best food they've had at a wedding. Veggie option of stuffed peppers were apparently really good too, and the mac & cheese and smoked potato salad were unreal. The service was very professional and friendly the whole way through. I would highly recommend for an event and can't wait to go to the restaurant to have again!

My daughter and I went for and early dinner, we each had the sampler plate ($22 each) let me tell you- was well worth the $$ and best damned bbq I have ever had! We were both absolutely stuffed after eating! The staff there were extremely friendly! Cant wait to go back for some more brisket and pulled pork! :)

We used Meatings for catering and bartending services at our wedding and were so happy with everything! Joey was so great to deal with during the planning and was there for the event to ensure everything was running smoothly. We did a cocktail style reception so wanted some tasty small bites passes around throughout the night and were pleasantly surprised to see how flexible they were in their menu. We came in for a tasting and they were completely open to any feedback we had on adjustments. The food turned out to be so tasty and we heard very positive feedback from the guests even the very picky ones! The bartending was great too. They made sure to have enough staff on hand so no one was hungry or thirsty for too long. We would definitely recommend them for any upcoming event, big or small! Or just a normal dinner because their food at the restaurant is also pretty amazing! Thanks so much for everything!

Went to their location for the first time the other day and it was amazing!! Great selection and every single thing I had tasted amazing. Best brisket I have ever eaten. I had the sampler with brisket, chicken, garlic sausage. Absolutely delicious

AMAZING!! We just had the take home turkey dinner just now. And let's just say it was super delicious and cooked to perfection. We will recommend it to anyone and everyone and will definitely be back to try other items. The attention to detail is exquisite and every item we dug into was mouth watering and we went back for seconds. My boys also enjoyed the turkey meal and couldn't get enough of it. Thank you for a wonderful meal and taking the guess work out of having to make a home cooked meal! The time and energy it saved was well worth it!! Merry Christmas and hope to be back in the New Year!

Coming from Europe I know little about BBQ but I do know good food and this was delicious. We had a sample platter to try bits of everything. The brisket and pulled pork meats were outstandingly succulent but the bark on the ribs is a taste memory I will savour. We will come back.

Delicious! The meat was excellent and the sides were great too. We had the family platter and there were lots of tasty gluten free options. So happy to have you in the neighbourhood! Can't wait for our next visit.

The staff is very friendly, the atmosphere is cozy and the food is yummy. We tried the sampler with brisket, chicken and ribs and also ordered the pulled pork. Delish! Great to have this new spot in Orleans.

We picked up dinner and it was great! We had the Family dinner and it was enough for 2 adults and 2 teens with very little leftovers! Everything was amazing buy my fav was the ribs. The coleslaw was very good and the corn bread was very southern tasting! Highly recommend the pineapple for dessert. My boys loved the peacan tarts! Hats off to the chefs, you have a good thing going there!

Meatings catered our wedding of just over 100 guests this past weekend and we could not be happier with the food and the service that we and all of our guests enjoyed. The chicken and ribs and all the sides were excellent, as well as the appetizers and late night snacks. It blows my mind how you were able to serve the meat piping hot, the vegetables cooked to perfection, and the salad fresh for this size of group. Not only was the food great, but the service was on point throughout the evening. Joey and the Meatings team made sure everything ran smoothly, including the dinner clean up, the bar and serving the appetizers and late night snacks. Our guests commented on how friendly the catering and bar team was. I could go on and on. We can't thank you guys enough - feel free to send any referral requests our way! If we could add more stars, we would!

Well finally checked out the famous 'Meatings' local restaurant and unhappy to say we will not be going back. We ordered the sampler plate, $42 and there really is only enough food for 1 person. We got all the way home with our take out order and it was missing items and not even close to what we ordered. We went back, they fumbled with their words and asked if we wanted our first order meat back .. what? No we want a whole new order which we did not get the grilled pineapple that was supposed to come with our order. They gave us back what was left of what we had eaten which was only 1 of 3 pieces .. sorry Orleans, I have had better smoked meat in West end Ottawa, epic fail for local eatery and disappointing .. no quality control here .. highly disappointed Orleans resident

Food at Meatings is always delicious. I love the variety and different combination and sids options. There is something for everyone!

Great service and great food. My favourites are the brisket and ribs. Pair it with tots and it’s a masterpiece. Returning customer who will keep doing so.

