Best Pho.. I've been enjoying Pho for many years in the GTA. This little out of the way spot located in a small plaza on the corner of Cawthra/Silvercreek (immediately north of Dundas) is fantastic. The staff is friendly, the service prompt, and the Pho is simply the best. The portions are huge yet you never feel like you got some watered down soup. The meat is never the overly fatty, veiny, "should have been discarded" stuff that is so commonly served in many Asian restaurants, and they are very generous with it and the noodles. The broth is hearty and seasoned to perfection, but never too salty-- which is so common just about everywhere nowadays. The prices are very affordable and you'll have a hard time finding anything over $10 on the menu. Some other dishes I've tried were pork dinners and I wasn't disappointed. The decor is unapologetically tacky, yet very humble in its simplicity-- a good kind of kitsch. The clientelle is mostly Vietnamese ex-pats, not hat wearing tweeny hipsters without a clue. I regularly drive from Toronto to eat there, passing countless inferior Pho spots along the way. I've committed the ultimate 'Pho pas' and have on a few occasions been unable to finish my soup. They have not once even so much as looked at me funny for asking if I can take the rest home. A lot of other places actually warn you on the menu not to do that-- Guess what? This place has had my business for over a year, and will continue to have it for as long as it's there. Those other places will never see me again.
The Pho at this place is awesome. The soup is not greasy and does not make you feel like drinking a gallon of water afterwards. Overall, friendly atmosphere and affordable prices.
