I was down in new west a few weeks ago on business and stumbled upon this place. I really wanted to try the bees brisket but it was sold out everyday before I could get there. I ended up being booked in the hotel again next door, pre ordered my dinner for the next day for pick up with out a problem. Omg!! It was sooo good and absolutely worth the wait! The staff were kind and absolutely willing to take my order for the next day. The beef was some of the best I’ve had. The biscuits... were phenomenal!!! I do love smoked meat, but will be back for biscuits for sure!! Thanks Re up!😊

What a surprise in disguise. I was expecting a mall quality meh meal, but was positively surprised. Best BBQ pulled pork sandwich this side of the Fraser River. Well "that" since I live in Langley, but looking forward to having to pay the toll fee to get my BBQ fix! Great price, great bread, great fries and to top things off the ginger beer as beverage was the proverbial cherry on top. Hubby had the brisket sandwich, and he agrees. Friendly staff too (handled an issue with another customer like pros despite the young look of the shift). Keep up the good work, looking forward to the next time!

F*cking amazing! Best BBQ I've ever tasted! Ribs were the closest to an award winning competition rib I've witnessed in a restaurant environment.

Today myself and a couple friends decided to go to Re-Up BBQ for lunch. It was an interesting experience as we weren't expecting it to be in a small food court. We split the Proposition Joe' Platter (which normally feeds 4). The ribs and pulled pork were so succulent, juicy and smokey, the fried chicken was absolutely perfect and the buttermilk biscuits were delicious. We weren't a fan of the coleslaw or the black bean and corn chili. My only wish is that you got a wider variety of meats, especially since you're paying $68. 3 meats isn't enough. Like sausage, brisket, etc. Nevertheless it was still delicious. We'll definitely be back.

My husband and I had Re-Up cater our wedding reception at the Queensborough Community Hall in June, and everyone loved it!! The food came delicious, hot, and there was more than enough to feed everyone there, with leftovers. Thanks for helping make our party a huge success, we're Re-Up fans for life!

Re-Up is on our go-to list for take out. Fried chicken is amazing - we regularly get a bucket on Fridays, add a rack of ribs, and share it with friends. The chicken is now organic and free range - which makes me feel better about eating said fried chicken (organic is healthy, right?) Owners will go as far as to make wine pairing recommendations - although their sweet tea is pretty darned amazing, as well. Can't say enough good things about this place and its people! A gem of New West.

Went there spur of the moment one morning, had the biscuits and gravy with an egg and beef brisket. Ordered a growler of tea as well, sheet being given a sample by the very cheerful cashier. Absolutely phenomenal. Really glad I made that impulsive decision, I'm going to have to do this more regularly.

I should have known that the line up at Re-Up BBQ would be prodigious as many of us had chosen the New Westminster Quay for for a rare sunny and mild winter day walk.  So at 1:00 o'clock, the line up to order from Re-Up was back to the riverside entrance of the quay market, promising at least 20 minutes of waiting. To make matters worse, one of the staff came out to inform us all that because they had so many orders on the go, that food would be another 45 minutes after ordering! Aaargh! But then a magical thing happened! The line up in front of me to order, totally vanished, making me the first in line! Next, the nice woman who took my order confided that they said 45 minutes to be safe. We were eating within 30 minutes! We ordered The Full Barnyard which is a decent selection off Re-Up's menu for 2-3 people. Now, I have eaten lots of barbeque and I have eaten a fair bit of it in America, land of low and slow, but I don't consider myself to be a qualified Memphis in May level judge. So maybe some would be more critical but I really only have good things to report. The brisket was tender and juicy. The easiest fail for barbeque has to be dry brisket but it was the opposite of that. I have no recipe for the sauce they used but it is house made and fruity. They confided that there are raisins and vinegar and the overall was a bit sweet and tangy. Excellent! I would also return for the ribs. Meaty and tender, all the same adjectives from above apply here. A little spicier on the sauce but not overly. And finally, of the meats, the fried chicken was excellent. All the fried chicken superlatives apply here. The salty crispy chicken provides a nice contrast to the rich sweetish meats. I love it when sides are not an afterthought! The slaw was leaning in the mustard/vinegar direction and just creamy enough. Very refreshing! There were also pit beans. These were not cooked to death but retained some texture and were spicy! The biscuits were a little dry and could have used butter although there were plenty of dipping choices on the platter. At $36, I would call this a good deal. It fed 2 hungry sun worshippers with a small to go box of leftovers. To be honest, I wasn't expecting it to be so good! I guess, since we're not in Texas or Kansas, decent barbeque is a wonderful find!

