Great BBQ place close to Calgary! Good sized menu, relaxed atmosphere and friendly service. Ordered the brisket burnt ends, beef ribs, st. louis ribs with sides of jalapeño mac & cheese and scalloped potatoes. The meat was cooked perfectly- tender, a little fatty and fall of the bone delicious! The sides were only ok at best. Would not order those sides again. Next time ill try the corn bread and baked beans, those looked good. Topped off a satisfying lunch with an awesome dessert- BBQ S’more Skillet. Will definitely return again.

This has all the makings of a great bbq place, it’s casual and offers decent portions of meat. We spent a lot of money on a platter and the sides that came along were a bit disappointing in terms of size. Scalloped potatoes were delicious, Mac and cheese was so so. I really wish they had some meat that I was sauced before it came to you. The sauces offered for you to add on your own were not very different in flavour from one another. Take out was wrapped in butcher shop paper. This was a little gross and trouble when trying to take home beans- what a mess!
We had someone in our party with bad eyes and a child so it was very inconvenient to sit at the back without a paper menu. Each party had to take turns leaving the table to read the menu (and how do you talk about what you want then?!). Or break out phones to look up the menu. The bathrooms upstairs are also a bit weird as a lady with no doors on urinals. Glad no one was peeing while I went up there!
Between the unorthodox take out packaging, no hard copy menus and the absence of doors on urinals I do wonder if the owner skimped to save money in the wrong areas? May go back, but won’t make it priority. Also- don’t wear anything you can’t wash- you’ll smell like smoked meat for days, which depending on how much you like bbq may not be an issue for you! 😬
They appear to be trying, but they don't quite have things down pat yet. My ribs were meaty but overcooked to almost black. The sausage links were more like chorizo sausage than what you might expect and the brisket, which was lean and tender lacked sufficient smoke flavouring. My sides were reasonable and prices were par. Service was good. I would try it again but I'll give it a bit more time to work the kinks out. There are several other places in Calgary with significantly better fare, but if you're in this area it may be the best choice.
Good. Got the Piggy Chick. Liked the ribs but chicken a bit dry and small pieces. Would like to see more variety on the platters (side options). Meat and 2-3 side choice would be nice cause cornbread was a write off for us. Not that it was bad but just not a favourite. All sauces were good. Big sky sauce was my fave but all tasted v similar. Sauces sold there and tee shirts w cute kitschy sayings. Clean kitchen, restaurant and bathrooms. Saw staff cleaning and refilling sauce pumps often. Great place between Calgary and Okotoks to stop for meat and make your own sides. Would go back but wouldn't make a huge effort to. Would reccomend if someone was looking for BBQ.
Went here with my Dad and we both had ribs. They were delicious! Great place if you are craving BBQ! Sides were good but not as good as the meat.
