We went there for a Friday afternoon lunch (which, in a way, is also special) and has a great time. GTA area, somehow, has some amazing South Indian restaurants and this one is right up my alley.
We went for Punugulu, Onion Pesarattu, Poori with Chole and a Dosa (can't exactly remember the name). All the four dishes were great - especially the Pesarattu. Chole could have been better. They should actually have a combination of Poori with Aloo Curry. Having said that, the food was amazing.
The staff was good and friendly.
My food journey in Canada drove me to Godavari Grandma's kitchen restaurant in Toronto Mississauga. By looking at the name board I started falling in love with Godavari Grandma's kitchen restaurant.
Entered inside and started looking at the Menu, 1st page made me remember my grandmother.
Sudha Devaguptapu who is Grand daughter of Kamaladevi Garu founded this place and mentioned a tribute on the 1st page. It would take you to next level of love with Godavari hotel.
One of the crew members came and took the order and asked me with lots of curiosity "Anna Teluga". When I said Avunu "Yes" his eyes filled with lots of happiness and mine too. I think he is student and working part time there. Felt happy when I spoke to him in my mother tongue.
Ordered for Andhra Style Green Chilli Dosa and a Sweet Lassi. I asked for roasted one and they denied to roast it and said they have the stand one. Good that they denied my request and served me best Dosa with 4 yummy and finger licking chutneys (Dips). As usual, spent good time in photography and started enjoying the Dosa with Sweet Lassi.
Thanks Godavari for making me happy with a marvelous dinner.
