Review Pick Thai - Montreal

Chloe L
Great, delicious food. I had the vegetarian Pad Thai, which was a bit sweet but included lots of various veggies. I loved the Table d'hôte format; it's a really good deal. You get a couple of appetizers, a salad and a soup along with your meal. It's supposed to include tea or coffee, but they never came back to check on us, so we ended up leaving without it. The service was good when they'd come check on us.

We were a group of 6 people and everything went well. The restaurant is easily accessible in front on Vendome station. All the drinks and dishes we had were amazing. Everything was so tasty and the decoration is nice. We'll go back for sure. Decoration: 5/5 Ambiance: 4/5 Staff: 4/5 Food: 5/5 Beverages: 4/5 Value for money: 4/5

Great selection of authentic thai cuisine. Very friendly staff with quick and efficient service. Overall lovely experience

The place is incredibly beautiful on the inside. The decorations are rich and colourful — it’s like a mini museum full of golden statues and lovely paintings. The food is quite lovely as well. I had a crispy roll that was divine. The little fried golden pouches are amazing. The curry chicken was okay but you might really like it if you enjoy that yellow curry flavour. The green coconut curry and the red one were good but I wouldn’t re-order it. The mango salad was good. The papaya salad was not great – the papaya was not ripe enough and it was a bit heavy on the fish sauce. The mango sticky rice dessert was good but light on the flavour. I think making the rice a bit sweeter would have balanced out the dish. Overall a great place with a kind staff who love adventurous patrons. They will encourage you to try new things if they see you are up for it.

Fresh and delicious. Tried the Pad Thai and the red curry chicken and both were excellent!

Authentic Thai food. The taste is very rich. Cozy and great ambiance. I come here so often that I already tested all their lunch menu and all were good! I always chose mango salad as appetizers and they’re the best! The staffs are friendly. A bit pricey but worth the experience!

OK, full disclosure, this place is only about a 10 minute walk from my house and we never thought of going until we found out it was such a good restaurant the government of Thailand gave it the equivalent of a Michelin Star for serving authentic Thai food.. We were blown away by the great service, delicious food including the best Pad Thai in the city, and an absolutely delicious curry. Please go!

I loved the food there but I really need to say something. The food is worth the wait but is a loooooooooooong wait. It takes around 40 min for your food to arrive the server told us something like sorry the kitchen is busy and everybody came at the same time (lunch time) but that’s the way it works people usually has only an hour to eat. The quality is amazing and the food is so good that’s why the restaurant is full at lunch time so get more servers and more kitchen staff to keep up with it. Again the food is really good

This restaurant is worth all the possible stars. The food is delicious, prepared with quality ingredients which you can taste, the ambiance is nice and cozy and Vilay (the proud owner) and her husband are very welcoming. Thank you for your help and delicious supper! I will be back soon!

Food is heavenly, interior is museum-like, service -- top notch. My favorite place to eat in Montreal. I only wish we had a Thai restaurant of that caliber here in Boston. But no such luck...

Meh. Very slow. Disorganized. Food was ok. Not the best attention to service. Maybe they had a bad day - but it was a put-off. I don't think we'll be back.

Le meilleur resto Thaï à Montréal, juste en face du métro Vendôme. Tout est frais, délicieux et raffiné.

Thai and Szechuan cuisine used to be all the rage. Today, aside from fast food Thai Express counters that I frequent often for a quick fix, I can only count a handful of decent fine dining Thai establishments in Montreal. Many of Thai restaurants have been replaced by other types of Asian eateries that serve anything from Pho and Ramen soups to All-You-Can Eat Sushi or Izakaya’s. This is fine, as everything has a life span and innovation is a good thing if we must progress in food culture.

Went their with some colleagues during lunch time this week . The place is well decorated and the food was good. The portions are just about ok. The lunch menus start from 15 bucks which is a decent price considering the place and food . I wouldn't mind going there again and would recommend to a friend!

I had take out - tried the yam nua, mango salad and pad thai.
They didn't have mango so they substitute it for green apples - it was interesting, but good. The pad thai is delicious. Defintely try it here if you're an aficionado of pad thais. For a Thai place the prices seems a little high but the dine-in looks upscale. Perhaps a good place to have a romantic Thai dinner.

Asian restaurant with no chopsticks? Check. Country music? Check. Elderly white folk? Check.

The biggest issue is the price point. This is neither fine nor authentic cuisine, it's very Westernized. The food is not bad (for what it is), it's still got flavor, it's just very overpriced for what you're getting.

This place confirms the #1 rule you should have in Montreal, never eat anywhere that has the words "authentic" or "fine" in the title.

