Review Stefanos Restaurant - New Westminster

Thom Herron
We ordered take-out this evening, as we had dined in several times in the past, but good food in doesn't necessarily mean good takeout as some dishes just dont translate well. We spoke with Katie and asked her advice on which dishes would work best as take-out. She took the time and effort to help us, detailing the dishes, garnishes, and sides. We went with the platter #2, Halibut, lamb souvlaki, moussaka, prawns and scallops for 2. It was fantastic! (we exchanged the lamb for chicken, done with no concerns). The seafood was cooked perfectly, rice and potatoes were just the right amount of lemon/garlic and the Tzatziki was cool and fresh. We added salp & Pepper wings, and the Souzoukaia (tasty little meatballs with a tomoato sauce and feta), as appies and they were great. The portions were more than adequate, we regrettably had to leave some small amount of rice and potato on our plates as we were STUFFED! We are so happy, we made a point of calling the restaurant to let them know, they were very thankful and happy that we were happy, Katie, you rock! and Rachel too!

I phoned them around 1:30 pm To make sure, they will open for lunch and will serve happy hour meal or not?! My hubby and I went there Around 2:35 pm. They gave us window seats. Only 2 tables of customers there, including our table, not busy. Our waiter gave us alcohol menu and dinner menu, after we sat down. I tried to ask For lunch menu, but the waiter told us, they don't have lunch menu on holiday. But someone who answer their phone at 1:30pm. They serve lunch at 2:30 pm? Our waiter said, " you can order roasted lamb, we can split it into 2 dishes for you, but we will charge you $3 more" Then he left. I tried to order their appetizer...Steamed mussels, but our waiter told us, they sold out.. so disappointed 😞 So, We ordered chicken livers And Red sangria to start, after 5 minutes. Chicken livers --- deep fried onions on top, But not crispy --- 8 big pieces of tasteless oily chicken livers --- with thick and tasteless tzatziki 😅 --- we don't like it Red sangria --- tasteless and too much ice Pita bread --- look oily and pale, when they served --- but surprisingly.. it's fresh, hot and Crispy, after you bite on it 😋 We tried to ask for happy hour menu around 2:45pm. Our waiter said, " you only can order after 3 pm. The food item with green logo will charge half price, but of course Half portion of regular size" With unhappy voice. After we checked their happy hour menu, not much Greek food, look like pub's menu.. Then we ordered roasted lamb @ 3 p.m. with our waiter. The waiter tried to take All the menu from us And leave, after we ordered the roasted lamb. I told him.. I still need to order more food Later.. then his service changed From impatience services to good and fast services. After the roasted lamb showed up... --- the roasted lamb was crispy And tasty outside, juicy and soft inside --- their rice is made with tomato and herbs, But too hard for us and tasteless.. --- My hubby and I had one Scoop each and leave it aside.. --- roasted potato was too hard and tasteless Our waiter and another Lady showed up every 5 minutes for changing plates, refill ice water and Asked us, " how's the food?" After my hubby ordered more food ... Kalamari --- so fresh, hot, crispy And tasty Kalamari 😋 --- we like it Hot wings from happy hour menu --- look spicy to me, when they served, because they put a lot of chili on top --- but it's not spicy at all, Just sour, but too dried Mixed satay From happy hour --- look messy when they served 😅 --- got 6 small pieces of Tasty juicy chicken --- 2 small pieces of Dried chewy beef --- 2 small pieces of tasty and tender Lamb meat with a lot of dried Rice and pita bread --- we like the lamb and chicken meat 😋 We had a lot of rice leftover, Because it's too hard for us. We just pack the pita bread home. My hubby likes the Pita bread, but we cannot finish it. We just pack to go. I paid $78.70 + 20% tips For their good services We will go there again for roasted lamb and kalamaria.

Great venue for special events! Co-hosted a bridal shower last month, and it could not have been better. Staff most accommodating and friendly, in planning and serving. Food superb, as always, and costs are fair. Really appreciate you helping to make our day special, thank you!

