Best Malaysian food in the lower mainland. Eat here at least 10 times a year. Great service which is both efficient and friendly. You won't be disappointed.
Best laksa ever !!! And good price for it too, just under $10 but looking at the size very hard to finish by yourself. You will need to share this. Also they are very fast and accommodating with allergies and food requests. Good place for vegetarians too. Everyone should go here if you live near by. It's a staple for me and they know me by face (embarrassing).
Tamarind Hill is located in North Vancouver and serve up Malaysian food. Their top items are Rotis & Satays, Green Papaya & Mango Salad, Hainanese Chicken, Rendeng Beef, Kari Lamb, King Prawns with Indian Black Peppercorn and Garlic Butter. After hiking, I came here with a few friends to eat some dinner. We came to this place because it was highly recommended by people who live in the area.
Highly recommended by my friend living in North Vancouver, therefore give it a try today.
Ordered : Singapore Laksa, Hokkien Mee, Vegetarian Spring Rolls
Looked and tasted good overall. I couldn't find my boiled egg in the soup though.
Will try other dishes next time.
I came here after hiking in Lynn Valley and while we were on this side of the bridge, I couldn't help but stop by here. The roti and the skewers were pretty awesome!
Everything's great except. The ambiance is very quiet inside. I can hear myself chew haha. And tables across can hear my conversations.
But other then that great food and service
Best Singapore Laksa outside of Singapore!
The food is consistany good. The portion might have gotten smaller over the years. Overall the food is on salty side so I add hot water in my soup and have lots of rice with curry.
I love their Maylasian and Singapore laksa. By far one of the best laksa in town. I also love their Indian mee goreng and nasi goreng. They give you quite a generous portion their and the price is very reasonable for the portion. Customer service is also excellent there. The waitresses there always guess with the food I order there so everytime I order something different, they were very surprised but then I ordered different dish now and then to shock them. Their roti and calamari are also very tasty. I wouldn't order hainan chicken since I find they have more bones than meat though. Their tiger prawn in chilli sambal and fresh snapper in carmalized ginger sauce are also quite good but my favorites there are still laksa, Indian mee goreng and nasi goreng. The nasi goreng is really good and this comes from someone who doesn't like rice. One of my favorite places to dine out.
Amazing, the best thing I've ever had. We really liked the chicken satay, vegetable samosas, beef murtabak !!!!! We also shared the chicken curry which was just average but spicy!
It's not that this Tamarind Hill is bad, it's just not good. We had the flavorless Mee Goreng, and the chalky Beef Rendeng. We are new residents to the North Shore, Tamarind Hill is truly inferior to other Malasyan offerings not so far away. We did love the spring rolls but not enough to go back to TH

I have to say that I’ve never really fully enjoyed Malaysian food up until the past year or so. I think it was probably because I was ordering the wrong things when going to different Malaysian restaurants, therefore making my experience not so memorable. However, thanks to all the wonderful food blogs I’ve been following and people I’ve met, my tastes have expanded and I’m happy to say that I’m really enjoying different things! I would have to say Tamarind Hill is one of my favourite places for Malaysian food. I know it seems to be everyone’s as well, but there’s just something about the food that’s just perfect. I have yet to visit their original restaurant in New West, but I have gone twice to the North Van location. Being a little typical, I ordered the same thing both times – for consistency sake and also because I enjoyed it the first time around. The second time I went though, I ordered the Murtabak with Gado Gado which is their delicious roti served as a wrap with your choice o
It was a rainy Saturday night and we couldn't decide what to eat. Lately Marv has been on a malaysian cuisine frenzy, so we opted to try out Tamarind Hill in North Van since we had enjoyed ourselves at the New Westminster location. Tamarind Hill 1440 Lonsdale Avenue, North Vancouver BC Tel#: (604) 990-0111 Surprisingly, it didn't take us too long to get here. Maybe about 10 minutes, I think I'd rather come to this location since it's much closer and parking was a lot easier to find. Upon entering the place, it was almost empty. There was only 1 other table occupied, but they appeared to be done eating a long time ago and were just chatting. For me, it's an absolute 'must have' when I come to Malaysian restaurants to get the Roti, however this time I was convinced to try the Murtabak instead. It's essentially roti wraps with either lamb, chicken, beef or vegetarian. We opted for their lamb version. For 1 roll split into 2 pieces, we f
The Tamarind Hill is the newest Malaysian restaurant in Metro Vancouver. This is opened by the same people who also owns the Tamarind Hill restaurant in New Westminster. We had been to the Tamarind Hill in New West and we loved their food.
How many times in your life have you had a meal that you can recall on your tastebuds for months? It doesn't happen that frequently for me. I get easily excited over food, and remembering any one pleasant experience gets difficult if you taste great dishe