The food was decent, and by decent I mean passable but not more so, and I had the meat combo platter. The meal was pricey in terms of what you get on a plate, which sad to say is not much, and served on plates and cutlery made of cardboard and plastic respectively. <br/><br/>I was brought here because D&S was closed (permanently, and I really loved that place) was looking for a replacement. This place IS NOT a replacement at all. <br/><br/>I don’t mind hole in the wall restaurants, but to overpay for a small quantity of food which I don’t think held any candle to D&S or other southern cook houses and to have it served on cheap cardboard or styrofoam plates with throw out cutlery felt like they were aiming low. <br/><br/>I normally don’t pay attention to presentation, but I don’t know of any restaurant where I paid north of 20 dollars for a plate and beer and had it served on cheap disposable plates and cutlery. <br/>Overall the food was decent. The pulled pork was good, the chicken was a bit dry, the brisket a bit tough, and the fries were bland, but none of it worth close to the price paid. <br/><br/>If you are looking for southern BBQ skip this place, you’d be better off following a DIY YouTube video on various dishes. you might have struggles, but it will probably be more entertaining and just as tasty if not more so than this restaurant. <br/>It misses out on the aspects of a southern cookhouse: 1 atmosphere, 2 food, 3 even more food. <br/><br/>

Excellent, fall-off-the-bone BBQ! Honestly some of the best I've ever had (and I used to live in Texas where we KNOW bbq)! The cornbread is delicious as well. Meatings is hardly cheap so be prepared to throw out some $$$ (odd for so casual a restaurant) but the good thing is they give you big portions, so save yourself money and share a plate.

Ribs & Brisket: tender, juicy, Brisket melts in your mouth, properly salted with spices with a hint of sweetness. I would prefer dry tub without BBQ sauce simply because the sauce is too sweet and sour to me <br/>Side of mac and cheese, smoked beans: they are standard by themselves but I really enjoyed mix them up and eat together, the sweetness in the beans is perfect to cut the heavy cheesy feeling of the mac and cheese

We decided to give this place a second shot since going one evening around 7:00 pm on a Friday and then being out of everything but chicken. We arrived around 5:15 about an hour after open on a Saturday and they were out of half their menu. The food was good, fall off the bone ribs, crispy taters, juicy chicken and good BBQ sauce. I was hoping to have tried the brisket or pulled pork but they were out. I think they should have their ordering down by now since they have been opened for some time now. They were out of everything before 6:00pm.

They are called meatings but ran out of most meats other than chicken. It wasn't really good, and it was way overpriced. StHubert is down the same street for chicken so I have no reason to return to meatings.<br/>

Very expensive for what you get. Their pulled pork is amazing but is the only thing I would reorder. <br/><br/>I've tried the brisket, ribs and jackfruit and all were just ok. <br/><br/>Too bad since we were looking for a great BBQ place since D&S BBQ mysteriously closed.

What a great surprise to have this in Orleans! We had a couple of samplers. Everything was tender and flavorful. The cornbread as someone had pointed out was dry though even with the generous portion. The sauce was tart and worked well against the smoke. The tater tots were crispy. The ribs were falling off the bone. The chicken was tender a moist. The pineapple was sweet and juicy. This is a gem of a place and we are lucky to have them here.

The first and most obvious thing when walking in to Meatings is the decor. They put a lot of thought and time into it no doubt. It was a pleasant surprise.<br/><br/>Next step is service. The person at the cash was welcoming: enquired how I heard about the place, if I live in the area... and took the time to explain how it works since it was my first time there. I noticed the crew at the back that was working hard and seemed very focused.<br/><br/>The best part was the food. I ended up getting a sampler: ribs, chicken, smoked beans, corn bread, tart and pink lemonade. Everything tasted good although the cornbread was a bit too dry. The grilled lemon added a nice touch to the pink lemonade.<br/><br/>The real highlight of my plate was the ribs: fall off the bone, smoked to perfection, not too sweet, tender and juicy. It was exquisite. The best I've had so far. <br/><br/>I will definitely be going back for more ribs and to try other items on the menu.

Had the pulled pork on a bun and the mac n cheese side. Authentic slow and low BBQ for sure. Can't wait to go back and try the other menu items. Well priced and just the right food amount. Definitely a must try if you are in Orleans.

Update March 13,2017<br/><br/>There was an entire menu change, they removed all combos options and everything has increased 20 % or more. The cashier is not even honest when I asked the question about the change.<br/><br/>When I ordered at the counter the kitchen looked dirty.<br/><br/>I am not sure if people will accept this huge price increase hidden in a new menu. They should not take their clients for granted. Highly disappointed.<br/><br/>Update December 4, 2017<br/><br/>Being a huge baked beans fan, I gave them another chance and asked directly the question. They answered that yes there beans are now the canned stuff which they add BBQ sauce to, yark Also please let me point out that the beans do not contain as much meat as before, it is almost absent from the dish. This is not a good way to cut corners. Wake up !!!<br/><br/>Server also mentioned that the have more canned stuff like the pickles and other items, what ???<br/><br/>Guys come on BBQ is like a religion, please respect it since you are charging top dollars for your food where we end up paying for the canned stuff<br/><br/>I strongly invite the owners to respond and tell us why the food has taken such a big hit.<br/><br/>Update August 27<br/><br/>Just figured out that they switched their home baked BBQ bean for canned stuff<br/>Not impressed at all<br/><br/>Great place, great BBQ, try the sampler plate. AMAZING staff and homemade BBQ sauce. I highly recommend this place. They even have free refills on pink lemonade and give you pop corn while you wait.<br/>Please go and try everything !!!