Went here last night late 30 mins before close and they let us sit down and eat. We always go out like 10-20 people every Saturday night and it's hard to find anywhere in the area to.even take us, sometimes we can't make a reservation we don't know how many people will come. Definitely going to make this place first on our list to try. Food was 10, service was 10 and quality and how they treated us was 10. I'm vegan and although they didn't have any thing vegan on the menu the knowledgeable waitress got me exactly what I wanted. It was delicious, thanks.

A fantastic restaurant, large place able to accommodate many people at a table, great for family/business gatherings. The staff is friendly and efficient. This latest visit, I enjoyed the Chicken & Prawns fettuccine in a creamy tomato sauce. Very tasty, I’d have ordered more if I had the room! There was a great band playing music that didn’t overwhelm conversation and added to the warm environment. Definitely go here to have a great time!

Food was awesome! Ambience is very pretty and nice especially during Christmas time!! Great place for big group.

I have been to this restaurant many times. My husband liked his dinner but mine was over cooked seafood. When we were leaving the place this sign was on the downstairs washroom. I emailed about it and they said it was to elicit conversation. Well.. let's say it did and it was not the kind a business would like to hear. Still they want it up. I won't be going there again. Very disappointed in their business ethics.

Wonderful decor and legacy and authenticity. Food was really good. Mothers Day was insane there and the staff did an amazing job serving everyone. Shout out to Angela our server and Stefan the Manager/proprietor. Really nice people and worked so hard so that we could enjoy a special Mother's Day. 😀

Service wasn't so good as used to be. Not sure if was bc of new management. Our waitress tried really her best. But there's so many large crowd in the restaurant on a Friday night with so little staff working! Didn't even have our cutlery to use to eat our dinner... the menu takes forever to arrive not to mention our food and drinks. We felt bad repeatedly asking our server where's our food / drink no cutlery?? The worst part of it is the gratuity is already included for unsatisfactory service. I used to book large family parties at this place... not anymore the past few years bc of their service.

We only discovered Stefanos a couple of months ago. The place has the most incredible ambiance. More so than any other place I've been. And the live band is a lot of fun. It is the best dine and dance experience we've ever had, and the place has rapidly become a family favourite.

Friendly staff, Good food, and a nice adult environment. A good place to be at after hard work days.

We were at the restaurant for a Company Christmas party. The holiday decor looked great. The good was delicious. A nice place for a group gathering!

Love the food, drinks and ambiance at this restaurant. Great place to have an event/bday . I would definitely recommend this place

It’s been 10 years that I have been going to Stefanos Resto and it was always a great experience not until last weekend , March 17,2018. We were celebrating a friend ‘s birthday party , and for some reason our designated waitress is so unhappy that every time we ask her for something, she always says “she only have two hands” and that’s what she said during our stay in Stefanos. Don’t get me wrong, She still brings what we ask for but I am just wondering, if she claims that she only has two hands but no manners and right conduct, why is she working in a good place like this? In my opinion, if she can’t deal with public, she should work in the back. But on the other hand, I better make sure I check my plate before I eat!! It will be awhile before I go back to Stefanos. I wouldn’t Want to spend my hard earn money to a treatment like this.

Great restaurant. Many family dinners held here, food was excellent , service A- ONE. Always a great time there was about 25 to 30 people at our gathering and no complaints.
Casey Roberts
Terrible service. Completely ignored the entire night. We ordered several drinks and had to wait over 20mins to get one, if that. If we even ended up getting the one we ordered. Ordered a double Caesar had to send it back 3 times to have it made by the owner. The food was ok....missing items from entrees. Lack lustre effort from our server. Asked for the bill waited 45mins and not once did she come back and offer anything to us and we had to ask again for our bill. The service definitely ruined my dinner experience at this place, and it's unfortunate because it has a great atmosphere. I won't be back!'

Wonderful, as usual! Wanted to catch the last of Christmas, wonderful service, delicious food! It is one of my favourite places in my favourite city of New Westminster!