Busy Thai restaurant near Vendome metro. You need to reserve in advance on Fridays (no walk-ins!) Great decor, but inattentive male waiter. He got the order on our table wrong twice; first we got different soups then what we ordered and then one of our pad thai's had the wrong protein. The food was delicious and made up for the service. The table d'hôte is worth it, as you get 4 little appetizers plus your main meal for a reasonable price. Would go again - and hope for a better waiter!

Food was good but way overpriced. The worst part was our bill, we had a surprise charge 8$ (2$ per person for 4 people) for a small portion of rice that we never ordered. Unfortunately, we will not be going back.

Nice spot for Thai, the decor is very nice and it has a nice ambiance. They have the regular menu and also offer table d'hote. Went with a group service was a little slow but that was to be expected, but they would need a little improvement. Food was good, I had pad Thai and tiger shrimp salad.

The food was good and nice presentation. The atmosphere is also nice and the restaurant is well decorated. It is just slightly over priced. Service wasn't great.

Very Disappointed. Had been to this place before (evening) and absolutely loved the food, flavours and service, but after a recent meal there with four colleagues in the middle of the lunch rush, I would not go back. My rice noodle dish lacked the spicy zing promised on the menu, and the beef was dry, without even a lime wedge (my colleague who ordered the same dish got one, but I didn't) nor any dipping sauces nor ANY other seasonings/condiments on the table! Our servers were very rushed (the place was packed); no-one stopped by during the meal to ask if we needed anything, and I was left with the feeling of being in a fast food restaurant (except for the bill). For $14.95 plus tax, which is not exactly dirt cheap, I expected a bit more finesse both in the food and the service. Very disappointing.

Wonderful restaurant and experience!. Went for a romantic dinner with my girlfriend.....was recommended by a colleague. We're both giant foodies. WOW! Wonderful experience. Decor was very cozy....the appetizers were excellent.....then came the main dish.......seafood platter of probably some of the best salmon I've ever had, giant prawns, and a veggie stir-fry. What impressed me most was that you just KNEW all the ingrediants were fresh. Wonderful restaurant. We're definately going back! PLUS the owner came to see us at the table to make sure everything was OK. How cool is that!

Pick again.... Pros:
Great decor
Warm atmosphere
Good menu selection

Cons:
Very slow service
Limited drink list
Quality of food

We were very excited when we first walked in but it was short-lived. The appetizer we ordered was supposed to be deep-fried but was served cold. Owner did come and apologize and our app was comped which was appreciated. Our mains were mediocre and we decided dessert was probably going to be just as disappointing.

The owner is very sweet and passionate but the service and food need work to make this restaurant worthy of it's 98% review.

Really beautiful restaurant.
The service was ok, friendly but a bit slow.
The food is also good. Not great. The portions are nice. But the food was A bit too sweet to my liking.
Overall a great addition to NDG/ WESTMOUNT. We love Thai food so we will likely go again and give them another chance hoping it will be even better.

Great new addition to the NDG and lower Westmount scene. We ate at Pick Thai with our 8, 12 and 14 year old kids and everyone loved it. Excellent decor, service and food. Will certainly visit again.

Absolutely the best I tried.. Came to Montreal from US with my buddies just to have some fun. Somebody recommended this restaurant. Wow! The place is elegant and decorated with great taste. Food is heavenly! Wine selection is top-notch. The staff is perfectly schooled. I am jealous. Can honestly say: we don't have a Thai restaurant of that caliber in Boston!

Great Thai food experience. We absolutely loved this place. Snapper fish baked in salt is an absolute winner of this restaurant. It was so tasty - I ate every piece of it! There is a great choice of curries, noodles, steaks.

Finally an amazing Thai restaurant in Montreal!. I went to the restaurant for lunch, the lunch price is good (comes with salad and an egg roll) and the food is just amazing. This restaurant cannot even be compared to Thai express, like this is real high quality Thai food. The place is nice, clean and cozzy as well. Plus the service was just great. I had an amazing time there and definitely would recommend to other people, especially if you are a fan of Thai food.
Ayiann
Excellent authentic Thai cuisine. Everything was sublime. The decor and ambiance were on point. The food is some of the best Thai available in Montreal. The ingredients are top notch and you can tell a lot of care is given to the food preparation.
Mikhail
I've had 4 lunches and each time the food was AMAZING! The owner is delightful and very polite. Westmount has a winner here right across the Vendome subway station.

Great food, ordinary service. The food was amazing, true flavor party in my mouth. However, the waitress (and probably owner) was terrible: she didnt bring us water until we asked for some, she kept confusing our orders and didnt remove our appetizer plates before bringing us our meals.

Upscale Thai restaurant. Wonderful new restaurant in Montreal! Convenient location opposite Vendome metro with parking. Relaxing ambiance, tastefully decorated. The food is fresh delicious and beautifully presented. Service efficient, friendly and professional. I highly recommend!
