Half the city was closed down after the snow storm, but we walked over to this quaint restaurant from our hotel and were immediately intrigued with the place. The service was superb. They customized a drink for me and did a great job with it. The appetizers were very well presented and tasteful. The main course exceeded our expectations. Highly recommend this place!
The starter was good, the meal was good, the waitress was really good not always at our table but made sure we didn’t want for anything. The coffee was not plentiful or extremely hot. For a non drinker the coffee is important it should be high quality and plentiful the atmosphere was lively and generally happy people people dining all around. The only only thing that bothered us was the garbage on the side walk in front of the restaurant. There was not any garbage throughout the city but there was paper boxes drinking cups cigarette butts etc to walk over to enter or exit the restaurant a solid 4 rating
What a fantastic last night on vacation! The drinks were excellent. Oysters fresh! Haddock and risotto was delicious. Others at my table had seafood risotto, seafood chowder, fish tacos and spinach dip. Everything we had was amazing. We were so happy we found this spot.
I love the atmosphere of this place. Smoky without the smoke. Books like the walls... lamps are turned on low... funky music filtering in... I ordered the lobster 🦞 pasta... being from the west coast, one of my goals was to have Atlantic Lobster before I return to Vancouver BC. This pasta was scrumptious. The New York Cheese Cake with blueberry sauce drizzled over it, really hit the spot. I'd have to say that the Virgin mojahito was probably to best I've ever tasted... with the fresh stacked limes and mint. Superb!
This restaurant has a unique interior design and all waiters and waitresses were very friendly! Oysters were fresh and clean, seafood chowder was loaded with seafood, and the bison burger was juicy and tender. Overall everything was on the salty side, especially the deconstructed ravioli.
We have visited the St James's Gate restaurant three times now on each of our trips to Moncton this year. The food has been consistently excellent. The staff are friendly, and welcoming. We want to give a big shout out of thanks to Aayush, who has served us on our last two trips. He is always smiling, attentive and informative about the menu. There is live music too, which is fantastic. We recommend eating here and you won't be disappointed. Thank you to all the lovely staff at this restaurant. G & T.
