Barcola is the best restaurant I've eaten at in Montreal. Great food, staff and atmosphere. But the food is to die for!

Probably the best Italian restaurant in Montreal. You are not going to find fettuccine Alfredo or that kind of food but exquisite dishes as in modern restaurants in Italy.
The menu is not always the same and it you can get addicted to it. It is dangerous to walk next to Barcola at dinner time; if you read the menu you can't help staying there to eat!
First time to this lovely bistro. The first impression when I walked in the place was wow. It's so beautifully decorated and all the vinyl was impressive (they sell them too). We sat on the terrace. Their menu, a 3 course meal, is pretty limited with only a choice of beef or salmon. However, they change the menu weekly!
The first course was Prosciutto with cheese mousse and spinach. The second course was linguine and cherry tomatoes. The last course was either the steak or the salmon. The dessert is not included in the 3 course meal but I had the panna cotta.
One word for our meal : excellent! Everything was so flavorful, almost like a punch, and well balanced. My favourite was the prosciutto dish. It was original and so well thought.
It's a small and cozy restaurant with warm staff. You'll not be disappointed.
Everything was immaculate. The food, service, setting. The chef from Trieste does an incredible fixed menu.

The staff was great and helped us accomodate last minute additions to our table. They were also very knowledgeable about the menu, the chef, their products, etc.
Food was excellent, with quite various options, good quantities and balanced flavors. The wine list is also on par.
Very nice setting, with good musical choices.
Note that the place is on the small side, it would be advisable to make reservations.
I recommend getting an appetizer to share for two if you're not that hungry.
This is a superb little Italian gem. Danielle and her chef husband own a charming restaurant serving delicious food, for nine years running we were told. We stumbled on it late on a Saturday. There is little choice on the menu; in fact, we had no choices to make at all, except which exemplary adjectives to choose to describe each course of our meal. Since the prix fixe menu changes weekly, I won’t go into detail of the particular flavours or textures. Just know that everything will be absolutely delicious and served with an unpretentious friendliness. Highly recommend!
Excellent food and Excellent dining experience
Food quality, presentation, service, ambience. Excellent value . Highly recommend for casual or romantic dining. 3 course, 2 are fixed and main course has 2 choices. The menu changes often (weekly ?) and the chef makes a selection of courses that makes sense. Service pays attention to the dynamic of the table and keeps the correct pace, and do not rush or pull the plates to make room for the next customer. Proper COVID protocols, and cleanliness. Will return.
Delicious dinner, first class service.
