Although the restaurant was packed, we got very fast service. Our waiter was very kind. Lastly, the food, mimosa and fresh orange juice was amazing!! It was probably the best breakfast my husband and I ever had!
Great breakfast! Be hungry as the portions are quite big. This place is pumping and always busy yet fast and friendly service. Definitely on my list of favorite breakfast restaurants.
Awesome food and fast service. We ate there 3 different tines and it was always very good and fast. Got seated fast and the best breakfast in town!

As a true downtown Montrealer for over a decade, I've been here numerous times. Whether it's for an impromptu brunch, Bachelorette party, Mother's day celebration, work function, etc., I've always been more than pleased with the service and food here. Last night, my friend and I strolled in with our babies in tow and was welcomed kindly. The staff was accommodating to us and helpful. I enjoyed their salmon tartare and pinot grigio! Thank you for the wonderful service and delicious food all these years!

Great service! The Saint Patrick's Day parade was happening just down the road, so it was packed, but food arrived fast! Got the universal breakfast and was not dissapointed! Would definitely go back next time I'm in Montreal

The food was great and the service was ok. After having a great weekend having my last meal there topped it off.
I have travelled the world and Universal is my favourite. I used to walk here for brunch daily in -40 degree weather.

This is my second visit to Universel and I was pleased to see they've kept up their standards since I was there a couple of years ago. My friend and I enjoyed a lovely weekday brunch, complete with mimosas and great service. The food is divine and beautifully presented, the restaurant has a chic, lively but also somehow relaxing ambiance, and the location allows for nice shopping afterwards. Try their benedicts - the eggs florentine was outstanding today!

Excellent restaurant with great service. Bacon Eggs Benedict was delicious and the hash browns are well seasoned and far above ordinary. Our granddaughters still talk about it. Would love to go back again!

The ambiance is very nice and Angie was very professional, warm and cheery.
The food was amazing. Everything was cooked to the perfection. The balance between the ingredients worked very well and it was a joy to eat all the courses. They treated the ingredients with respect and could taste the freshness in them.
The portions are generous too. You'll be very full after a three course meal.
Overall, I really enjoyed and strongly recommend it. We will definitely be back for more.
We were in town for the Grand Prix and this is the breakfast place to go to. Eggs benidict (universal) was amazing and omelets are great. Home squeezed orange juice is juicy! If you have a sweet tooth try the Nutella crepes or waffles. Staff was super friendly. Manager has a nice watch! Thanks for the great food we will be back next year (or sooner).
When I have my conferences downtown at the Omni Hotel, we often come here with our colleagues. The service is very good. The food is always good, and their menu has a good selection as well. I had the tuna which was perfect for a lite late evening supper. My boyfriend had the bavette which also very good.
Another friend had the pizza and another had poutine…we were all happy.

This place is always among our top choices for brunch since the food quality is great and the space is big enough that there isn’t a long lineup most of the time (the lineups move pretty fast if they have any). However, the past few times we came here, some waiters weren’t as friendly as before and the level of noise has gone really high. I understand most places are understaffed but this doesn’t justify the rudeness of some employees or the really loud noises coming from the kitchen area (they can still work quietly and don’t need to drop dishes on top of each other).
I really hope they fix these couple of issues because we’d love to continue going here!
