Review Restaurant Gandhi - Montreal

Stopped in when walking by in Old Montreal. I love Indian food and will have it whenever I'm traveling. Despite not having a reservation they seated us in a nice table near a window. It got busy really quickly. Food came out un a reasonable amount of time. Our waiters were veey nice. Food was delicious!

Everything happens for a reason.. truly believe in that. So friday evening and I was struggling to find a place for dinner in Montreal at Saint Paul Rue. Wanted to go a restaurant called LOV which is popular for its vegetarian dishes. However, due to long waiting I started exploring other restaurant and stumbled upon “Gandhi”. Now this place had the best service, staff and most importantly the food( mild and yummy). All of their service suffice their pricing. Highly recommended!

I was very excited to have found an Indian restaurant in Montreal but my excitement didn't last any longer. The curries are not even close to what authentic Indian curries taste like. The chef and owner should visit India, eat authentic Indian food especially curries in Delhi, Punjab, Mumbai or Pune and then sit together and work on the recipes. The best recipes can be found on YouTube channels of well-known chefs like Ranbir Brar, Tarla Dalal or Sanjeev Kapoor. The food was so expensive. We paid $130 for 2 pakodas, 2 curries, 1 daal and 4 naans (for the food we didn't even like) Highly disappointing experience!

Excellent dinner with friends. The service was very good and the food delicious. There were 4 of us and we were all very happy with our meals. I was the only vegetarian in the group and found that there were multiple options. The only small issue was that we had requested 2 separate bills, but we’re given 1. This was rectified right away. I would highly recommend and definitely go back the next time we’re in Montreal.

Being an Indian, I was doubting the taste before entering the restaurant as it looks like fancy in upscale touristy area. Surprisingly, food tastes incredibly good. High prices justifies the location, decor, cleanliness, service and quality of food. Malai Chicken Curry recommended by server was awesome. Highly recommended.

Gandhi is one of my favourite Indian Fine dinning restaurants in Montreal. The menu has a great Vegetarian and Vegan options. The service is exceptional. The dishes here are Aloo mattar, paneer in cream sauce and daal. Nan is fresh and soft. I prefer the gulab jamoon to be served warm & fresh.
