Absolutely fabulous neighborhood restaurant that is BYOW! LOVE THE casseolette in winter, sticks to your ribs. And the bread is always scrumptious.
New ownership but still a wonderful place with great foid
really cute & cozy atmosphere, friendly ( & hardworking) staff. The dishes were really flavorful and plentiful. Would come back in a heartbeat!
Absolutely wonderful little find. I celebrate all of my special occasions here. Never disappointed!
Meilleur resto sur le plateau et sur la planète. :-)
If I could give 10 stars, I would do it! Just waw!
Started with a Salmon tartar, and a garlic creamy snail platter. To be followed by a scrumptious Jaret d’agneau, and a super freah deer steak. It’s a byow restaurent, cozy atmosphere and the prices are decent for what you get! Totally recommend !! Check the photos

Small neighbourhood restaurant with a nice intimate ambiance.  The menu is simple but very appealing, with 6 French-inspired choices. We had the braised lamb shank with almonds and the magret de canard, and both were delicious. The mushroom and leek cream soup was also very good. The food is so rich that we were too stuffed to try the dessert. I will definitely go back again!I have to mention that the men's bathroom was spotless, I have never seen a cleaner bathroom in a restaurant.

If you’re like me I guess you have a hard time to associate very good food to BYOB restaurants. I mean don’t get me wrong I’ve found quite a few ones that were good and that match or surpassed quite a few other full service restaurants. I just had a hard time to put amazing food and BYOB together, well that was before I visited Le P’tit Plateau. I don’t know how I ended up wanting to try this place but I had seen good comments about the place and wanted to try it. I’ve made a reservation for a Saturday night, they offer 2 service one at 5:30pm and one at 8:30pm, I opted for the latter. When I got there I like the vibe just looking in from the window. One detail that I noticed on the door was also a 2012 Zagat sticker on the door with is a good and rare thing in Montreal.
One of the Best BYOB Montreal has to offer. I've never been anywhere else in the world where the BYOB culture is as high as it is in Montreal (could be due to our price gouging SAQ monopoly), and Le P'tit Plateau is for me one of the best in class. Its a very small and cozy dining room with an open kitchen. Service has always been very friendly and efficient. And the food is top notch french cuisine. I still dream of that cassoulet. All of the three courses are well executed, rich and very flavorful. Highly recommended. Reservations Needed and they only have 2 service (normal for BYOB).
Amazing. Delicious food, amazing staff, I recommend especially the magret de canard, which was spectacular. Nice little restaurant!!
French food at it's best. This is one of the best restaurants in the city! I'm not even crazy about French food, but this place is absolutely delicious! It's pricey, but worth every cent.
Enjoyed it. Great service. Superior appetizer. OK main dish. Overall a warm place to try tasty French food.
Love it!!. In my opinion this is THE best restaurant in the city! Absolutely blew my socks off!!
Absolutely loved it. From the salmon tartare to the venison and foie gras to the delicious sorbet, I spent a wonderful evening with my family!
Surely one of the best bistros in the city. Le P'tit Plateau might be THE place to go for duck and lamb on the Plateau in Montreal. The lamb is slow cooked for many hours, and the serving is generous -- so rich and satisfying. Duck in various forms is also renowned here -- especially the magret with sauces that vary from time to time. The Mediterranean fish soup was the best soup I ever had as an omnivore.
Since becoming vegetarian, I've learned that if you call a few days ahead, you'll also be sure to have a great vegetarian meal -- no choices, mind you, but the chef Alain is accommodating and does amazing work with quinoa, cooked savoury spinach, mashed celeriac, creamy sliced carrots in filo pastry stacks, and more. This might be the restaurant I've recommended more often than any other to friends and visitors to the city. Call ahead.
One of the best meals of my life!. Just one word sums it up: AMAZING!
This BYOW restaurant is tiny, warm, cozy, pretty and most importantly the food is to die for.
The 4 of us ordered 4 different dishes: veal, duck confit, cassoulet and lamb and we couldn't decide which one was the best. They were all cooked to perfection. And the portion sizes were huge. We unfortunately didn't have room for desert. But their coffee is equally delish.
So to say I recommend it is the understatement of the century. I can't wait to go back!!

