Super fun service and a huge selection of cheeses, breads, tarts, chocolate, sweets anything and everything you can think of. Also, the prices here are sooooo cheap, for about 12 dollars you get enough to feed 4 people to the brim!!!!

Absolutely amazing! All the desserts taste amazing and very good quality. Everything is a great price. You can even get some deli meats and some imported UK snacks. The cakes are too die for! Tons of flavour.
Staff is very friendly and quick with service. There is a small sitting area upstairs. I believe you can get a few hot drinks there.
Most of the individual desserts are $1 and under. Basic cakes are only $12!
Was disappointed on our last visit here to find they are no longer making sandwiches - have SO enjoyed them in the past! We ordered chicken pies instead and I threw mine out because I really didn't like it.
However, I LOVED the sugar cookies that we bought for a gift and wished we had bought more - they were lovely! Also, bought a couple packages of teabiscuits and enjoyed those immensely!!
Overall, a win and a fantastic place to buy Dutch items (including proper black licorice) for your friends and family that love it!
Best apple fritters I have ever had. I have been going here since I was a kid and the quality of their products has not changed at all. They have every kind of baked good you can think of and some quirky traditional Dutch treats too.
"By far and away the best fritter I have ever had" says my husband as we drive up Hwy 115 eating the goodies we just bought. I also don't think I have ever had a Danish pastry as light as the one I am devouring, fresh fresh and fresh - it's almost as if its "good" for you! Good for the spirit at least. Coffee was excellent too As were the helpful staff. Customer before us had driven from New Brunswick for work and had been given the recommendation of this glorious bakeshop and he also was not disappointed. On our go-to list rather than the highway chains from here on!
Amazing bakery!!!
First and foremost, this bakery (& another in Whitby) is family owned and run. The food and gifts are mainly Dutch. All of the goodies are baked daily, and you will definitely notice their freshness. Note that if you want some specific items like Dutch apple fritters, eccles cakes, long johns... you need to special order them or show before the afternoon, as they sell out quickly. Speaking of special orders, I have ordered both miscellaneous treat boxes and customized cakes with no issues. A 10" customized cake for $10 -- that‘s amazing! I cannot say enough great things about this bakery! You have to check it out, and no doubt you will agree!
Very addicting. Many options for people of many tastes and cultures. There are vegetarian options from the deli. Can get a hot beverage and enjoy it in the privacy of the lesser known upstairs cafe. My personal favourite are the smiley sugar cookies with jam in the middle. Fantastic combination to moisten the cookie.
I have not had the opportunity to visit this location quite yet, however they catered an event that I attended in Orono. The baked goods are absolutely incomparable to anything I have ever tasted. The scones are incredible, the muffins are delicious, I could be absolutely full and find room to have one more of their apple fritters. If you are in Orono, do yourself a favour and visit the Village Bake Shop.
Orono Bakery recently made our wedding cake and provided us with baked goods for our special day as well. The cake was nicely decorated and everything was delicious! We had alot of compliments from our guests. Carol and her team are very professional and friendly. They took care of the delivery and everything behind the scenes which was fantastic. I would definitely recommend this bakery to my family and friends!! Thanks again!
I have lived in Orono for 20 years now. The first thing I knew about was the bakery. It is a famous bakery for the locals and those who drive from out of town. The breads, cakes & pastries are to die for😋 I hope that it remains a staple here for years to come. So many of the best desserts I have ever tasted! As well as Dutch wears to suit your fancy.