• located along Columbia street, just a short distance when you get off the skytrain platform; pay street parking from 0800-2000; you can use Passport Canada app for paying to park
• 2 level resto, 1st level is the lounge area (closed when I was there on a Sunday evening). 2nd level, good seating capacity wherein you can invite a big group of people and have your function there
• Food is the usual...
- Appetizer plate: Calamari, Spanakopita, Hummus, Meatballs - fried, baked, its good!
- Roast Lamb - sooo tasty, cooked to perfection but it doesn’t come with the bone which most people prefer. I like it attached and meat falling off the bone tender. A little greasy I find at the end, but the taste, yum!
- of course these are served with rice pilaf, roasted potatoes & Greek salad; the usual
• Service 3/5, when I mean pack my left overs to go, I want everything including the Tzatziki. Unfortunately, it was a group of 30 when I was there so the waitress won’t probably care although she was told to. That’s my only disappointment. Her service is fair, not the best
• if you want to have a quiet, nice dinner for two, this is a good place
• Will be back again for more

Overpriced food for something that tastes like any other Greek restaurant. I guess you're paying for the location and atmosphere. Theres a lounge downstairs which I didn't get to see as we were having dinner upstairs in the restaurant. The decor was quite nice and theres a stage and dance floor which wasn't being used while we were there on a Sunday night. I ordered the Prawn & scallop sautĂŠ $28 and asked for fettuccine alfredo (+ $1.50) instead of the usual sides. I was so disappointed when I found out they only give 4 pieces of prawns and 4 pieces of scallops. My friend got the prawn and scallop sautĂŠ as well but with the usual sides and she got the same amount of seafood. I thought that was such a ripoff. There was too much garlic in their alfredo sauce. I love fettuccine alfredo so I try it everywhere I go for pasta so I know how it should taste. Their hummus was way too garlicky as well. I couldn't believe I was saying this because I absolutely LOVE garlic. My friend ordered the tiramisu cake and she said they put way too much cinnamon powder on top. She had a coughing fit while eating it. Their fried cheese appetizer (Saganaki) tasted really good though. Their dolmades were gross to be honest. The meatballs were overcooked. You can see it in the picture below of the Appetizer for 4 platter. Never coming back. I ended up paying $62 for my dinner, 1 glass of 6oz red wine, and my share of the appetizers.

I have been to Stefano's several times for lunch and dinner. It is one of the best Greek/Mediterranean restaurants in the lower mainland. My family and friends always rave about the saganaki, kalamari and roast lamb. I read through some of the existing reviews and I can't relate to the negative ones at all. The food and service have always been great! There are not many restaurants that offer live bands, great food and a great atmosphere for special occasions on weekends, and they don't ask you to be out by their next seating like a lot of other restaurants nowadays! In my opinion there aren't many other restaurants that can compare to the overall experience that you can have at Stefano's. It is relaxed and very authentic! Can't wait to go back!

Ordered the mousaka, it was not good at all. The bechamel was so thick and gross, and had no flavour. I didn't enjoy anything on my plate. I normally read reviews before trying a new place, unfortunately I didn't this time. If I read the reviews I would have saved my money.

Upon entering the restaurant, there was a weird smell despite it was a large establishment with high ceiling. The restaurant was quite empty at lunch on a weekday and we were seated promptly. The menu has a lot of selections and there were all priced $10-$17. We shared a calamari as appetizer and I had the lamb chops with ceasar salad. The calamari was quite greasy and tasted bland. The tzatziki sauce did not help boosting the flavour either as it was lacking salt. My main dish came with 4 pieces lamb chops, half of a baked potato which had a funny sour taste (that might have caused the weird smell in the restaurant), ceasar salad that wasn't too fresh, and rice. The lamb chops had the right flavour but some parts were a little burnt. They could be a bit more tender. Two hours after the meal, my throat was really dry and I couldn't stop drinking water. As I'm quite sensitive to MSG, I suspected they added that to the food to boost the flavour. Not recommended.