Outstanding!. Really delicious food, really great atmosphere. Prices are excellent. (PS: Please don't have foie gras - anywhere - unless you understand and accept how it's harvested...)
One of my all time favourites. Charming little resto with consistently excellent food.
A tiny BYOB with an outstanding chef. Two seatings each evening and reservations are required. Classic French fare beautifully prepared. The cassoulet is excellent.
Fantastic. A new favourite. Try the foies gras. Don't show up without a reservation and if you're coming in in the winter close the outside door before you open the inside door folks. It gets cold in the winter in Montreal, the restaurant is small and it's not pleasant to have a really nice dinner interrupted by a cold draft. If you like this place try entrepont.
Not my first (and certainly not my last) BYOB experience, Montreal's Le P'tit Plateau offers a casual fine dining experience, scandalously decadent dishes, and no corkage fee. You really can't go wrong.
We had a terrible time deciding what to order, everything sounded so good. We started with the SALADE (included with entrée) & MUSHROOM AND LEEK SOUP (included). The salad was dressed with a homemade dressing, but wasn’t anything special– just a spring mix with dressing; sort of bland but a good starter in preparation for a feast.
I loved Le P'tit Plateau! I loved the small cozy ambiance of the restaurant, the open kitchen, the BYOW factor ($5 corkage fee), the friendly staff, the unpretentious feel of the place in general (it's not totally casual, and yet not fancy...but right in the middle), and of course the delicious French food. Next time I'm in Montreal, I'm definitely going back to Le P'tit Plateau.
Cute little French restaurant with a relaxing vibe. The entrees came with salad or soup, either was very good. Snail and mushroom were creamy and thick. Lamb shank was very tender, and the sauce was an excellent match. Most amazingly, you can bring your own wine because they don’t sell any.
Absolutely amazing experience. I came in on a weekday evening as a walk-in, and was kindly accommodated a seat to dine inside. The server (Hugo) was incredibly kind, very helpful and attentive !
This was my first time having escargot in Canada, and it was quite nostalgic for me from when I used to live in France. Plus, the main course was absolutely excellent.
All in all, an impeccable dining experience ! Would highly recommend. 🙂
Je vous apprécie !
Beautiful Saturday night. The food was excellent and has a generous portion of foie gras on almost every dishes! I had the elk and the temperature of the meat was superb and therefore so tender. The desserts were also very delicious. You can bring your wine since I don't think there's a wine menu. I'll be back for more!

Really enjoyed my dinner. The snail cassolette was mildly saltier than I’d like but I still enjoyed it
Great! Between four of us, we ordered the salmon tartar, seafood au gratin, poached salmon, lobster ravioli and the cassoulet. Served with a nice cream of carrot soup. Every dish was delicious. We ALL had fantastic meals.
The atmosphere is very cozy. Prices are completely reasonable given the times and the quality of the food more than justifies it. I will be back!
Friendly staff who personalized our eating experience and the amazing food were the highlight of our night. Roberto, Labick and Balam made our night. We ordered the seafood au gratin and salmon as appetizers, I had the salmon, and partner ordered the lamb. The food was absolutely amazing. It was being your own wine and we did that. Desert was creme brule. I would definately be back to see the staff.
I have been here a few times (dine-in and order from uber eat during the lockdown) because I love the food. However, I think the price is a bit high for the main dish they provide (the price for dessert and appetizer are very reasonable). My partner (from France) thinks the dishes they serve are "regular French food" such cassoulet, but they charge the price of a dish in an up-scale restaurant. I do agree the price is a bit high for its food, but I still like the food. So will come back again as usual!
