I was down in new west a few weeks ago on business and stumbled upon this place. I really wanted to try the bees brisket but it was sold out everyday before I could get there. I ended up being booked in the hotel again next door, pre ordered my dinner for the next day for pick up with out a problem. Omg!! It was sooo good and absolutely worth the wait! The staff were kind and absolutely willing to take my order for the next day. The beef was some of the best I’ve had. The biscuits... were phenomenal!!! I do love smoked meat, but will be back for biscuits for sure!! Thanks Re up!😊
What a surprise in disguise. I was expecting a mall quality meh meal, but was positively surprised. Best BBQ pulled pork sandwich this side of the Fraser River. Well "that" since I live in Langley, but looking forward to having to pay the toll fee to get my BBQ fix! Great price, great bread, great fries and to top things off the ginger beer as beverage was the proverbial cherry on top. Hubby had the brisket sandwich, and he agrees. Friendly staff too (handled an issue with another customer like pros despite the young look of the shift). Keep up the good work, looking forward to the next time!
Yes. We,re Eating Again.

I should have known that the line up at Re-Up BBQ would be prodigious as many of us had chosen the New Westminster Quay for for a rare sunny and mild winter day walk. So at 1:00 o'clock, the line up to order from Re-Up was back to the riverside entrance of the quay market, promising at least 20 minutes of waiting. To make matters worse, one of the staff came out to inform us all that because they had so many orders on the go, that food would be another 45 minutes after ordering! Aaargh! But then a magical thing happened! The line up in front of me to order, totally vanished, making me the first in line! Next, the nice woman who took my order confided that they said 45 minutes to be safe. We were eating within 30 minutes! We ordered The Full Barnyard which is a decent selection off Re-Up's menu for 2-3 people. Now, I have eaten lots of barbeque and I have eaten a fair bit of it in America, land of low and slow, but I don't consider myself to be a qualified Memphis in May level judge. So maybe some would be more critical but I really only have good things to report. The brisket was tender and juicy. The easiest fail for barbeque has to be dry brisket but it was the opposite of that. I have no recipe for the sauce they used but it is house made and fruity. They confided that there are raisins and vinegar and the overall was a bit sweet and tangy. Excellent! I would also return for the ribs. Meaty and tender, all the same adjectives from above apply here. A little spicier on the sauce but not overly. And finally, of the meats, the fried chicken was excellent. All the fried chicken superlatives apply here. The salty crispy chicken provides a nice contrast to the rich sweetish meats. I love it when sides are not an afterthought! The slaw was leaning in the mustard/vinegar direction and just creamy enough. Very refreshing! There were also pit beans. These were not cooked to death but retained some texture and were spicy! The biscuits were a little dry and could have used butter although there were plenty of dipping choices on the platter. At $36, I would call this a good deal. It fed 2 hungry sun worshippers with a small to go box of leftovers. To be honest, I wasn't expecting it to be so good! I guess, since we're not in Texas or Kansas, decent barbeque is a wonderful find!
I love the fried chicken that I ordered. Very thin breading and very crispy skin. It perfectly blends with their I believe homemade special sauce which is a bit sweet. The size of chicken pieces is a bit smaller than other restaurant. The coleslaw is good, a bit less of mayo. Yam fries, ribs and beans are good too. Staff are attentive and accommodating. They offer discounts every day. I recommend others to try.
I am not sure how this place rating is only 3.5. They have the best fried chicken and biscuits in town!!! I have been a big fan of Church's chicken but Re-up bbq will be my number one!!!!
This place is so great! It's a meat-lover paradise.
Out of everything they have their fried chicken might be the best. This comes from a person that think chicken is boring, I rather eat anything else rather than chicken. But this place surprised me with their fried chicken, I really recommend it.
Their brisket is the second best thing on their menu, it's also a must try. This is followed by the pulled pork and last their ribs. The ribs a very nice but nothing that memorable. Also, their biscuits and homemade lemonade are must tries.
I recommend getting a platter which comes with a little bit of everything, it's a lot of food so bring a couple of friends to share it with.
Oh! also, they have a funny discount system based on the day of the week, so make sure to check the day and if you qualify for a discount.
We will be returning! We had the Friday evening special, 10pcs Fried Chicken and slaw for $25. Chicken was crispy with a light flakey batter. Well drained and did not grease our mouths, but rather each juicy piece left us wanting more. If we wanted to really critique, it would be a personal choice of wanting a little bit more heat or spice to the seasoning. The slaw was clean and fresh and again light on the dressing and NOT heavy or soggy (sorry caps key was stuck).
Different ones around us who had bbq ribs or pulled pork sandwiches all seemed to be enjoying their meals and leaving nothing behind on their plates.
been here a few times. might have even reviewed it.
not sure why i'm even here but i'm a sucker for bbq.
the brisket sandwich. had it before and wasn't impressed mostly due to the lack of meat. today was different. lots of thick cut pieces. very tasty. the chibatta bun unfortunately doesn't have great stability. the potato salad was great but lacking in salt. this place is really hit and miss. today was a hit.
It troubles me to a degree to do this.. But onward I shall go.
The food is amazing and made with skill and great care. You can taste it and see it I know. Ribs, chicken, red gravy, chili are some of my favourites. Also the brisket is to die for and the BBQ sauce is unreal.. For New West:" The Land of Bland" I thank RE-Up for coming and hopefully staying. Also, make sure you sample the breakfast menu.. Service is as
expected in a place of this calibre but slow from time to time.. In the negative and considering how much cash I dropped here I cannot believe denial of service when i was all of two minutes late for the special on the last round.. That is the troubling part and hence the reason for this info.. I could not think of any other way to pass on my disappointment in this area to the owners.
Delicious! Tried the beef brisket and fried chicken. My partner said this was the best fried chicken he's had in Vancouver (area), and he's from London so that says a lot! Beef brisket was my favourite because I hate dry meat and this was the most tender and flavourful beef brisket I've had in a while. It's slightly pricey for how much you get, so that's where the 0.5 was deducted.
After trying some Thai food next to this restaurant, we definitely had to try their BBQ food.
Tables and chairs are in a food court. We had to order the food at a cashier and waited for them to call our name to pick up the food. They got lots of different types of BBQ food. Chicken, pork and beef. We ordered two pieces of fried chicken with southern BBQ sauce and some beef briskets with their special sauce. Each one came with coleslaw salad. The coleslaw salad was good. Of course the main characters here were the fried chicken and beef briskets. The fried chicken was crispy and juicy. The pieces were big as well! They couldn't compare with others such as KFC and Church's Chicken. The texture of the beef brisket was soft (not tough at all) and it matched very well with the sauce. Great food!
We hope to come back here to try other dishes of BBQ food.
Had to check it out, ordered the fried chicken of course & fries.
It's good, the chicken that is. Nice, crisp batter, juicy, not oily.
Nice sized pieces.
They do the chicken to order so it does take 12 - 15 minutes.
The coleslaw could have used some seasoning, a bit more salt.
The fries had what tasted like Lawry's seasoning salt on them, not a fan of that.
Table beside me had ribs, looked good.
I'll come back and check out the ribs & brisket and see if the coleslaw was just a weak batch.
Nice spot to sit on a nice day.
RE-UP Part 2 : The Brisket Sandwich : It was good, flavour, portion size but didn't knock me off my seat & I forgot to order the coleslaw until I got half way home (
Next-Up, Ribs. :)
