I've been to V-Nam twice and both experiences have been wonderful.  The owner is so sweet and accommodating, the restaurant is clean, and you don't leave smelling like pho!  The menu has a lot of variety and the food is delicious.  I highly recommend trying out the Phorrito, it's a cool spin on the traditional soup, but in a wrap form if you want something to grab and go!

This is where my partner and I eat when we need a quick healthy meal and don't want to cook, where I take out of town family when they visit, and where me and my friends come to feast after a big hike, like Crown Mtn.  We love the food, Lani remembers our regular order, and it's usually quite quick. There have been some re-do's on the menu in the past year or so- larger portions of noodles with the soups, a slightly different veg spring roll recipe, and perhaps some other changes. Oh yeah- you'l see Lani there all the time because she's the owner- its a family business! The only trouble is that it's gotten so much busier in the past little bit that sometimes it takes a little while for the food to come- so now it's our place for a healthy meal when we don't want to cook : )

Awesome food, great customer service the waiter is extremely nice. Me and my friends always come here, it's a great place to get some nice hot pho, but they also have great other options like chow mein and fried rice.

V-Nam was randomly recommended to me by a friend years ago and I completely ignored said recommendation (even though I'm always in there area!) until the other day. Decided to check this place out as I saw they had a "Veggie Pho" on their menu. A friend and I swung by here later on at night and it was completely dead when we walked in - and completely packed when we left (always a good sign!). Food was delicious and definitely one of the best Pho's (veggie or otherwise) I've had in a long time. The service was really friendly and fast considering there was literally one server for the entire, pretty busy, restaurant. My favourite part of the meal was the Deep Fried Bananas & Ice Cream (forgot to take a pic - fail!) - must order, so good OMG. Will definitely be back again - great place!

Update (July 27th 2016):

Still eating here and it's still awesome but I finally tried a new menu item and I'm in LOVE with it. The Veggie Plate (actually served in a bowl) consists of 2 deep fried veggie spring rolls, shredded fried tofu, and a veggie stir fry (with fried taro root strips - YUM) on top of a bed of vermicelli noodles and a green salad. I order a side of peanut sauce and pour that on top, with sriracha and hoisin sauce, and mix it all up. So flavourful, filling and fresh. Must try!

Probably the best pho you're gonna get in north vancouver. The lady who takes the orders (the only lady) is the owner with her husband in the kitchen. Very friendly and delicious food with large portions. Highly recommend.

They're really good. Decor isn't the best but food makes up for it

It's a Pho place, don't go for decor; tho not bad for a Pho place.
Pho is 74% awesome.
BBQ pork spring rolls are 100% awesome.

Not the best on the North Shore, nor the cheapest, but it is damn good.

Best bang for your buck in N. Van. I have almost given up on N. Van Pho places of pushy servers that want u to order their specials of the day, reused chop sticks, gross old carpets & Nagging TVs. Then I found V Nam, there they have a clean atmosphere (including Bathrooms) and almost everyone 75% tables have a window view. Good for the claustrophobics.

My Pho was steaming hot w/ no clumping noodles, fresh & abundance amount of bean spouts, chilli, lime & basil. Service was fast & pleasant. $8.75 for a large bowl of Pho & your chioce of a pop or spring roll (rice paper kind) was well worth it. I also ordered their Vietnamese cold cut sub that came w/ pop for $4.75. The only complaint was that there was no pate. I will w/o a doubt be back!

A moderately priced Vietnamese Pho restaurant located @ lower Lonsdale. The menu has recently gone though a change they offer traditional Vietnamese cuisine with some Thai & Japanese choice options. I was there with my Mom & Teenage Friend for Christmas Eve Dinner tonight. The food as always is exceptional really tasty Authentic dishes salad rolls, curry chicken, lemon grass chicken with egg, pad Thai, beef short ribs, deep fried squid. Really nice. The staff is extremely friendly & helpful usually the same Asian girl serves us, She’s absolutely Fantastic, so Happy & cheerful. Thank you V-Nam for a Lovely Christmas Eve Dinner. The place in North Vancouver for Pho! Whether it is dining in or take out this place never disappoints. If you go ask for Lani, she is an absolute gem and always greets you with a smile. She was very helpful and patient with recommendations while serving us. Usually my partner and I order the Vietnamese subs which are a great grab and go working late nights. Expect very quick service unless they are super busy (which is never a bad sign when you go to a restaurant) regardless they still work their best to get your meal on time! This time around dining in, we went for the Sate Peanut Pho #60 and #63 Grilled Pork Vermicelli outstanding flavour and generous portions! It's a well kept cozy atmosphere. I have worked in the food industry and can say, clean dining, kitchen and good communication. Check it out for yourself and perhaps it might just become your new favourite too!

Don’t let the interior scare you away. This place is a jewel. My fourth time eating here. Rather I should say my fourth time getting takeout. I’ve mixed it up every time. This time. The duck. It was pretty good. The broth was nice and light with a hint. Of duck. And of course the duck. It was a little boney but other than that it was pretty tasty. And the rest of the ingredients were fresh. The takeout packages are all separated and segregated, for easy soup making when you get home. Make sure you have a big enough bowl.

This was my time going to V-Nam. I don't always go for Pho, but V-Nam was quite good and tasty. It had a good tasting broth with lots of condiments on the side if you want to make it your own. I will definitely go back.

I recommend going to the restaurant if you’re comfortable. I had the spicy beef pho (which I recommend), and you can add more sauces at the table, which for a wintery day was really great to warm up your insides. They have hand sanitizer at the doors and at the cashier station. The Pho came super quick! Like within 5 minutes of sitting down. I would say there was a steady amount of people seated which was about 6 to 8 people in the restaurant during weekday lunch time of 12:30 pm. I find this location is always reliable. The other two on Lonsdale can be hit or miss.

Great food, had the beef peanut satay soup and it was the best I have ever had. Not a very fancy place. Tried 3 tables and they all wobbled terribly, server was nice but double checked our order three times. The food was great and for that reason I will be back.
