Full disclosure, I ate in my car. The latkes and brisket were amazing, even in a takeaway format.
Update: I went to the dining room, portions were generous, I had leftovers for a second meal. The sides such as the pickles and coleslaw were very good. The service was good and rapid. It was so delicious I would put 6 stars if I could!

Finally made it here after having thus on my list. Came for breakfast and had their smoked meat poutine with coffee. Pretty good although I found the gravy a hit salty.
Service was very friendly and it had such an old school diner vibe I think that is pretty unique in itself.

Great people and the smoked meat there is delicious! Highly recommend their Hamantashen cookie too (stuffed with plums, a nice blend of spices and some orange or citrusy flavour).

Went here for the first time with a few friends, for lunch.
Service was quick and excellent.
The food was great. We ordered the old style smoked meat, the lean version. I think, I am going to order a bit more fat next time. Lol
But, the smoked meat was excellent and you get a good portion.

Best diner/breakfast/brunch spot in Montreal!
Portions are generous, I ordered pancakes, they come in a set of 2 with the option to have fruit on the side or inside, I opted to have mine made with blueberries. Then there’s the smoked meat Benny, which is delicious! I also liked the Blintz- which are crepe rolls filled with sweet cheese served with blueberry jam and sour cream. This place is just amazing!

Some of the best smoked meat I've tasted in Montreal. Tender, juicy, flavourful yet simple. Very generous with their portions of meat to bread ratio and seasoned to perfection. Staff there were also very friendly.

I eat here regularly with friends and co-workers and usually find the food very good but the platter I ordered last night was just horrendous. Ordered medium old fashioned and what was dropped in front of me was at least 50% pure fat. It was disgusting to be honest and we complained to the waitress who took it away to be replaced. The return plate had some slices of lean (definitely was not medium and not old fashioned as there were no spices on the side) but under it was still big pieces of the same fatty pieces. Just wasn't worth complaining again since fries were now cold and we were too hungry but I left 1/2 of it on the plate by the end.
If that is their new definition of lean old fashioned then it may very well be the last time I ever eat there. Would be ashamed to bring coworkers from away here again if this is what we get. The type of quality I expect from a place like Dunn's, not Snowdon Deli.
Oh and to top it off a couple hours later had many return visits to the bathroom so the good times really continued...

I was introduced to Delisnowdon 38 years ago.I had an appointment with the then owner, Joe Morantz, to have some artwork approved for his takeout containers. When I arrived, he was extremely busy and asked if we could meet after lunch. I decided to try a smoked meat. When I got up to pay, the cashier said everything's handled. From that time on, I have been a loyal fan of theirs-THE BEST smoked meat in Montreal and I've tried most of them. Their staff have been there for along time. The customers have been loyal for ages. Go and spoil yourself. One and a half medium old fashioned with the best coleslaw in town and their fries are to die for. Go see Ian and his crew. Guaranteed you won't be disappointed. Keep up the tradition Ian and crew!(the guy from Sherbrooke).

Great food and atmosphere in there. I was introduced to the Snowdon deli about 30 years ago. It was kinda dumpy back then but the food was fantastic, it's much brighter now and food is just as good. My favourite is the bagel and lox.

Visited from Vancouver and in search for traditional Montreal deli...this is it🙂Most importantly it is somewhat secluded from the usual "tourist path" which makes this to be truly unique, good quality experience. Home potatoes rock and are just like those my grandparents used to make in Poland👍 Will be back, next time in Montreal!

We tried to provide a meal for a dear friend and her family while they sat shiva. Although Sophie was extremely friendly and helpful during our initial call, their communication with the family was completely unprofessional, they failed to follow my instructions, failed to call me as promised so we could confirm plans once they spoke with the family, and failed to email the receipt to me as promised. When I called to find out how our money had been used, they struggled to find records of what had taken place, and then kept changing their story over the next few days. At the same time, I was advised by my friends sitting shiva that the service they received was completely unsatisfactory.
We will never call or visit Snowdon Deli again.
Update: After being told by the family that they did not want the credit from Snowdon Deli, I asked for a refund on my credit card. That was a week ago. Story changes every time we call.