I love the fried chicken that I ordered. Very thin breading and very crispy skin. It perfectly blends with their I believe homemade special sauce which is a bit sweet. The size of chicken pieces is a bit smaller than other restaurant. The coleslaw is good, a bit less of mayo. Yam fries, ribs and beans are good too. Staff are attentive and accommodating. They offer discounts every day. I recommend others to try.

I am not sure how this place rating is only 3.5. They have the best fried chicken and biscuits in town!!! I have been a big fan of Church's chicken but Re-up bbq will be my number one!!!!

This place is so great! It's a meat-lover paradise.
Out of everything they have their fried chicken might be the best. This comes from a person that think chicken is boring, I rather eat anything else rather than chicken. But this place surprised me with their fried chicken, I really recommend it.
Their brisket is the second best thing on their menu, it's also a must try. This is followed by the pulled pork and last their ribs. The ribs a very nice but nothing that memorable. Also, their biscuits and homemade lemonade are must tries.
I recommend getting a platter which comes with a little bit of everything, it's a lot of food so bring a couple of friends to share it with.
Oh! also, they have a funny discount system based on the day of the week, so make sure to check the day and if you qualify for a discount.

We will be returning! We had the Friday evening special, 10pcs Fried Chicken and slaw for $25. Chicken was crispy with a light flakey batter. Well drained and did not grease our mouths, but rather each juicy piece left us wanting more. If we wanted to really critique, it would be a personal choice of wanting a little bit more heat or spice to the seasoning. The slaw was clean and fresh and again light on the dressing and NOT heavy or soggy (sorry caps key was stuck).
Different ones around us who had bbq ribs or pulled pork sandwiches all seemed to be enjoying their meals and leaving nothing behind on their plates.

been here a few times. might have even reviewed it.
not sure why i'm even here but i'm a sucker for bbq.
the brisket sandwich. had it before and wasn't impressed mostly due to the lack of meat. today was different. lots of thick cut pieces. very tasty. the chibatta bun unfortunately doesn't have great stability. the potato salad was great but lacking in salt. this place is really hit and miss. today was a hit.

It troubles me to a degree to do this.. But onward I shall go.
The food is amazing and made with skill and great care. You can taste it and see it I know. Ribs, chicken, red gravy, chili are some of my favourites. Also the brisket is to die for and the BBQ sauce is unreal.. For New West:" The Land of Bland" I thank RE-Up for coming and hopefully staying. Also, make sure you sample the breakfast menu.. Service is as
expected in a place of this calibre but slow from time to time.. In the negative and considering how much cash I dropped here I cannot believe denial of service when i was all of two minutes late for the special on the last round.. That is the troubling part and hence the reason for this info.. I could not think of any other way to pass on my disappointment in this area to the owners.

Delicious! Tried the beef brisket and fried chicken. My partner said this was the best fried chicken he's had in Vancouver (area), and he's from London so that says a lot! Beef brisket was my favourite because I hate dry meat and this was the most tender and flavourful beef brisket I've had in a while. It's slightly pricey for how much you get, so that's where the 0.5 was deducted.

After trying some Thai food next to this restaurant, we definitely had to try their BBQ food.

Tables and chairs are in a food court. We had to order the food at a cashier and waited for them to call our name to pick up the food. They got lots of different types of BBQ food. Chicken, pork and beef. We ordered two pieces of fried chicken with southern BBQ sauce and some beef briskets with their special sauce. Each one came with coleslaw salad. The coleslaw salad was good. Of course the main characters here were the fried chicken and beef briskets. The fried chicken was crispy and juicy. The pieces were big as well! They couldn't compare with others such as KFC and Church's Chicken. The texture of the beef brisket was soft (not tough at all) and it matched very well with the sauce. Great food!

We hope to come back here to try other dishes of BBQ food.

Had to check it out, ordered the fried chicken of course & fries.
It's good, the chicken that is. Nice, crisp batter, juicy, not oily.
Nice sized pieces.
They do the chicken to order so it does take 12 - 15 minutes.
The coleslaw could have used some seasoning, a bit more salt.
The fries had what tasted like Lawry's seasoning salt on them, not a fan of that.
Table beside me had ribs, looked good.
I'll come back and check out the ribs & brisket and see if the coleslaw was just a weak batch.
Nice spot to sit on a nice day.

RE-UP Part 2 :  The Brisket Sandwich : It was good, flavour, portion size but didn't knock me off my seat & I forgot to order the coleslaw until I got half way home (

Mixed reviews. One thing for sure is that they know how to cook meat. Chicken was everything you'd hope for... so crispy but tender on the inside. The pulled pork was moist and flavourful. But sides were less than desirable. Just no flavour to the coleslaw, biscuit, or gravy. That was a let down but the iced tea was really refreshing. The portion sizes were small for what you got but it's worth a try. Go for the meat but forget the sides.

