Great atmosphere and friendly staff. A lot of vegan options. My first time trying salmon Wellington and I was not disappointed!
Nice place, great food (a bit too much tho) and nice music. It just took a very long time to get the food as their chef had to leave earlier but at least they could make the food we wanted , otherwise we would leave because we went specifically for the salmon pie , made a reservation and they didn't told us at that time that it wouldn't be available. So it was nice they still could make it and it was very tasty.
Stumbled across this place after two other pubs didn’t allow dogs, and it felt like it was meant to be. As others have pointed out, patio is dog friendly. I mean VERY dog friendly - after asking if our dog could have a treat, the staff brought her a frozen saucer of salt- and seasoning-free beef and broth. Basically an epic dog popsicle. Probably ranked up there as one of the greatest days of my labrador’s life. Tables are sufficiently spaced that you can have a bunch of dog and non-dog groups hanging out without feeling cramped. Food was fresh & non-greasy with lots of meat, veg & vegan options, and service was above average. A happy place for humans and doggos. I would go back to Nanaimo just for this spot.
We were super impressed with the vegan only items side menu. This is the first pub I've ever been to as a vegan where I felt totally comfortable and at home. HUGE bonus points for indicating which beers and alcohols were vegan on the main drinks menu (of which almost all are). The food was delicious! Service was great! We will definitely be dropping in next time we're in Nanaimo. Has a classic pub feel, lots of seating, and vast pint menu.
A nice heritage railway station converted into a beautiful bar and restaurant after suspension of train services . This establishment has very good ambiance with friendly and cheerful waitress. Excellent customer service one will really enjoy. Prices are competitive to any other bars in town. When you are in Nanaimo it is worth a visit here for an evening or for lunch. They have huge hall for multipurpose under renovation above the main floor. Plenty of outdoor seatings with huge umbrellas right next to railway tracks. 2 hours fee parking is available on streets. It is at Selby St between Fitzwilliam and Franklin st.
Amazing vegan food. It was SO refreshing to go to an English pub with my non-plant-based family and have such an incredible menu of options for everyone to choose from. I am excited to continue supporting this restaurant, THANK-YOU for the incredible plant-based options, my fisch burger was to die for.
AMAZING vegan options, terrific staff, fair prices, cozy atmosphere. Will be coming back again and again.