Highly not recommened. My husband &! I told our server that we prefer to have less carbs for dinner, thus, requested to substitute potatoes with more veggies in our entrees.

our server was courteous enough to ask if the chefs would charge us extra for the substitution. we were told it'll be 50 cents extra per person which we agreed.

when our meals were served, we were surprised to find the plate loaded with rice and very little cooked veggies, two asparagus to be specific. when we asked another server to explain what types of cooked veggies are normally served with entree, she said it's usually one piece of asparagus followed by a potato, rice & salad (Greek/Caesar). so our 50 cents got us one extra piece of asparagus less one potato.

our server returned & in turn asked the chefs to give us more veggies , that is, 2 more asparagus each. we can only laugh about this now since it's never been a problem with other Greek restaurants in Richmond or Vancouver.

Food in general is over cooked and under seasoned. the lamb soulavki was so cooked, My husband has been there before & quality of food was much better at lunch than at dinner. avoid Fri & Saf nights as the place is filled with big parties and service is non existent, especially when you don't order any liquor with your meals.

food items range from $19-25!per person which is quite expensive for this part of town in New West. for the same price, you get more attention with your diet needs and service to say the least.

nonetheless, it wa my first and last dining experience here. the live band made up for the bad food & service on a Fri evening.

highly not recommend for reasons above.

Terrible Service. Made reservations for Mothers Day. There with the family. Our dinner took an hour and a half to come to our table. I am sure that was only because we told the waitress we were going to walk out. Not once during our wait did the waitress come and let us know why the food was taking so long or offer to bring bread to hold us over. Nothing! When we complained, she just kept saying that due to Mothers Day the kitchen was busy. If the kitchen could not handle the number of reservations that were made, they shouldn't have over booked then. They have just lost 10 potential repeat customers. Even after the wait, and we were hungry, the food was just okay.

Went to Stefanos with a small group of colleagues for a quick lunch. The service was very prompt and yet still friendly. As soon as we were ready to order our server was there for us abs she took our orders without writing them down. When they were delivered she got all the deliveries correct.
I had the lamb souvlaki lunch special that was $8. It was a very good value. Nice potato, good sized plate of rice and enough lamb to satisfy my lunch hunger. The best part was the Greek salad. All too odeon you get tomatoes that are tasteless. Not today! Perfectly ripe tomatoes with big chunks of cucumber. The feta cheese made for a perfect salad.
Another thing worth noting, the washroom at Stefanos is very modern, clean and well organized. This may seem like an odd thing to mention but too many restaurants don't pay enough attention to the facilities.
I will return and I definitely recommend Stefanos in New Westminster.

Not worth the money.. Went with a large birthday party, they provided us with one server to handle a large group of about 45 people. Poor girl worked her butt of, can't understand why management would only have one server handle such a large party. Finally got our food 2 hours after being there. Food was overcooked, dry and bland. Didn't even get our Pita bread till after we had finished eating. $21.00 a plate - would have expected something that at least tasted good. Wouldn't go back.

Tonight was my second time to Stefano's. The service was extremely poor both times. Tonight we waited 40 minutes for food and another 40 to get our bill. When the bill came for our table of five, our server had to revise it three times before it was correct. I only realized after paying and after chatting to my friends about their bills that I had been over charged on every item. I will never go back to this restaurant.

To expensive for microwaved meals. The best thing we can say about Stephanos is the service is great. Attentive and cheerful. The decor is good too.
But the food itself really sucks. The dolmathes appy was fine, the lemon sauce good, but weak flavored. The humous was watery.
Both our meals came in well timed, thanks to the serving staff but my wife's cordon bleu was drab and cold. A corner of my mousaka was also cold. Normally I pass on the rice in a Greek restaurant and order extra potatoes, but this time I didn't which turned out for the best. Greek potatoes take time to cook, but these ones were uncooked, period. Half raw.
We didn't stay for desert.

Good Food, great service. We ordered two filet mignon entrees tonight, the steaks were cooked exactly to our requests, the cuts of meat was perfect. The trimmings are plentiful and cooked to a slight firmness (not over cooked).
The baclava ice cream cake is just over the top good.
My elder auntie is a bit of a chatterbox, and the wait staff were absolutely patient and polite. We didn't feel rushed and were encouraged to stay and be comfortable (unlike other dining establishments). It was a full house tonight with a live band and a full dance floor. The restaurant was decorated for Christmas with excellent taste.

