Review Gusto Di Quattro - North Vancouver

I expected more out of this restaurant. I expected it to be more of a “fine dining” experience as their Google description says “white tablecloth restaurant”. This was not the case at all. No white tablecloths were used. The menu is limited and doesn’t have a variety of dishes like other Italian restaurants that I am used to. I enjoyed my Caesar salad and the calamari was really good. We got the trio pasta platter to try 3 different ones. Firstly, the Spaghetti Quattro was my favourite. It’s a weird mix of chicken and firm black beans with spicy sauce. Second pasta was the Linguine Pescatore. There was absolutely no difference between the “spaghetti” and “linguine”. It was exactly the same noodle, just with different sauce. They cheaped out on seafood which was quite sad as this pasta platter was $90. Third pasta was the Rigatoni Bolognese. The pasta was way too firm and not cooked enough. Service was kind of weird. We were starving and just wanted to get some appetizers started. We asked our server if we could order the appetizers and then order the mains after, and he says “no, you have to order the appetizers and mains at the same time”. I thought he was joking, but no, he was serious. There were often times where my water glass was empty and I had to flag him down for more water. Overall points: -Not fine dining, no white tablecloths as specified -Appetizers were great, pastas were not -You cannot order appetizers first. You have to order appetizers and mains together

Amazing authentic Italian restaurant. The food was awesome, will be going back. The service and staff are great, friendly and personable. The ballet show and cruise ship coming into port was nice. It was a great view from our patio table.

We loved this restaurant! The food was delicious and the servers attentive. The focaccia was like a pillow, and the burrata platter awesome. Before and after photos below. The pasta was delightful and memorable. We loved the veal Marsala, tagliatelle con funghi, and the carbonara in particular. Highly recommend!

Welcoming staff and great food. A bit pricy for small portions of food but overall a very nice atmosphere and a good experience for the first time. Also the cocktail (Blushing peach) tasted like medicine but it was ok.

Went here once because I saw the $10 pasta special sign out front. Couldn't believe the service and quality of food, not to mention the prompt service and fast kitchen response time. Nice small joint for party's up to 10 comfortably. Just back here now, I recommend the spaghetti Quattro!

The staff and service were so good. The main course was good however the appetizer was small portion compared to price. The place is cozy and nice too.

The food and ambience in incredible, quick service, and best of all, lots of focaccia!

It's expensive but not tasty at all. The dish looks nice but the taste is very disappointing-plain and bland. The dessert toffee pudding is way too sweet. The lava cake has almost no molten chocolate inside- it is dry. The pasta is just bland and unhealthy.

At Gusto di Quattro, it’s all about delicious, homestyle, rustic, Italian food. Located by the Lonsdale Quay market in North Vancouver, Gusto di Quattro has been a favourite of locals since 2000 as well as a hit with tourists visiting the area.

My Dad and I have been eating here since it was Corsi Trattoria (late 1980's) and we stayed with them after they shuttered up for a few years to tour Italy. That tour paid off and Gusto remains a special place for my family when we desire good, upscale Italian food. I have yet to have a bad meal here and the service has always been excellent. How many places can you say that about after 25 years of dining?

The food is good, just can't get over how rude the gentleman server is.

No thanks. Disappointing. Food was mushy and tasteless.

BRUTAL SERVER. We had a special evening planned which was quickly spoiled by a very abrupt, surly waiter who quite obviously hates his job. We drank our wine and left. Too bad as the menu looked great but his attitude ruined our night.. The manager was nice enough to comp our wine.. I'd go back only if the waiter is no longer there.

In Vancouver with Canadian friends.hoped for a special meal out it turned out to be average with a surly waiter when he thought a tip had not been left.

We made a dinner reservation and I ordered the pesto which was unbelievably delicious, fresh and tasty. My partner had the spaghetti di quatro remix and it was the best spicy sea food pasta he's had in Vancouver. Although they were understaffed this evening, our server was wonderful and did a lovely job of making sure we were well taken care of. Totally recommend Gusto di Quattro and we will be back very soon for more.

I went there for lunch, spaghetti was good, seafoods were fresh, but not outstanding enough for me to experience the horrible service again. When I was asking the server for recommendation to order, he replied "whatever", not friendly at all. Overall, a NO for me.

Great!. Excellent service, wonderful wine list and the staff know what they are talking about. It isn't inexpensive, but found the prices in line with the experience.

Great Iltalian. I hadn't been in a while, and we popped in for an early dinner mid week.

A tad pricey, but I still love the place. The food is excellent, as is the service and atmosphere.

Always great !!. Have now been a few times so can comment, always great service, never have to wait , wine list good but a little lacking in vintage but then so are most places in Vancouver. Food well done. Its a great place to unwind and the price is far from expensive.

Excellent! We so enjoyed our first dinner and we will definatly return! -T

I don't recommend it!. We had a reservation but upon arrival had to wait a while for table set up. Short staff. Our server was running around looking all stressed. Food wasn't $30+ type of dish. My steak was very dry for medium done. When mentioned to server, she just looked at me.
Won't go back. North Van location is small and feels rather jammed. Our table was shaky! Didn't like the food or service or ambience. Big dissapointment.

Favourite of Favourites!. If there was a list of "Favourites of Favourites", Gusto di Quattro would be on mine. Lovely room, attentive (yet unobtrusive) service, first class dishes created with delicious, fresh ingredients. I absolutely loved it.

Excellent Italian food. Great food with only a couple of minor complaints. They were a bit slow serving the main course and they didn't offer ground pepper. Other than that the service was efficient and friendly. I would definitely return.

Not impressed. Spent the weekend in North Van. My girlfriend and I were looking for a glass of wine and some light snacks. We had the antipasto platter (uninspired) selection poor, not too italian. Seemed like we were interupting our waiter, service lacked attention. We couldn't leave fast enough!

Always Good. The best Italian on the North Shore and one of my favourites in Vancouver. Very accommodating - always good. Spaghetti Quattro, Veal Scaloppini, fettuccini with Pesto and a great salad with goat cheese and grapefruit segments are my go to dishes.

Surprisingly good, excellant service, and great antipasto, yummy pasta, and delicious ricotta fritters!

Too expensive and not that good

A Taste.... The antipasto platter is always a great starter. Nik Lim, Executive Chef and David Owen are doing a fantastic job at Gusto, the menu with seasonal selections is a winner that makes your mouth water, service and wine selection fabulous. The classic Spaghetti Quattro is always a good bet.

Excellent but.... Been going there for years and rarely do anymore, just too pricey.

The Best. Not your run of the mill Italian, Quattro was full of surprises. The pasta was amazing as was the service.

I liked the overall ambiance of the restaurant (although too dark to take good pictures). I also liked the service. The waitstaff was very attentive to our needs (I had six water refills) and the food came pretty quickly. I loved all their appetizers, but hated the entrees. I don’t think I’d come back for another visit though because the pastas were a little traumatizing.

I’m always interested in fusion food because some chefs can really get creative with it. At Gusto di Quattro, I had an Oriental-inspired Noodle Salad. It may look like a humble box of noodles, but it was packed with flavourful ingredients like roasted tomatoes, pickled vegetables, and pops of sweet corn.
