Excellent food...Onion soup to die for, yummy flaky crab cakes. Roast beef special was tender and delicious. Location is perfect and staff was so nice. Fun and friendly.
My friend and I were visiting Niagara-on-the-Lake from Montréal. We were strolling down Queen Street where a lot of restaurants are and we couldn't find anything that seemed good AND inexpensive at the same time. Corks seemed like a beautiful restaurant just by looking at it from the outside. The weather was nice outside, although cold, we still decided to sit outside. The restaurant was pretty full for lunchtime, even at 3 PM.
Their menu is very diversified and the food we had was delicious. My friend went for the pork souvlaki. She said it was truly delicious, very well cooked. I went for the fish and chips, the waitress told me that it was one of their staples, what people went there for. It was very good! One of the best fish and chips I've had in a while. The coleslaw salad had a bit too much vinegar in it for my taste, but the fries were delicious. We also had 2 beers, they were served in huge cups, we couldn't even finish them.
All and all, the restaurant is very cosy, definitely worth trying if you're in the area and then strolling down for a walk next to the lake. It's located in a beautiful area!
Service was good and decent beer list. The food was average but definitely over priced. For what it cost I wouldn't go back. I'm just adding words because I have to.
The white wine garlic sauce for the 1 pound of steamed Fresh P.E.I Mussels was done so, so well! The sauce was a strong blend of white wine garlic sauce which made eating it with the garlic bread and the fresh mussels incredibly delicious. This may have been one of the best plates of mussels I’ve ever had. It was something about the sauce that tied all the flavours together. All of the mussel meat was intact or found within the dish as well — as in none were missing.
I liked this pub on the main strip in Niagara on the lake. Had the cod fish and chips and they were excellent. The local beer selections were also tastey.
Wonderful time at this great little restaurant on their lovely patio yesterday. My partner and I stopped in NOTL starving, we were quickly drawn to this busy little spot because of the decor and patio. We were seated immediately had our orders taken and had our food in front of us in no time. We both had a beer, myself the oast ale (it had the perfect amount of hop!) and my partner the in house blonde, both good choices! We both decided on the fish and chips everyone around us were ordering them so we couldn't resist. It was a great choice, I'm already craving it again! The prices were very reasonable and the service was great. Looking forward to our next trip to NOTL and a bite at corks.
There was nothing else opened past 8pm on a Monday night at NOTL so we decided on Corks. Had the deep fried Brie app and it was delicious. The crispiness of the Brie was like a giant Brie cheese stick with a jelly that was to die for. The fish and chips was melt in your mouth and switched the American chips for Brit chips (fries) with malt vinegar to top off its authenticity. Was overall a delicious meal, hit the right spot. Had a local Oast beer which was flavorful and my hubby had the chicken bourbon on rice which he thought to be a bit too sweet. Waitress was very friendly but forgot to bring me the malt vinegar. So I asked the couple sitting next to me to borrow theirs. Overall great experience (minus mosquito bites) and would return.