Worse place. I went dere last night. the food was so bad and service was reaaly bad i waited 40 min for my food.it was not busy at all.nobody came to us after serving food .i asked to refill my water glass abd server came after 20 mins. really disappointed

Bad service, bad food.. Went with my family last night. The place looks nice and they have a live band but we had to wait half an hour for our orders to be taken and about an hour for our orders to be served. I asked for the chicken and shrimp fettuccine with cream sauce. It was so bland i could taste my own tongue more than the dish itself. They also just plopped a plate of pasta swimming in sauce and barely any meat in front of me, the whole plate costs $18 and it didn't even come with garlic bread or anything. I will definitely not be coming back.

You have to drink alcohol. Been here more than a couple of times ........If you aren't drinking, you'll receive basically no service until your check is promptly dropped off when your fork has hit the table. Nearly all of the food was overcooked, but honestly the "service" just ruins it anyway. I usually order tea after a heavy supper, but they seem to want us out of their establishment quickly.

Deceptive!. Last summer, I went to Stefanos after work frequently, sitting outdoors, enjoying a beer and an appy - always Calamary -, sometimes two appies. Usually I was the only person sitting on the sidewalk patio.

Yesterday, for the first time this year, I made it back there, around 5pm. Nobody was sitting outside; the sign still said, in big red letters, 50% off all appies from 3-6. I enjoyed my treat until I went inside to pay and pointed out that the full $ 11.00 had been charged for the Calamary appetizer. The waitress was going to change it, but the manager argued that the Calamary appetizer was not part of the deal. I told them that it has always been part of the deal, in fact that the wording on the sign clearly said "all appies". Then he told me that the 50% special was now only for the lounge.

Looking at the sidewalk sign again, I saw that there is actually the word Lounge on it in a tiny green font (not sure if that was the case last year also).

The extremely deceptive advertising and the manager's dismissive arguing is more than enough to prevent me from ever returning to Stefano's. Ded-blows to business and so is the imprudent move to exclude ever-vacant side walk tables from the special!

I recently went to Greek Taverna on Columbia Street in New West and really enjoyed their food. I thought I should give Stefanos a try. The menu at Stefanos is a bit more expensive. At both places, I tried the lamb entree. I found my meal at Stefanos very bland. I don't normally add salt to my plate, but I had to. Also, my salad got really warm and mushy on the plate. I just couldn't finish it. My friend ordered the calamari dinner. It wasn't as crispy as I liked. However, Stefanos has a great dessert menu. Their Baklava ice-cream cake and baklava are too die for! And FYI, there is free parking located in the back.

Pleasantly surprised!. My Mom and I had heard good things about Stephano's...we went on a Friday long weekend so it was quiet. We proceeded to have one of the best experiences at a restaurant we've ever had. The restaurant is very large with alot of plants, but not junky like some other Greek places. We were impressed at how spotless it was..very nice ambiance. The Roast Lamb was to die for, moist, tender and deelish. The rice pilaf and potatoes were fantastic, not greasy at all, the veggies were all very fresh. We had the Baclava Ice Cream Cake for dessert and it was Fabulous! I would go there for that alone. I cannot say enough about the service, our girls Andrea and Gina were AWESOME!!! They both have been there many years which is unheard of, and they treated us like queens. They are keeping it "old School", which means the best service ( no bimbos here). There was a small live band that played good music...( not just romantic) we ended rockin' on the dance floor which I don't really do..the dance floor is large. Gina had people up and partying! We closed the place down and can't wait to go back. Good job Stephano's!

Very warm welcome!. We came in to celebrate my wife's birthday. I ordered roasted lamb and it was soooo goood!!!! The server make us feel at home as in we feel like we've known her for a long time! She even gave my wife a free cake! And the Baklava Ice Creme Cake! Save some room after the main course. You're dinner won't be complete without it! I promise you, you won't regret it!
And by the way, if you have picky kids, they have some fries and chicken.

