Review Baxter's Landing - Oshawa

I reserved a table for 3 here, in case this place gets busy. One of my friends also works here, which got us a %20 off the regular menu price. I enjoyed eating here, because the environment was very modern, with music, and a dimly lit space; perfect for a hot, summer afternoon lunch. The tables and chairs were spacious, and the staff there were all very accommodating and patient with our orders, and gave recommendations as it was 2 of our first time here. The dish I ordered was a smaller portion than expected, but still delicious and very filling. Our waiter was pleasant to talk to, and we spent almost 20 minutes here chatting, as the restaurant wasn't too busy during lunch hours. I cannot speak for dinner hours or weekends, but this Baxter's location did not disappoint. It's definitely worth trying out if you're in Oshawa looking for a meal in a vibe restaurant, or hanging out with old pals!

Called before we went here as it was our first time and we were in the area and decided to have dinner here. Liam was great when I spoke to him, he also greeted us and showed us to our seats when we arrived. Rob T was out server and was awesome to deal with, totally enjoyed his service. The steak and shrimp was delicious. The in house mascarpone cheesecake we had for dessert was a total hit. The only complaint I had wasn't any calamari left as we were going to order it for the appetizer. The decor is eye catching and the atmosphere is cool and relaxing. Definitely will be back.

By far one of the best experiences I've had for my bday. I attended with family for my birthday and the food was absolutely amazing and the service from our server Greg was the best ever. He made me a special drink for my birthday and provided so much more for us. The complementary dessert was just devine. Overall the visit was the best for my first time at Baxter's Landing. I would and will recommend them to everyone I know. Love love love this place.

Came here for lunch and everyone was really nice. Craig Warren was extremely nice and made me a Drink. It’s called Michelada which is a Central American drink that was NOT on the menu But it definitely should be. And it was AMAZING I really appreciate the fact that he went out of his way to make it. Definitely going to come back. The food was really good and atmosphere was great. Definitely check it out. THANK YOU CRAIG!!!!

Went their after work for having a quick bite and drink in patio. Really loved the setup, service and food - our server Rob was amazing and food was tasty with a very good portion size.

Amazing Valentine’s Day dinner. Our server Greg was fantastic and the food was incredible. We enjoyed the 4 course Valentines Day special. I can’t say enough how amazing the food was

servers sarah and graham were amazing and beyond amazingly pleasant and accomodating!!! Graham was very professional and Sarah was on point and amazing throughout the entire night, wonderful staff!. fast and attentive service... but Chef Drew is something special! I've been here three times now and all three times chose dishes I normally don't like nor would ever order (specifically seafood) and this man is an artist with cuisine! Every dish he makes had been to die for and exquisite!!! This food is the best your gonna find in Oshawa! And is top 5 for Durham Region!!! Also Dj boy wonder hit every track on point with this evening crowd!!!

We had a lovely Friday Night Out dinner last night. Our server, Chris, was attentive, friendly and helpful without being intrusive. We took his recommendation on our choices and both entrees were excellent (Morroccan Curry Chicken, Peruvian Chicken Salad). We ended with Sticky Toffee pudding which was very very good. I also had an Landing Old Fashioned to start and it was in keeping with the rest of the meal. In the days where everything costs more but you don't always get a great or even good experience, it was comforting to find a restaurant that cared about food and service and exceeded expectations.

The pre fixe menu was outstanding, fillet mignon was brought at the perfect temperature. Seeing all the nice plates come out, we definitely have to come back again.

My partner and I reserved a table for Valentines day which was a special 4 course $120 meal. The meal started with a baked brie with pesto, pistachio and balsamic strawberries. This was a great start, well balanced flavors with sweetness and savory. Absolutely amazing flavor. Second course was a creamy yet acidic tomato bisque and a mushroom and truffle crostini. The crostini is earthy and savory, and the tomato bisque is more acidic than expected but nice in small amounts. Third course was steak with garlic butter confit, garlic mashed potatoes and seasonal vegetables. The steak and mashed potatoes are perfectly made. We also had the pesto and artichoke gnocchi which was really good. The artichoke adds a nice smokey roasted flavor to the pasta. The final course was Baxters Landing classic sticky toffee pudding and a creme Brule. The pudding is rich and sweet as always and the creme Brule was creamy and sweet, just the right amount. The server was very kind and made great conversation with us between courses. The atmosphere is always nice here. An adequate amount of distance between tables except for the booth beside us being a little too close to where we felt like the next couple was sitting with us.

