Why is everyone talking about Kuljit lately? Well, since reopening at its new and spacious location, it has been HAPPENING. This once hidden gem in St Laurent has now become a destination for visitors from across the island of Montreal. And who could blame us? From the spicy chicken jalfrezi and vindaloo to the biryani and unique channa samosa, Kuljit knows how to please. Oh, and did I mention that it's BYOB? Check them out but make sure to reserve on weekends – it's often a full house.
My favourite is fish pakoda, cozy place . Mostly north Indian dishes would be available here. Not sure they have delivery option. If so could be great.
Sometimes it’s nice to stay in the ol’ neighborhood! And Diva #1 is lucky that one of Montreal’s best Indian restaurants is in Ville St-Laurent. Kuljit India is your typical BYOW hole-in-the-wall Indian restaurant. Inexpensive and delicious, we keep coming back for more. Diva #1, Sweet Pea and P’tit Soeur love enjoying a low key night at Kuljit India.
Very good food and value. I ordered several dishes for takeout, and the taste and quality were invariably very good. They have a nice appetizer called chicken breast pakora -- yummy breaded chicken breast. The curry and spinach dishes I tried were very good, and spiced exactly at the level requested. The ingredients seemed fresh and there was not too much ghee or oil. It's worth noting that this place is close to the Bois-Franc suburban train station, so there is easy access to/from downtown, certain parts of VSL and the centre of TMR. The decor of this place is extremely basic and it's in a strip mall. The staff are friendly. I recommend without hesitation.
Absolutely extraordinary!! Great service and out of this world food!
Excellent.
Probably the BEST Indian food in Montreal...and I have been to many Indian restaurants, suggested by Indian people...nothing compares!!
Sketchy neighbourhood and decor, but it doesn't matter once you taste the food...delisc!!
Awesome.... I can't believe I drove by this place many times without giving it a second thought. Primarily because it is located in a strip mall and looks run down. Don't let the place scare you...its a gem. Thanks to the reviews on urbanspoon, my wife and tried it. We took take out and when we got home...we basically feasted... The best Indian I have ever had. Perfectly spiced....Good on them. Definitely going back very soon.
Best tandoori in city period. Honest well prepared Indian.
Great Food !!. After a long time , we got to taste really good , tasty & well made food . Everyone enjoyed the Vegetarian Thali.
Best indian restaurant. Honestly, probably the best indian restaurant in montreal. Loved it, great food , great price . Im a regular there and they are extremely nice. There is just only good things to say about it.
Amazing, Authentic Indian Food. I've been coming here for years, luckily I live just down the road-do not be put off by its exterior! Excellent and fast service, homey atmosphere, shows great Bollywood movies, and the food is to die for. Plenty of vegetarian options and if you want a taste of everything they have Thali Plates for $8-$9 each! Plenty of options to choose. I'm here about once every two weeks..its that good people :)
Best indian food in montreal. Clean, generious and fresh. Not to miss. Try the butter chicken you wont regret!!!!
Best Indian in Montreal. Nicest service. Called for pick-up at closing time, they said it wasn't a problem. When I showed up, they were waiting for me with their kids who looked anxious to leave. They were all smiles, very happy to be of service and deliver the BEST Indian food in the city. Cheap as well.
Surprisingly good. Went there with my girlfriend after finding the restaurant on urbanspoon. At first when we drove up we didn't think we should of went in, it was a small place in a strip mall, can't see inside through the windows because of curtains...
However, we were glad we went in! We were welcomed by what looks like the owner's wife, who seated us. There is not much seating in the restaurant, but it was ok. She came right away with the menus and two glasses with a pitcher of water that she left on the table.
The food was really good, and cheap too. I really enjoyed it. At the end, I was surprised with the bill. For 2 people, we both had a plate of meat, with chickpeas and naan bread and other things, and we had an entree aswell. All that came out to $20.50, I was so surprised that I left 25 and told her to keep the change. I will definitely go back for sure. Family operated restaurant with authentic food, and great service makes this restaurant great
Great Indian. We LOVE Kuljit's! Great value, amazingly authentic Indian food in Saint-Laurent. Their butter chicken is incredibly flavorful.
From a very satisfied repeat customer.
Remember to order quite a few naan breads as the sauce is sooo good! The food was not spicy if I remembered correctly - but Im sure this could be easily changed if you ask for very spicy for your dishes.