I was there 2 minutes ago i spend in lane 30 minutes after I was waiting 1,5 hour for my order and when I asked what's going on guy told me they are busy but pay for the wino and go that was his advice they are scam back I hate this place never back
Yvette
Have been coming here for years - best saganaki in town! Never disappointed.

Surprise BDay party for my friends BDay dinner. O.M.G This was my first time and last time! The restraunt lacked in the kitchen meals were soooo long and I heard more than one server say its coming .... It's coming ..... I'm sorry .... I'm really sorry. I'm not referring to just our table but the ones close by to! Really needs a Chef Ramsey to straighten them out. I feel sorry for there lack of communication lead to my friend going home almost three hours later and no meal for her but thank God her kids ate! We sent back two halibut dinners... It tasted off and four individuals who tasted all said the same thing! Not fresh! I walked up towards the bar to get some mints to take away the lingering nasty taste! I told the fellow that gave them to me why we needed them ... He responded by saying oh your the one who returned the meal... I said yes and he said they just got the halibut today? I know it was bad and hope no one gets sick. I only has to have one bite to know right away... Halibut is one fabulous fish because it's texture is firm and it doesn't taste fishy or smell fishy... This tasted awful! To bad they didn't offer those that waited hours and I mean hours a appy or anything. No reason to go back especially when there are so many choices out there. Restraints are a dime a dozen and finding a good on is something to share as is sharing the ones that aren't. There above reasonable when it comes to the $$$ to . Food def. not above average on the other dishes I tried . I pray they get it together so the waitresses don't have to run around saying I'm sorry I'm sorry I'm really sorry and hope you come back. Really disappointed. They unfortunately didn't give me a reason to return but gave me reason to tell all my friends, council members, and co- workers about how not to waste there time or $$$ there. Sad my friend went home to have toast and peanut butter :-/
Sammy
Over Priced & Undersized portions. Flavor is lacking. Went there a couple of times. Wasn't happy. They're very stingy and cheap with the portions, especially considering the high prices. The food itself wasn't great at all either. There are a lot of much better Greek restaurants around, with lower prices and way better food. I'm never going back, and I hope most people find somewhere better to go.

Went on friday... The host was friendley and on the ball... The band was awesome, the food was great.. I recomend this place to everyone!!

Great Ambiance, so so food. We had a company xmas dinner on Sunday over there, and as most of the previous reviews, we also got a mixed review on this one, so I'll just summarize on how we feel for Stefanos:

- Ambiance: You already know, great ambiance, great decor, nice band~! 5/5
- Service: Great! 5/5
- Value: You got the idea, and pricy on drinks... 2/5
- Food: Appetizer platter is great, for the main course, the prawn is great!
However, the roast lamb taste salty outside, blend inside, and it's bit chewy(not soft&tender).
For the souvlaki, there's only 1 skewer, and it's kinda dry & blend...
Dessert we had on the set is Greek style tiramisu, a lot of people doesn't really like it, or feel just so so on the taste-wise. 2/5

Overall, we'll give a 3/5 star for Stefanos.

I hosted my work Christmas party here and fun was had by all. The service was perfessional and fast. Food was amazing. The atmosphere was inviting and comfortable yet classy and festive. Stefan, the owner was fantastic to plan and organize with. Had zero problems and danced to their awesome house band till closing. Thanks stefano's for a memorable night.

Delicious food. The upstairs is a great place for a date or large parties. They always have a live band. The downstairs has just been renovated in to a lounge serving Greek tapas that is so good. They have great specials on appy's between 3-6 and tons of tv's for all the sporting events. The owner is always walking around meeting an greeting. The bartenders in the lounge are friendly and enthusiastic. I highly recommend this place.

My Favourite Greek. I discovered Stephanos 4 years ago while working a short stint in New West. Superb Greek food that has had me coming back for years!

