Fantastic taste of the food and wine! Everything sooo delicious Highly recommend it!
Ive been coming here for over 3 years now and the quality of the food and courteous staff have never failed to make my bad days better. Hats off to you guys, you are my favourite ramen spot in the city. :)
It is by far one of the best ramen soup i had ! Great service and really tasty !! I recommend it 100%
Le seul point négatif est le deuil que je dois vivre après avoir terminé mon ramen.
Excellent place for a quick meal. Volcano ramen is delicious. I could come back everyday
I always come back to this place, I love it. All the food I tasted is great and the staff is friendly.
A very good place either for lunch or just drinking sake and having some appetizers and snacks in the afternoon. The sake I like best is Black & Gold and their unadon, which means eel rice in Japanese is so brilliant! And the ramen tastes good as well. Absolutely worthy of coming often!
J'ai adoré! les portions invitent à la découverte, on peut prendre plusieurs plats et partager... et les Ramen sont délicieux.
My favorite resturant in the whole world. I come here every time I visit Montréal.
I am from the United states and make the 1000 mile journey to here every 2 months. Gotta have that ramen
I am from Texas and came to Montreal to work. Sumo Ramen has become one of my favorite restaurants, I try to go at least once a week!
Love their spicy beef soup and dumplings so nomzz!!
we ordered ramen all around! i had the chicken miso ramen as well as a japanese pancake! both were delicious. ambience was great, portion was big and we got served right away. service was friendly and i would definitely go again.
Came here with a colleague, it was late in the evening and nearing last call. Ordered two bowls of ramen and both were well portioned and flavorful. The noodles were well cooked but not the ramen noodle I am accustomed to. Nevertheless, this is a good spot for ramen if that’s what you are in the mood for.
Pourquoi on y va:
-pour un ramen qu'on peut personnaliser au niveau du bouillon, des pâtes et des ingrédients.
-pour un bon petit repas à petit prix
Sumo Ramen is easily one of the best ramen restaurants I've been to. I ordered the okonomiyaki to start and it was expertly done. The flavours were rich and bright, the only downside was the piece of wax paper on the bottom of the pancake which found its way into a few bites. The ramen itself was well balanced in flavour, and the noodle/topping/soup ratio was spot on. The egg could have been a tad runnier but it was overall a fantastic meal. 0 regrets. I'll be back for sure.
Pretty decent Japanese place in chinatown. The menu is varied so it's not just ramen, I personally was more impressed with my side order of eel than my ramen itself. Fish was super fresh, ramen was just OK, nothing special.
Pretty good ramen for the price. Place looks cheap but everything we had tasted good and fresh. Worth visiting.
Fyi you pay at the counter.
I remember when I ate with my family for the first (2011); it was horribly greasy and salty ramens, and servers weren't pay us attention...I was hoping to never come back again. Two years later, I came to try again this restaurant with my boyfriend; the ramens are decent good and least greasy an salty than before. Also, the servers are friendly. In conclusion, I actually like it and I'm definitely come back again ;)
Got the curry rice with fried chicken. it was okay :p
Excellent place unfortunately we arrived very late but the staff were very accommodating and got us in for a great meal. The chicken Ramen(miso broth-staff pick) is excellent and I highly recommend Gyoza and the fried tofu!
Thank you!

+4.5
Not as good as Japan but decent on a cold day. The Gyoza wasn't too good; I wouldn't get it again. The Fried Shrimp were average. The Ramen was a good attempt at real Japanese ramen, but just doesn't quite hit the mark. It's not bad and its certainly better than others I've tried, but I can't give it my highest recommendation. Try it and see what you think.
The staff is very friendly and were helpful with recommendations. Ive eaten here several times and have been pleased with the service every time and extremely pleased with the food. It is delicious!
Real Japanese ramen. Solid! This will be my ramen place in montreal. Had the negi shoyu, Portion was just right. The default 2 chashu slices were thick and juicy, the way chashu should be. I finished the broth... I know, not a healthy thing to do, but it was so f@#*ing good, I couldn't stop
A real ramen soup!. Super good food gr8 ambiance and service.... however if you are a bigger person its realy small.... i will no go back because its to tight up to have as many customers as possible... but amzing soup!
I really enjoy the Ramen !. I like the restaurant very much. i always go there for lunch. especially the dumpling, ramen and miso soup.
i lived in japan for several years. i really miss the miso flavour, however , SUMO RAMEN help me a lot. it is a real good restaurant . including the delicious food and friendly service.
Sumo bowl o' ramen. A volcanic ramen is a gigantic wooden bowl of delicious, semi-thick noodles, with spicy pork and egg in the mix. I ordered and can say the pork was indeed spicy, and the entire bowl delicious, and fulfilling. For two persons, one ordering a soda and myself; a small bubble tea, the bill was $25. This was a great price for us and the fulfillment we both received from our bowls of ramen. I can't think of a better way to end a vacation on a cheap and delicious note!
Finally, real ramen in MTL. This was the first bowl of ramen I have had in Montreal that reminded me of real ramen in Japan. The regular shoyu and miso flavors are the most "authentic", but the more hybrid ramens are very good as well. My favorite so far is probably the Volcano ramen with spicy ground pork. The spices blend very nicely with the broth, and really liven up the bowl. Don't forget to ask your waiter/tress to tell the chief to keep your noodles a little al dente, because I find if you don't ask they are often a little too soft. The gyoza are also good, but you better be hungry (or have someone to share with) if you get ramen AND gyoza. Bubble tea is pretty fake tasting, but I guess that's what bubble tea is, right? CASH ONLY! Be careful. But BYOB is awesome.
Two Bowls Please!. This place serves the largest bowl of Ramen I've seen! The Japanese Dunplings (Gyoza's) were very good.
