Review Onoir - Montreal

I went there with my team members. We all had an amazing experience. One could clearly experience how a blind would person feel. It was so loud inside since I guess the only way one can express something inside is by speaking; your gesture does not work inside. You have to guess everything inside, like size of your plate, stuff still left on your plate, who else are entering or leaving the room based on their vocal and the direction they go. Since I was a vegan I did not have more choice. The main course meal was amazing. The could not eat the dessert served to me since it was extremely sweet for my tooth. I really recommend if anyone wants to feel life of a blind person.

Amazing experience and service. What an incredible experience and the food was absolutly delicious!!! I recommended trying some of the surprise options and trying to guess what you are eating. This restaurant not only met but exceeded my expectations. I would 100% recommend it.

The entree and main course were tasty, although the duck plate was a bit too salty. The creme brûlée was quite disappointing, tasting old and clumpy. Although the experience was fun, the quality of food doesn’t justify the high price we paid for the meal.

They poisoned me. I told them that I was allergic to cinnamon and they mixed up the plates, giving me my partner's entrée. They told us they'd given him extra cinnamon for no particular reason and as I ate, I noticed nothing on my plate resembled what I'd ordered. We had to get the waiter to check and yes, they gave me a plate full of something I'm allergic to. (I was very sick to my stomach as a result...) When I finally got my dish, it was way too salty and the risotto was inedible. The app was also loaded with salt and the dessert was mush. This is the second time we've gone and both times we've found everything way too salty. The only good food was the Bloody Caesar.

Great Experience, Service, Food and Exceptional Hospitality :) Onoir is a culinary experience like no other. Your entire dining experience is in complete darkness! Without your sight, you must rely on your other senses to experience your meal on a whole new level. It has an impressive and decadent menu. Your journey of touch, scent and taste will encounter such dishes as salmon filet with coconut milk, rabbit saddle stuffed with poultry, vegetarian stuffed cabbage with chickpeas and eggplant and much more. After your incredible dinner, be sure to sample the profiteroles with homemade nougat ice cream or chocolate mousse with caramelized mango. If you are extra brave you can try their surprise entrees, main dishes and desserts. They will pleasantly surprise you. I highly recommend this restaurant. It's the type of experience you want to repeat over and over again.

Fantastic food at great value. We ate on the patio, as my kids wanted to eat burgers and they're not on the menu for the "special" experience. The beef tenderloin (shoulder) was delicious, with crispy kale and pickled cooked baby tomatoes adding so much to the dish. I asked for the crumble (which wasn't on the menu), and the waitress obliged - it was home made, healthy and tasty. I had to add a lot of salt, which was fine. My wife didn't particularly enjoy her tofu curry, that was just OK. But my son loved his burger with emmental and smoked meat, and the fries were very good too.

The experience is very unique!! I really like it. The atmosphere: For the bar itself, it has a very comfortable atmosphere. For the dinning dark room, there is no light totally! Everything is perfect. The dishes: We tried the “surprise dishes”, clients can choose 2 or 3 services. The price is very reasonable. After you decide the menu, you can enter the dark room to explore the darkness. The flavor of the dish is really good. I really recommend you to have a try. Ps. All services are bilingual. The waiter/waitress will lead you into the darkroom.( you only need to put your hands on their shoulders) . After you seat youself, they will present you the locations of your knife and forks. If you have any questions during the dinner, you can just call their name. It’s really a unique experience. That allows us to experience the life without visualization, however, other sense in the darkness will become very sensitive. If you don’t have dark phobia and claustrophobia, It’s really worth to go to this restaurant.

Very cool experience ! Dining in the dark is an experience you must try. I recommend going early as I perferred when there was less people because after 30 minutes they brought some really obnoxious people who dont understand the meaning of volume control that dininished the experience. Food was decent, not at all great... drinks were decent as well but we did enjoy the overall experience. If this was a molecular gastronomic place i think youd have a stellar experience. Eating in the dark is fun,but textures need to be incorporated more to heighten the excitement and mystery of what you are eating. Nonetheless, you should try it. It's a very fascinating experience and the staff was very polite and efficient w service.