The spanakopita tastes great, their ceasar salad dressing is some of the best (very unique), saganaki is delicious, and both their rice and potatoes are very flavourful.Trying their cheesecake is a MUST! It is home made by the owner's family - to die for! It's medium priced, but considering there is nightly entertainment and a very romantic vibe, it makes for a great date place!

Another big bonus - they also take large group reservations on weekends!

Ive been going to Stefanos ever since I was born (21 years) my mom even worked there when she was 16-19. So at least 30 years of wonderful food and great service. We personally know the owners and never had a unsatisfied meal. Best kalamari in town including their tzasiki! Their Saganaki is simply amazing. We are forever customers to Stefanos!

Not worth it. Food was greasy and fatty. The calimari was ok

Overpriced, Bland, Unfriendly Service. Friday Night, Dinnertime (6:30 ish)
First off, the waitress comes to the table and without a smile says, What do you want? We hadn't had a chance to look at the menu yet and she looked annoyed when we told her so. It cost $10 for an appetizer Saganaki which came with one pita (which tasted quite good but I found that pricey) The portion I ordered of Roast Lamb (my FAVOURITE Greek dish) was small and bland. They do not serve the full shoulder but only a small heap of shredded lamb with diced onions on top. The rice was also bland and undercooked. The dish cost $17 (!) I wasn't especially hungry and asked to have it packed up. The waitress brought the container back and literally dropped it on the table without a word. No bag. I looked inside and saw she hadn't bothered giving me the tzatziki or the salad that came with my meal. When I asked the hostess about it, she nearly argued with me, saying, Well most people don't WANT the salad. Being as I paid for it, shouldn't I have the option??? They did bring me another salad however and the hostess did apologize, which I appreciated.
The restaurant was quite busy and we did not lack in visits to the table, however the waitress was unfriendly and the staff while plentiful seemed unorganized. Three separate occasions we were approached by both the waitress and the hostess with the same questions. Also, my friend ordered a soft drink, which was filled to the top with ice, and when she asked for a refill the waitress said, they're not free. Definitely lacking in customer service. So basically we paid $5 for two cups of ice with a bit of soda.
My friend took her time with her meal(One skewer of Souvlaki, also $17!!) and twice the waitress came by and asked to take her plate. One of the times she actually had my friends utensils in hand before my friend stopped her. Her plate was nowhere near finished.
The inside of the restaurant is beautiful and there was live music being set up as we left. Perhaps people feel the atmosphere is worth the "militant" service and overpriced bland food, but I do not. I will not return and will not recommend this restaurant. There are far better options available!!!

Flip a coin next time i decide to go here. FOod is over priced and the portions are small. Also the food has no taste watsoever the only thing that tasted good was the bread. Service was okay but considering at around 12 noon we were the only people in the whole place how hard can it be for one server to serve one table. Never go back here again unless i flip a TWO FACE COIN and both sides me NO!

Dan-O-Might
The best Greek food in new Westminster. Grate to take a date. Live bands and djs on the weekend. A bit costly but the food is worth it. Monday is cheep souvlaki. 10 bucks and a lot of food.

Taking a recommendation from a friend of a friend, we found ourselves at one of the two Greek restaurants, facing each other on Columbia Street. We had missed our chance to complete a diagonal reverse stall parking in front, so were forced to lap around the block. Good thing too as it led us to free parking in the back, with an entrance that didn't require walking upstairs to enter the dining area. It was slow on a Wednesday at 8pm. The GM, Stefan (probably who the restaurant was named after) was working the floor and kitchen along with one server and two kitchen hands. We saw him seating tables in the begin of our dinner, and hosing down the restaurant's exterior when we left. The space was huge with vaulted ceilings and enough room for a stage amongst all the dining tables. On the stage were musical instruments and a large novelty treble clef. The entire place was made alive with abundant greenery. Potted plants balancing on ledges and a forest of leaves and branches assemble in

We used to eat at Stefanos many years ago and fondly recalled the great Greek fare that we had back then. The problem is that we never found our way back here for such a long time. It’s not for lack of trying though…