Doesn't live up to the hype. Dragged my husband and daughter here after hearing about their chicken.
The chicken was just ok. Skin was somewhat greasy when we were expecting crisp and flavourful.
We also got the pulled pork sandwich. The pork itself was very good and had a great smokey flavour. The bun and coleslaw were just ok.
The regular fries were good, we also got chill cheese fries. They came with a lot of toppings and sauces neither of felt improved chilli cheese fries.
The highlight was the biscuit. It was tender, flakey and flavourful.
Overall I have head better BBQ, not sure it was worth the price.

My friends and I went on a fried chicken crawl, looking for the best fried chicken in Vancity. I've been to LA chicken before and it was delicious but it was unfortunately too far for us to travel by transit. We looked up a couple of other places and many recommended Re-up in New Westminster so we decided to make a trip out there to try out their fried chicken.

For a place that specializes in BBQ, they sure make a mean fried chicken! This is a MUST TRY if you haven’t had the chance to taste it. My 2 pcs of chicken were very crunchy and juicy and came with a side of salad too – yum! I also ordered a refreshing Southern Sweet Tea and a side of poutine, which were also delicious and went oh-so-well with my fried chicken! Seriously, this is a great place to dine at if you’re ever by the New Westminster Quay (inside River Market food court area). I have read some of the other reviews out there and they weren’t all that great. However, based on my visit, I have to say that you should put it on your foodie list because I absolutely enjoyed every bite of it.

We checked out the river market before our movie, and this was one of the places ive heard about multiple times from my friends who live in the area. Gotta say everything was on point, with the brisket and fried chicken being the best. The slaw is also great as it really helps cutdown all the meat.

Not the first time we've been to Re-up but it was the first time we tried their fried chicken. So crispy and not oily! The spices used in the batter were out of this world good. They have a deal on Fridays for chicken that we're now VERY interested in!

I love, love, love their Fried Chicken dinner:  10 pieces of local, organic, brined chicken cooked perfectly with a fantastic batter and tossed with a special seasoning salt, along with 4 gorgeous cheesy biscuits, and a tub of good coleslaw.

The service is always good here, and their specials are worth waiting for!

I get the fried chicken dinner when it's on special on Fridays.  MmmmmM.

I haven't tried much else on the menu, to be honest, as I'm not a big red meat eater.  But that chicken?  Wow.

My review in one word: tasty. Some of the best biscuits I've had in metro Vancouver: soft, fluffy and made fresh to order. Fabulous chilli, crisp sweet-tea, and delicious fried chicken sandwich.

Visited this place with low expectations (as I'm not a huge fan of BBQ) and was blown away. Really friendly staff and amazing food.

Wish this place was in Vancouver, but made our trip through New Westminster even better.

Not sure why this place doesn't have a higher rating--it is great BBQ and has some really awesome extra things such as their drinks. While they should totally consider moving to the rim of the building so they can be open later, they're worth leaving work early to get there, or to order take out and get it on the way home!

The smell of this place is just too awesome, some good food too. I often walk through the Quay and have to stop here, can't help myself. I've ordered the red gravy and biscuits, topped with bacon, an over easy egg and a delicious sauce that must have avocado and some citrus component. Hangover breakfast to the max. The biscuits are light and fluffy, with a slight crispness to the outside. The red gravy is not overly salted, smoky and filled with pulled pork. The sauce is a perfect compliment to lighten up an otherwise heavy meal.
BUT...The only downfall here is the ribs! Which is so strange. They smoke their own and the flavour is there, but I've found my dried out and a bit tough. It's too bad because they have all the know how but you're expecting somewhat fall off the bone or tender, but these were gnaw-worthy. And pretty pricey for the portion size. I'll still keep going to get my biscuits though!

You had me at "pulled pork". This food stall at the New West River Quay Market lured me in with the smell of bacon, but I ended up ordering the pulled pork platter. At $11 or $12 I was impressed at the portion size plus that it came with coleslaw and two additional sides.

The pulled pork was yummy - if a little dry - but the BBQ sauce took care of that. The chili was DIVINE - they could probably do good business just selling chili! The biscuit was soft and crumbly and came with what I believe was maple butter.

Overall, a great meal and an even better value. I'll definitely be back.

Top Notch. I don't understand some of the negative reviews here. This place has excellent BBQ. The ribs and brisket in particular are juicy and tender.

I also like the fact that they are not afraid the bring out the smoky flavour that BBQ should have. This place is great. If you're out in New West, give this on a try

Love it. Take the dog for a walk along the peir and stop by at reup for lunch. I don't know why other reviewers say the brisket is dry... I've gotten the brisket sandwich over and over and it it consistently delicious with there house made hot sauce. I'll keep going back!

