Put this place on your list for lunch or dinner. Great food fun atmosphere and friendly staff. We visited twice with small groups and sampled much of the dinner menu and were impressed with the quality. We were off season so no waiting to be seated.
We really enjoyed eating our last meal in Montreal here. The waiter and staff were kind and welcoming and made special changes to a menu item for our son. Great place to eat and the food was amazing!

Nous y étions vendredi soir. Précédent le spectacle Avudo , quel plaisir de se retrouver pour une 3e fois à la Taverne Gaspar! Zoé fût un vrai rayon de soleil. Et là...comment décrire notre premier plat partagé: le popcorn au homard! Oufff! Du bonheur en bouche! C'est le petit nouveau? Gardez-le au menu! Avec la Sangria Bulle, cette belle soirée était "startée"!! Fêtant l'anniversaire de notre amie, Zoé et ?(!) on conclu le souper (et nous ont accompagné �) avec un dernier shooter: un succulent " hotshot" !
Excellent service, and amazing food. Probably the best chicken I've ever had in my 32 years on this planet.
Not only was the food fantastic but the service was friendly and efficient. They were really attentive and patient with our large group. I recommend without hesitation.
We were staying at the hotel upstairs so it was convenient. Breakfast were always delicious- we didn't ever want to try another place. I recommend the goat cheese omelette. At night we had drinks at the bar with friends. We got some crazy shot that involved Fire me cinnamon "fireworks". It was so much fun, and delicious. All servers all day were very friendly and fun.
Brought a large group from the US, the food was fantastic, the service fast, friendly and helpful. It was easy to talk and the price for meal reasonable. Recommend, and thank you!
We had the TavernBurger, and ribs. Both excellent. The service was very good. Had s’mores for dessert which was just outstanding.

Everything I read in TripAdvisor that led us to select Taverne Gaspar for our Saturday night in Montreal was true. Great staff and service, wonderful food and presentation!

Really enjoyed our sugar shack brunch the past Sunday. Boutin Noir is special. And crispy chicken on maple waffle is very tasty. Portions are big (enough guys, too much for ladies). Very reasonably priced at $24. Food was fresh and well-prepared. This brunch has changed my impression on sugar shack menu. The other ones (traditional country style) are too meaty and greasy. Nothing but pork, and I happen not a pork fan.
Service was fast and efficient. Little touch of the festive deco. Everything was perfect. Only I forgot to tell the waitress that the salad dressing could use a bit less salt since the sauce was all on the bottom.

Went for Brunch; I did not really have a brunch item. My ribs were tasty though! The corn was so yummy!!! Service was slow, it was busy and they were understaffed but our server gave us free shooters at the end. So he was excused! Its in the old port so u can go for a stroll after.
Loved it here! The service was great and very sweet to treat our birthday friend to a surprise. Great seats right in the middle of the old port and yummy food worth the price which can often be difficult in old Montreal. Very nice experience and would go back.
I walked in on a Saturday morning for brunch and was delighted to see this place was empty! I had great royal service from the staff and a hearty breakfast poutine to start my day. All wrapped up in a gorgeous little restaurant in a prime spot in Old Montreal. Definitely worth going back to.
Had dinner here for our 23rd anniversary. Catherine took wonderful care of us, being attentive without smothering. Our meals were also very good, with excellent presentation and flavor.
