I’ve been here twice and both times I’ve been blown away by the various smoked meats available. The sausage is juicy and delicious, the brisket is soft and full of flavour, and their pulled pork Mac and Cheese is absolutely to die for.
Service is prompt and unobtrusive and their seating is comfortable. Even on the 35 degree day we went on they open the front and patio door and the breeze going through is very nice.
Next visit I’m getting a platter.
I have been here twice, the first time was either last summer or the summer before. At that time I had a pulled chicken sandwich, my husband had, I think a brisket sandwich and we shared a poutine. The chicken sandwich I found a bone in it. Both the poutine and chicken sandwich weren’t on the menu during our recent visit.
Last week my husband and I brought a few friends here for a food bender. There is a mac’n’cheese on the menu and it should be illegal. Cheesey with a garlic bread crumblyon top, good flavour. Another friend ordered eith the pulled pork or brisket sandwich. My husband ordered a 2 meat platter. Will be back for sure.
Recently, I was invited to one of the participated restaurant for the #BBQlicious event hosted by Budweiser. The event celebrates the best slow-cooked BBQ at some of the top restaurants across Canada. I chose to try the BBQ at Smokes & Bones BBQ. It is located in Lower Lonsdale in North Vancouver. It is a 10 minute bus ride from the Lonsdale Quay. Although the restaurant is far away from the city, it has numerous reviews and a 4.4 rating on Google. I was excited to try the ribs in person!
I went to explore the Shipyards Night Market for the first time but didn’t find any of the food trucks interesting so my friend and I decided to get food somewhere else. After doing a quick Google search, we decided on Smoke and Bones BBQ. They’re located near Capilano Mall, just a few minutes from the Lions Gate Bridge. They’ve won several BBQ competitions before as can be seen from the trophy’s they have on display.
Great spot! Authentic southern BBQ. The owners have been catering for over 10 years and have been winning many of the BBQ competitions they have been in (a bunch of trophies are on one wall!). Good sized patio that is unfortunately on Marine drive, but it’s not too overwhelming. Also dog friendly on the patio!
What a find!!! Stumbled across this local gem on our way back to nearby hotel. Cassandra provided great service & explanations of menu items (our first visit). Huge menu including Family style options. I started with Berry Smash cocktail, couldn't detect any rum or mint but definitely got a little buzz. We sat outside in the perfect weather & the smoker smell inside & out was divine! Hubby ordered brisket sandwich and I had pulled pork. The fries (seasoned) came out a little late but were fantastic and very very hot! Our sandwiches were outstanding... perfect smoke & bark & great flavor. We first had some trouble finding parking but circled around & found space on side street. Hoping we get to go back before we leave town...YUM!!!
Came here during van dine out. Soup, meat tasting platter, mac n cheese and the drinks were all fantastic. Salad and dessert were a complete afterthought to fill the set menu and didn't taste good at all. Service was somewhat slow as our server was very interested in the sports game on tv.
BBQ platter was delicious! Authentic smoked BBQ. Had the brisket, rips, and pulled pork and all tasted great. Service was accommodating and friendly. Would come back and recommend.
Excellent food. Was looking to try a bit of everything and I'm glad I ordered the plater with the 4 family members I came with. The whole platter was great. A MUST TRY!
Incredible bbq meal. Everything was perfect; the ribs and brisket were awesome, the fries some of the best I've ever had, even the cornbread was tasty. Was very impressed with my meal, happy to have found Smoke and Bones and I'll be back for more 🤙
Well worth the drive. Great service and even better food. Normally chicken is pretty low on my list of foods, but that might have been the first to be devoured. Smoked but still juicy and tender. The brisket was fall apart tender and (sorry) moist. Definitely get the fried brussel sprouts as well.