My wife and i have been to baxters several times since its opened, it has become our favorite restaurent. Since our first visit i have made a point of trying everything on the menue, and i have to say i cant decide which meal i like the most! I will say after returning from jamaica for our wedding i had the paiaya, and i can honestly say it was better than the paiaya made by the locals in jamaica, ehich i thought would be impossible to top.The calimari was unreal!! My hat is off to the chef! Every meal has been superb! As amazing as the food is, its the drinks that keep us coming back. The sangria is out of this world! The beer is delicious( i've tried almost all the specials). The manager i have met was very pleasent to talk to very polite. Atmosphere is great! The bathrooms are very clean. My only constructive criticism would be that sometimes the service could be better. Not to say that the staff are unpleasent or rude, because it is quite the opposite as we have not had a server we thought wasnt friendly or nice, its just we have experienced service being a little slower than one would hope. We of course overlooked the slight hiccup as everything else is on point! We wish we could come more often as it can be a little pricy but we recomend this restaurent to family friends and strangers looking for a quality meal.

Just ate at Baxter’s Landing for the first time. Was very impressed. Right from the hostess to the cookie that came with our bill. The hostess made suggestions of some of her favourites as it was our first time. Our waitress, Deanna, was very pleasant and gave us great service. The manager stopped by to make sure we were pleased with our food. My husband had the chicken pot pie, comes with a Landing salad. Great flavour in the pie. I had a Landing salad, recommended by the hostess, and the chicken chimachurra pizza...not sure I have that correct. Great food and great service The hostess even saw us looking at the wines and told us 1/2 price bottles on Thursdays. A good reason to return and try a different menu dish. Thanks for a wonderful night out.

Only reason it's not 5 stars is that the wait staff seems to focus more on service during the beginning and middle, but gets less inclined to come around for refills or more food/dessert/drink orders if you've been there for a while -- even if new party members show up. Otherwise : great food/drinks, reasonable prices.

Had dinner at Braxters Landing , The hostess was friendly and seated me to my table promptly. The waitress was very friendly , took order . The food came quickly and was very good. The waitress checked to see if I enjoyed it which I find is very important and asked if I would like anything else. Even the manager asked me how I was enjoying my meal. I was very impressed at the service and quality of the meal being served. I will definitely go again and tell my friends about this restaurant.

It was our first visit and will defiantly not be out last. Our server ( Graham )was professional, friendly and without asking made sure we had everything we needed and more and was knowledgeable and passionate about the menu and food we were served. Everything was fresh and delicious �. Excited to try other menu items in the future.

Been to Baxters a few times now, always a great experience, staff always willing to make your time there the best, fast service and great drinks n food

The patio was great. Beautiful day with full sun. Food was great. Good overall experience. Would recommend it to anyone.

I've read a couple reviews and I'm so shocked!!!!! I absolutely love this place! Staff is so friendly! My friend and I went for drinks a few months ago and ever since then We go at least once every couple weeks! Sometimes twice a week!! Food is absolutely amazing!!!!!! Their daily specials are great!! Half priced bottles of wine on Thursday um yes please!! Every time we go for a meal(sometimes we go just for a few drinks) we always get greeted by the manager on duty and asked about the service food etc! My family went for Father's Day this year and they were all skeptical because of hearing negative reviews but I convinced them to go and no one was dissatisfied!! Please Don't listen to these awful reviews, form your own opinion and check it out yourself!!! Ps if your a Ceaser lover, go for brunch during the weekend and ask for "The Cure" your mind will be blown!!!!

It was not busy when we arrived - more empty tables than occupied ones, yet we had to wait about 5 minutes before the hostess even came over. Server was quick to take drink orders, bring them and take our food orders, but then we had to wait an hour before our food arrived. She didn't even come over to see if we needed more drinks while we were waiting. Then when the food arrived, it was barely warm and not all of it came. One of the meals didn't come until about 5 minutes after the rest and was incomplete - fries took another 5 minutes. My daughter asked to see the manager and she was nice enough to comp our bill, but it was enough of a disappointment that we won't be going back.

We’ve been twice and both times not only has the service been excellent - so is the food! Very friendly staff! They don’t rush you like so many spots these days. We just had a party of 8 for a 50th Birthday Celebration and not only were they accommodating with our balloons and cake but were so attentive that everyone commented what a wonderful time they had and would highly recommend Baxter’s Landing to their friends as well! Thank you Baxter’s Landing!

We were seated immediately, greeted by our wait staff immediately, service was knowledgeable and prompt. The food was amazing. Would definitely return.

Awful experience. Wait staff are dressed inappropriately. Service was ridiculously slow even though it was dead in there. Food was not appealing at all. Way overpriced for the child sized portion they bring adults. Menu is garbage for selection. Will not return.

We celebrated my own and my sister’s birthdays at Baxter’s on Friday,our server Leslie was excellent, she was helpful, friendly and made our experience memorable, the food was delicious, we will definitely dine here again !

It was good but not something I would necessarily come back for. Food was delicious and the hostess was prompt but it felt like we had to keep flagging down our waitress.