Great Addition to Quayside. Nice to have proper BBQ in New West. Been there a few times and it's always been terrific. I was a little disappointed this past Sunday afternoon when brisket and bisquits were sold out. The corn and bean chili was good as was there house made cola. Biggest best surprise was the roll they toasted up for the chili. The most perfectly airy Portugese type roll I've ever had.

It'd be nice to buy by weight for takeout.

On the up and up.. Smokey? Check.
Moist? Check.
Good portions? Check.

I don't know if they've decided to actively address the issues brought up on this website, but my meal at Re-up was delicious. Unfortunately I was unable to try their new and (supposedly) improved brisket recipe, but I did have the smoked chicken, ribs, chili, and biscuit.

The ribs were tender, moist, smokey, and not overdone (they actually had texture, and didn't just slip off bone) .The BBQ sauce was a perfect balance of acidity, sweetness, and spicyness. I've never been to the southern states, but they're quite a bit better than what I've had at peckinpaw or memphis blues. While this isn't cheap food, I felt that what I paid was fair given the quality and amount of what I received.

In the past I've enjoyed the pulled pork sandwich, although I've noticed some incredible inconsistency in the way it's prepared. When it's good, it's maybe the best I've had. Perfect harmony. When it's not, it's hastily put together, with little attention as to the balance of flavour and texture between coleslaw, meat, and bbq sauce.

Given my meal last night, I'd certainly recommend Re-Up to friends. Here's to hoping they've taken criticism of their food and portions seriously, and will continue offering delicious BBQ to new westminster.

Good. I opted for the brisket sandwich and a house made sweet iced tea. The iced tea was pleasantly astringent with lots of citrus flavour and notes of...ginger maybe? Nicely quenching. The brisket on this occasion was very good, super tender and not dry at all. The slaw was super crisp and fresh and added a nice contrast to the soft tender beef. The spice rub was punchy, the smoke was...ok. Not sure what wood was used but it was a bit unusual. The portion was fine, but a tad expensive ($9 for the sandwich), however, I understand the long loving preparation that is involved in BBQ. Overall I'd say it was good brisket.

Vegan bean chili is fantastic. I'm semi-vegetarian so I haven't tried the actual BBQ, although my husband loves it. But I will happily eat the chili and coleslaw! I find getting the two sides is perfect for my lunch. Add their iced tea and I am very happy indeed!

Sooo I was craving fried chicken last week heheh. KFC was out of the question. I wasn't near a Churches LOL. So I headed to New Westminster to visit Re up BBQ! They're famous for their pulled pork but I've heard awesome things about their fried chicken too! I've been wanting to try them out every since I heard about their food truck. Sadly, their food truck was too far away (downtown) so I decided to go to their permanent store, located in the New Westminster Quay! SIGNATURE DISHES Reup bbq is known around town for having the best ribs, pulled pork and fried chicken! Their  gravy and southern style biscuits are also really popular! They even make their own pop in house! SERVICE  3 /5 stars    There were only 2 guys working there, one guy took my order then he went to the back to make it! He was friendly and waited patiently since I'm pretty indecisive LOL! AMBIANCE - Casual   Reup is located in the New Westminster Quay foodcourt! There's ample communal seating and a few tables for couples on the side. The last few times I went the tables were always really clean! PRICE - $/ $$ /$$$    Sandwiches and meat dishes start at $8 and you can add additional snacks to your plate! Your best bet would be to go with one of their bbq plates and add fries, gravy or biscuits! VALUE -  Poor/Okay/ Good /Great     The portion sizes are a little small for the price I paid, but you can tell they use quality ingredients and that they really put effort into making your food! (Click to Enlarge) Buttermilk Biscuits with white gravy $4  3/5 stars   This was my first time having southern style biscuits! The biscuits were soft, spongy like in texture, and covered with a thick, white gravy! The gravy wasn't too starchy like and had the perfect consistency. The gravy was loaded with spices and well flavoured. However, the seasoning wasn't very evenly distributed so some parts of the gravy was bland. They also have two other kinds of gravy to choose from! Fried Chicken $6 4/5 stars   Wow, thes

Located in the beautiful (and, to me, previously non-existent) River Market of the New Westminster Quay, they managed to get a fairly decent sized space. The restaurant is situated inside the market, which is fairly reminiscent of the market space at Granville Island.

Not content to rest their laurels on just BBQ, Re-up BBQ’s New Westminster storefront has upped the ante with Fried Chicken Fridays: a 10 piece “bucket” of uniquely seasoned fried chicken, four buttery biscuits and fresh, house-made coleslaw. All this for just $20.
